“The Miserable Mill” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, I hope, for your sake, that you have not chosen to read this book because you are in the mood for a pleasant experience. If this is the case, I advise you to put this book down instantaneously, because of all the books describing the unhappy lives of the Baudelaire orphans, The Miserable Mill might be the unhappiest yet. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are sent to Paltryville to work in a lumber mill, and they find disaster and misfortune lurking behind every log.

This book is the fourth book in the “series of unfortunate events” which is one of the greatest series ever written.

This book is very short just as the previous 3 books in this series. And I’ve done the same thing which I’ve did with the previous book which of course is reading the entire book in one sitting.

This book is a page turner just as the previous 3 books in this series. And so far I come to love this series more and more with each read book in this series.

The more books you reading in this series, the sadder you feel for Violet, Klaus and Sunny. Because Count Olaf is making more and more schemes and Violet, Klaus and Sunny can’t even catch a break.

The plot here gets a really sad, because Violet, Klaus And Sunny are forced to work in a lumber mill and Klaus gets hypnotised. At the same time it’s very interesting to read it and very enjoyable.

The plot in this book is highly depressing and terribly entertaining. Which is a unique mix between these two.

I need to give Count Olaf some credit because his get-rich schemes are getting better and better which each book.

The character are so amazing. They are even better than they were in the first book in this series. You can truly see the character development happen in each book which is the most satisfying thing to see in this series.

However Mr. Poe is still the blind idiot he was in the first book. At this point being in the fourth book, he really should get the hint of listening to Violet, Klaus and Sunny when they say that a person is Count Olaf is disguise. However it’s very satisfying to see him shown by Violet, Klaus and Sunny that they were right all along.

The writing style in this book, as in this series as a whole (so far) is incredible. Its so good, that I can’t even put words to it. You really have to read this series to really understand what I’m talking about.

I Give This Book 5 / 5

“Mansfield Park” By Jane Austen Review

Taken from the poverty of her parents’ home in Portsmouth, Fanny Price is brought up with her rich cousins at Mansfield Park, acutely aware of her humble rank and with her cousin Edmund as her sole ally. During her uncle’s absence in Antigua, the Crawford’s arrive in the neighbourhood bringing with them the glamour of London life and a reckless taste for flirtation. Mansfield Park is considered Jane Austen’s first mature work and, with its quiet heroine and subtle examination of social position and moral integrity, one of her most profound.

In my opinion this book gotta be the best book written by Jane Austen so far. Of course I didn’t read all of her works yet.

The plot here is super interesting, fun, enjoyable and overall super amazing. I read this book in one day because I couldn’t pull myself away from the plot and this book because I was so engaged in this book which really surprised me a lot.

The writing style here was amazing, Jane Austen truly showed that she is one of the best authors of the past. After reading this book I truly understand the full hype with Jane Austen and her works.

The characters here were super amazing. I would love to meet them if it was possible. I really loved all of the characters in this book. Because all of the characters had something unique to them which made them different from the rest of the character. Which I personally love when it happens.

“The Wide Window” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, If you have not read anything about the Baudelaire orphans, then before you read even one more sentence, you should know this: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are kindhearted and quick-witted; but their lives, I am sorry to say, are filled with bad luck and misery. All of the stories about these three children are unhappy and wretched, and this one may be the worst of them all. If you haven’t got the stomach for a story that includes a hurricane, a signalling device, hungry leeches, cold cucumber soup, a horrible villain, and a doll named Pretty Penny, then this book will probably fill you with despair. I will continue to record these tragic tales, for that is what I do. You, however, should decide for yourself whether you can possibly endure this miserable story.

This book is the third book in the “A Series of Unfortunate events”. And I gotta say that I continue to love this series.

The plot in this book is amazing. It’s interesting, enjoyable and sad at the same time. Violet, Klaus and Sunny are still followed by Count Olaf. And Count Olaf have more schemes to do.

The characters here are getting better than they were in the first book. Violet, Klaus and Sunny are so much better than they were in the first book. You can truly see the character development happening.

When it comes to Count Olaf, his schemes are getting better. Which at the same time is very good but also you make sad for the main characters.

However I wish we could see more from the weirdos in Count Olaf’s trop. Because I would love to learn more about the set of weird characters from his trop.

This book is as gloomy, eerie and dark as the first and second book in this series. Which really makes me love to continue this series because it continues to have the same eerie and dark vibe which the first book in this series had.

The writing style is amazing just as in the previous books in this series. If I dare to say, the writing style is even better than in the first book.

However I wish that this book just as in this series, did make it obvious that Count Olaf will turn up at some point. It would have been so better if Count Olaf just showed up suddenly.

