The government is struggling to cope with the growing number of mutants, aliens and supernatural beings who are living amongst us. People are beginning to panic and so, in 2050, the Department for Extra Human Affairs was established with a remit to try and contain the problem. By 2086 the situation has escalated, so they have formed a new rapid response strike force, the Alpha Gods. Who better to police the Extra Human community than Extra Humans themselves? The Alpha Gods stage an assault on a secret laboratory to save a young girl from an evil organization’s clandestine schemes. Who is Nyssa? And what is her connection to the Alpha God’s leader, Paladin?

Let me start this review by saying that this one is just a preview for the entire comic book. And I read it because I wanted to see if the full comic book was worth the money and time I would spend on it. And I’m gonna give you the answer for that at the end of this review.

This preview introduces us to a new team of superhumans, setting the stage for a potentially intriguing series.

The story in this preview kicks off with the Alpha Gods, a group of superpowered individuals, as they face internal and external threats. The premise is promising, with a blend of action, intrigue, and character dynamics. The creators of this preview create a narrative that introduces the team and hints at deeper conflicts, both within the group and from outside forces.

The character development is a key focus of this preview, and while it lays some groundwork, there is room for growth. Each member of the Alpha Gods has unique abilities and personalities, but the issue only scratches the surface of their potential. The interactions provide a glimpse into the team dynamics, teasing possible alliances and tensions that could be explored in future issues. However, more depth and backstory would enrich our understanding and investment in these characters.

The artwork intros preview complements the narrative with vibrant and dynamic illustrations. The action sequences are well-executed, capturing the energy and excitement expected from a superhero comic. The character designs are distinct and memorable, helping to establish each individual’s identity within the team. However, some panels feel a bit cluttered, which can occasionally detract from the clarity of the action or the emotional impact of certain scenes.

The dialogues in this preview are generally effective, though it occasionally falls into the realm of cliché. Some exchanges feel overly familiar, lacking the originality that could elevate the character interactions. Despite this, the dialogue does succeed in conveying the essential plot points and character motivations.

The pacing of this preview is another area with room for improvement. While the narrative moves briskly, it sometimes rushes through key moments that would benefit from more development. A bit more time spent on world-building and character exploration would enhance the emotional weight of the story. The preview sets up several intriguing plot threads, but it can feel like it’s trying to do too much at once.

Despite these criticisms, this preview shows potential. The foundation laid in this preview suggests the possibility of a complex, engaging series with the right focus on character development and plot refinement. The concept of a superpowered team dealing with betrayal and internal conflict is compelling, and if the series can balance its ambitious ideas with more nuanced storytelling, it could capture a dedicated audience.

So will buy and read the full version of this comic book ? Yes I will. It might take some time for me to actually read the full version of this comic book because I have been way too optimistic when creating my TBR list for this year and I don’t know if I get the time to read the full version of this comic book this year. But I will read the full version of this comic book at some point in time.

“Henry’s Secret Summer Special Graphic Novel Part 1” By KuroKoneko Kamen Review

A new mission looms for the legendary crew of misfit heroes—Cursebreakers. This time, the tide pulls them to the seaside town of Whispering Wave, a bustling summer hotspot filled with fairy-tale tourists, sun-soaked sands, and dark, deep secrets. But beneath the waves, something stirs—something sinister.

This comic book sets out to offer a blend of mystery and romance but ultimately falls short. While the premise of this come book promise, the execution struggles with narrative cohesion and character development.

The story in this comic book revolves around Henry, a character introduced with the potential for depth and intrigue. However, the plot quickly becomes muddled, lacking a clear direction and have left me confused about the storyline’s trajectory. The narrative feels disjointed, with events unfolding in a manner that disrupts the flow and makes it difficult to fully engage with the story.

The character development in this comic book is notably lacking in this volume. Henry, who should be a compelling protagonist, is presented with minimal depth. His motivations and personality are not thoroughly explored, reducing him to a one-dimensional figure. The supporting characters fare no better, often serving as mere plot devices rather than fully realized individuals. This superficial treatment makes it challenging for me personally to connect with or care about the characters’ journeys.

The writing style in this comic book, while attempting to capture elements of mystery and emotion, often falls flat. The dialogues lacks the sharpness and emotional resonance needed to elevate the narrative. Conversations serve more as exposition rather than meaningful interactions, which detracts from the potential for dynamic character exchanges and development.

The artwork in this comic book, while capturing a certain charm, does little to enhance the narrative experience. The illustrations often lack detail and consistency, failing to convey the excitement and intensity that the story demands. The visual style feels underdeveloped and does not engage picky readers as myself, further diminishing the impact of the narrative.

The pacing of this comic book is another significant issue, with scenes that either drag without purpose or rush through potentially important moments. This inconsistency disrupts the flow and makes it challenging for me personally to maintain interest or fully grasp the plot’s progression. The lack of a clear narrative arc further exacerbates this problem which have left me without a satisfying sense of direction.

Despite this comic book’s shortcomings, the concept of exploring Henry’s secrets holds potential for future development. With a more structured storyline and deeper exploration of character motivations, subsequent parts could better capture the intrigue and depth inherent in the premise.

2024 Changes On The Website

Hi guys, since December 2023 I’ve been thinking about making some changes on the content and when the content will be upload.

From what I’ve seen both the author interviews and investing posts has been doing so well as they did when I first started write those post. And because of this I decided to remove the investing section from this website and stop for a while with the author reviews.

But if a lot of you want either the author interviews or the investing posts to return then I will comply with it. But as of now, I want to focus on book reviews, because it was what this website started with.

Because of those changes I needed to work on the seclude where the posts are uploaded on the website. In 2023 I began with 4 book reviews a week, and as of now it will stay like this but the days will change a bit.

Ive decided that every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday a new book review will be upload on the website.

Hey and Welcome

Hey, I’m Amelia just a Polish girl getting into reading and everything book related.
I don’t know yet how many posts every week will be published but I guess this soon will be figured out.
It’s important to remember that everything you see on this blog and on my Instagram will be my opinion and my perspective. And that it is okay if your opinion or perspective is different from mine, because that is the thing what made life more fun.
And the last thing for today is that I want this blog to be a place for everyone no matter if you are black or white, American or European, old or young. Because I feel like this is what the internet and world needs right now (at least).
