“Shadow: A Parable” By Edgar Allan Poe Review

This one begins broodingly, as the narrator tells us that he is writing of his experiences for future readers long after he is dead: “strange things shall happen,” he predicts, “and secret things be known, and many centuries pass away, ere these memorials be seen of men.”

I need to say that this one was one of the best works written by Edgar Allan Poe.

Keep in mind that this one is for the most part about a dinner party with an uninvited presence.

This story isn’t that scary as you might think it is, for the most part this story have some quite creepy without being directly creepy.

The writing style is amazing as you can expect from Edgar Allan Poe, and from the gothic field which of course Edgar Allan Poe is a huge part of.

This story captures the ultimate magic in this story which makes this story amazing.

This story is a very very short story because the story happens throughout 3 pages which can be read in 5 minutes.

This one is definitely worth reading and it is a must read if you want to call yourself an Edgar Allan Poe fan.

I give this poem 4 / 5

  1. This short story gives a glimpse of the excellent texture of poes mind where hidden thoughts are expressed, a part of the mind many are not aware of hence becomes unused. The fears, anxiety the characters which cause the hideously present are brought forth to ready minds nevertheless. Only persons who can tune their minds to the unexplored possibilities of a mind can really appreciate this. However it indicates the author’s extraordinary faculties which few connoisseurs in the field can know. Hail the author for his depictions of mystry and unknown and it’s ramifications.May he live in the heavens happily as a reward for his works on this earth!