“The Reptile Room” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, If you have picked up this book with the hope of finding a simple and cheery tale, I’m afraid you have picked up the wrong book altogether. The story may seem cheery at first, when the Baudelaire children spend time in the company of some interesting reptiles and a giddy uncle, but don’t be fooled. If you know anything at all about the unlucky Baudelaire children, you already know that even pleasant events lead down the same road to misery.

This book is just as amazing as the first book in this series.

This book is very short just as the first book, and I personally read it in one sitting and I loved every second of it as I did with the first book. And a part of me didn’t want this book to end because I’ve enjoyed it so much.

Before starting reading this book I had a fear that the series will go down in quality but the opposite happened. Because tis book is even better than the first book in this series which really made me love this series so much more.

The plot in this book is even better and more amazing than in the first book. There is more sadness and unfortunate events in this book. But there is also more schemes from Count Olaf which makes it more fun but at the same time more sad.

The character here are amazing. Violent, Klaus and Sunny are still the amazing characters as they were in the first book. Count Olaf is still up to his schemes. And we get a new character in this book which is Dr. Montgomery Montgomery which is a distant relative to Violent, Klaus and Sunny.

Dr. Montgomery Montgomery is the perfect guardian to the children but of course there is tragedy. Which is very sad, because after the kids receiving some happiness while living with Dr. Montgomery Montgomery, Count Olaf shows up and tragedy tricks the kids.

The writing style here is amazing. Because is easy and simple which means that it can be read by both children and adults.

This series so far is very interesting, enjoyable and sad. And it doesn’t fail to capture your full attention and keep you reading until the last page.

“The Bad Beginning” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, I’m sorry to say that the book you are holding in your hands is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about three very unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when the children are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune.

I finally found the best series to read if you are looking for a series with no happy ending and where there is a lot of things happening but all of these things which take place aren’t good.

The plot here is very interesting, enjoyable and it really is good at fully grading your attention and focus and not letting you until you finish the book.

This book is very short, and I personally read it in one sitting and I loved every second of it. And a part of me didn’t want this book to end because I’ve enjoyed it so much.

If you watched the series on Netflix with Neil Patrick Harris, then you must read this book since its even netter than the Netflix series.

The plot in this book is where the parents to Violet, Klaus and Sunny die in a house fire and leave their 3 children as orphans with big fortune belonging to their dead parents. After the parents die, the children get involved in a spiral of sad, tragic and unfortunate events.

The plot here is simple which means that children can read it to as well as adults. However if you read it as an adult you will find it eerie at times and you will notice more details than the younger readers.

The characters here are very good, because they feel like they are real human beings. And they have something unique to them which makes them very easy to tell apart and to fully adore.

Count Olaf is very evil and is fully of evil schemes to get his hands on the kids’s fortune. There is something very uneasy about him due to his actions and mistreating the main characters who are children and his focus being solely about their money.

The writing style here is amazing. Because is easy and simple which means that it can be read by both children and adults.

I really wish that I’ve read this book as a child because after reading this book I found what was missing in my childhood. And it is of course this book.

“The Complete Grimm’s Fairy Tales” By Jacob Grimm & Wilhelm Grimm Review

Originally titled Children’s and Household Tales, The Complete Grimm’s Fairy Tales contains the essential bedtime stories for children worldwide for the better part of two centuries. The Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm, were German linguists and cultural researchers who gathered legendary folklore and aimed to collect the stories exactly as they heard them. 2012 marked the 200th anniversary of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and what better way to celebrate than to include all 211 stories into the Knickerbocker Classic Series?

If you heard or read some of the classic tales for children then I would say that they are this book is a must read.

To be fully honest reading this book is a pure enjoyment and pleasure because it is very nostalgic to return to some tales and stories I’ve heard when I was very small but this time in their original version which is slightly different from the version kids now hear and read with their parents.

The majority of the tales in this book are dark in a way, but to be honest I liked them much better in this original form because I am a huge horror fan. These tales are dark but they won’t raise in you the fear but rather introduce you the gothic vibe in a way but also this old time vibe which I personally am a huge fan of.

Both all of the stories and the illustrations in this book are just amazing and magical in a way. For me it was like returning to childhood again.

This book is very quick and enjoyable read. And the cover which I personally have is to die for.

All of the tales in this book were written 1800s ish and you can truly feel the old vibe to all of the stories which really gives these stories more fun and more unique vibe.

The writing style in all of the stories are very good and it really gives you the old time vibe as I’ve said before.

“Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” By Ransom Riggs Review

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow-impossible though it seems-they may still be alive. A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

Oh my god, this book was amazing. It really gave the biggest nostalgia to childhood and the books I used to read back then. This book has adventure, danger, good characters and basically all you want in all a good fantasy book.

