Let me start this review by saying that this one is just a preview for the entire comic book. And I read it because I wanted to see if the full comic book was worth the money and time I would spend on it. And I’m gonna give you the answer for that at the end of this review.

This preview showcases a diverse array of storytelling and artistic talent. At the same time this preview offers us as readers a tantalizing glimpse into the eclectic and innovative worlds that Vertigo Comics is renowned for, making it a must-read for fans of bold and boundary-pushing narratives.

This preview brings together a selection of short stories and excerpts from upcoming series, highlighting the diversity and creativity that define Vertigo’s brand. Each piece is distinct, reflecting a wide range of genres and themes, from gritty urban tales to fantastical adventures. This variety ensures that there is something to pique my interest.

One of the standout features of this preview is its ability to introduce complex characters and intriguing plots within a limited space. Each story manages to establish a unique tone and atmosphere, which had drawn me into its world with skillful storytelling and compelling premises. The writers excel at crafting narratives that are both engaging and thought-provoking, which has left me eager to explore the full series.

The artwork throughout this preview is equally impressive, showcasing a range of styles that complement the diverse narratives. Each artist brings their unique flair to the pages, enhancing the storytelling with expressive character designs and dynamic compositions. The visual diversity not only adds to the appeal but also highlights the wide range of artistic talent within the Vertigo imprint.

While this preview excels in introducing new stories and characters, the format can be both a strength and a limitation. The short excerpts has left me personally wanting more, which is a testament to their quality, but it also means that some narratives feel incomplete. This can be frustrating for those looking for a fully fleshed-out story, though it serves the preview’s purpose of enticing us as readers to explore the full comic book and the rest of this series.

The dialogues in thus preview are well-crafted, capturing the distinct voices and personalities of the characters. Conversations feel natural and dynamic, driving the plot and revealing character motivations. The writing is sharp and engaging, ensuring that each story were able to maintain my interest from start to finish.

So will buy and read the full version of this comic book ? Yes I will. It might take some time for me to actually read the full version of this comic book because I have been way too optimistic when creating my TBR list for this year and I don’t know if I get the time to read the full version of this comic book this year. But I will read the full version of this comic book at some point in time.

I Give This Book 4 / 5
