“The Hostile Hospital” By Lemony Snicket Review

There is nothing to be found in the pages of these books but misery and despair. You still have time to choose something else to read. But if you must know what unpleasantries befall the charming and clever Baudelaire children read on…The Hostile Hospital – There are many pleasant things to read about, but this book contains none of them. Within its pages are such burdensome details as a suspicious shopkeeper, unnecessary surgery, heartshaped balloons, and some very starling news about a fire. Clearly you do not want to read about such things.

I need to admit that I almost gave this book a 4 star rating. Because this book is much weaker than the previous 7 books in this series.

The plot in this book goes much darker than in the previous books. Because in this book Count Olaf and his Co, are trying to decapitated Violet’s head as one of his get-rich schemes.

The character are so amazing. They are even better than they were in the first book in this series. You can truly see the character development happen in each book which is the most satisfying thing to see in this series.

The writing style in this book, as in this series as a whole (so far) is incredible. Its so good, that I can’t even put words to it. You really have to read this series to really understand what I’m talking about.

However this book is different from the previous book. Because we don’t see count Olaf personally in this book but rather him talking through an intercom and ordering is trop to do the work for him.

In this book Violet, Klaus and Sunny or on the Run because the newspapers have painted them as as murders. So this is a unique turn of events for this series.

And the ending is well unique. Because Violet, Klaus and Sunny decide to do a very stupid and brave thing. Which I would never do if I was in their situation. Of course I can’t say what I’m talking about because I don’t want to give spoiler in this review.

I Give This Book 5 / 5