This book and the plot of it gives the biggest Harry Potter and x-men combined vibe. Because this book involves friends, kids with special abilities and adventure feeling to it. This book is also mysterious, weird in a sense and intriguing.

The beginning of it started big but then after like 25 pages it went boring and then the it got back up to the interesting and enjoyable part on the last 1/3 of this book.

The characters here feels like real human beings. And the characters in this book feel like I wouldn’t have any problems with getting along with them which doesn’t happen often for me in fantasy books.

90% of all the characters in this book are children or teenagers, and we get to follow the plot through eyes of a teenager and it somehow made this entire book and plot more interesting.

The plot here is super mysterious at the first 1 / 3 of this book and we as readers don’t know what’s happening. But then as the book continues we learn more and more until we eventually fall in love with this book.

The plot in this book is very unique and different. Which really made me love this book much more.

In this book we also get illustration or rather old pictures which add even more to this book. Which really adds more unique feeling to this book.

The writing style in this book was very easy and it really didn’t take a lot of brain power to enjoy it.

“The Storks” By Hans Christian Andersen Review

“One of you will be hanged, the second imprisoned, the third burned and the fourth turned upside down.” This is how the children mocked the family of storks that lived on the roof. This frightened the chicks and, to reassure them, their mother spoke of the long journey they would soon take. And, who knows, perhaps one day they would have their revenge on the little tyrants who mocked them in their nest.

This one is the first story written by Hans Christian Andersen which ive read. And I gotta say that I loved it.

This story have something unique about it, which really makes it to stand out.

The moral of the story is great but of course I won’t ruin the fun for people who haven’t read this one with spoiler talk.

Some people after reading this short story might say that storks are malicious or evil but the real bad guys in this story are humans as they always are.

This story is very short and can be read in 5 minutes at the very worse.

The writing style here is very easy but at the same its very thick in old English.

“The Tales of Beedle the Bard” By J.K. Rowling Review

“The Tales of Beedle the Bard” contains five richly diverse fairy tales, each with its own magical character, that will variously bring delight, laughter and the thrill of mortal peril. Additional notes for each story penned by Professor Albus Dumbledore will be enjoyed by Muggles and wizards alike, as the Professor muses on the morals illuminated by the tales, and reveals snippets of information about life at Hogwarts.

This book is another amazing book from the Wizarding World which for sure is an amazing addition to your bookshelf.

This book is very short but of course it is full with fun little satires from the Wizarding World. There are 5 children stories in this book which every wizards have read to their children for decades.

All of these stories which are presented to us gives the biggest Wizarding World vibes. Maybe not the same vibe as the original Harry Potter books but you can still feel like these stories are very heavily linked to the Wizarding World which I personally loved it.

Each of these short stories if you will tells us a different life moral like don’t lie, be brave, help people etc.

The writing style here is amazing and it totally feels like it was written by someone in the Wizarding World and that the notes in this book also feels like they were written by Albus Dumbledore. Which really made me love this book even more because you can truly see that amount of effort put into this book.

“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” By L. Frank Baum Review

Swept away from her home in Kansas by a tornado, Dorothy and her dog Toto find themselves stranded in the fantastical Land of Oz. As instructed by the Good Witch of the North and the Munchkins, Dorothy sets off on the yellow brick road to try and find her way to the Emerald City and the Wizard of Oz, who can help her get home. With her companions the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy experiences an adventure full of friendship, magic and danger. A much-loved children’s classic, The Wizard of Oz continues to delight readers young and old with its enchanting tale of witches, flying monkeys and silver shoes.

This book was so good that I don’t have words good enough to describe this book and how good it was.

The plot in this book gave me the biggest nostalgia to my childhood. And to the time when all children wants magic to be real. This book is the perfect place to go to when you want to re-live the childhood nostalgia.

The plot here was super interesting, enjoyable and it is a page turner. And the plot really surprised me because it in a way different than the movies and the musical. I mean different in a very positive way.

This book is really quick to read because it has around 150 pages but of course the page amount depends on the edition of this book. But this book can be fully read in one sitting.

The characters in this book were super relatable and super amazing to follow throughout the book. Every character have something to them which makes them unlike the rest of the characters. And of course the characters really stays in your mind after finishing this book.

The writing style here was very easy and its clear from the writing style that this book is meant for grade school kids. But it really is still very good even if you read this book as an adult.

To be fully honest this book is the second best classic book I’ve read so far in my life. And this book got me more interesting in reading more classic books even thou the majority of the classic books I read I end up not liking.
