“Notes on a Nervous Planet” By Matt Haig Review

The societies we live in are increasingly making our minds ill, making it feel as though the way we live is engineered to make us unhappy. When Matt Haig developed panic disorder, anxiety, and depression as an adult, it took him a long time to work out the ways the external world could impact his mental health in both positive and negative ways. Notes on a Nervous Planet collects his observations, taking a look at how the various social, commercial and technological “advancements” that have created the world we now live in can actually hinder our happiness. Haig examines everything from broader phenomena like inequality, social media, and the news; to things closer to our daily lives, like how we sleep, how we exercise, and even the distinction we draw between our minds and our bodies.

This book has to be easily the best self help book I’ve read so far. This book literally consumed me while I was reading it and I found it very hard trying to pull myself away from this book, because it was so interesting.

This book was the first book ive read from Matt Haig and I need to say that I will read the rest of his books soon, because I absolutely loved this book and how it was written as well as how easy and understandable the author makes this book. If his books are as good as this one he will become my favorite author very easily.

This book makes a lot of good points about mental health and how to navigate our mental health in the era of instagram, Facebook, twitter, consumerism and internet in general. Which becomes a more and more relevant topic as more of our lives take place on the internet.

As someone who is dealing with panic attacks and depression I need to say that this book is very helpful and really motivates you to get your life back together even if it may seem very very hard or impossible at times.

As I’ve said above this book is very easy and simple to understand, which is a big reason why I love this book so much because even if this book uses a big words, the author takes the time to explain the term in a smooth and easy way. And the big words in this book are very rare because the author uses a very understandable language and not a lot of complex terms.

In this book, the author shares with us his personal experience dealing with mental health and what helped him and what he still struggles with decades later dealing with his mental health problems. Which really makes it relatable if you are struggling with your mental health and makes you realize that you aren’t the only one struggling even if it may seem like you are the only one.

This book shows you how you can take small steps when it comes with dealing with mental health problems, which may seem too small to matter what they will matter in the long run.

This book also inspired me to take a break from social media and try to quite the process of mindlessly scrolling through instagram, twitter or Tik Tok for hours each day and rather pick up a book.

The writings style here was amazing, it was like the author knew what words to use to fully grab my attention and to not let it go until the very end of this book. Which I complete love when it happens in books, but more so in non-fiction books.

When it comes to the ending of this book I thin it was a little bit weaker than the rest of this book, it wasn’t super bad or horrible but you could feel like this book gets a little bit worse during the last chapter of this book.

“The Snowman” By Jo Nesbø Review

Oslo in November. The first snow of the season has fallen. A boy named Jonas wakes in the night to find his mother gone. Out his window, in the cold moonlight, he sees the snowman that inexplicably appeared in the yard earlier in the day. Around its neck is his mother’s pink scarf. Hole suspects a link between a menacing letter he’s received and the disappearance of Jonas’s mother – and of perhaps a dozen other women, all of whom went missing on the day of a first snowfall. As his investigation deepens, something else emerges: he is becoming a pawn in an increasingly terrifying game whose rules are devised – and constantly revised – by the killer.

This book is the 7th book in the “Harry Hole” series, and in my opinion this book is the best book in this series so far, but I have still a few books from this series to read.

The plot in this book was very interesting and enjoyable. There was a lot of thing happening in this book, and from start to finish you were left sitting on the edge of your sit because of the tension which was going on this book.

The plot was very intense because of everything which was happening in this book and I personally loved it. The plot in this book really shines bright in this whole “Harry Hole” series.

The characters here are amazing, each character in this book is very unique and have something which sets them apart from the rest of the character. When it comes to Harry Hole, he truly shines in this book and for me personally in this book he is more than a drunk who is a police detective.

The writing style in this book is very good, because its like the author know what words to use to completely suck me into this book and to not let me go until the very end of this book.  Which I truly love when it happens in books.

When it comes to the ending of this book, and the whole process of catching the killer is very intestate and big. And wow, I’m just left speechless after reading the ending of this book because it was so amazing.

This book also made me somehow paranoid about snow mans, because if I’m gonna see a snow man in real life from this moment on, I will think about this book and about the killer in this book.

“Library of Souls” By Ransom Riggs Review

As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children.

This book is the third book in the “Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children” series and I need to say that this book is my favorite book in this series so far at least. At the same time this book is the longest book in this series so far.

The plot here is just wow, I didn’t expect the plot to be better than in the second and first book but the author proves me wrong and writes an much better plot in this book than what we got in the first and second books in this series.

There is a a lot of action in this book, and wow I cant wrap my head around how many things happened in this book. There is a lot of things going down in this book, and there are a lot of plot twists in this book.

There is a lot of action in this book from the very first page of this book to the very last page of this book. And I completely loved this fact, because throughout this entire book you will sit at the edge of your sit and wonder what will happen next.

The characters in this book are so much better than they were in the first book, and I just cant help it but fall in love with them with each book in this series. Because the character development is huge in this book as the whole series in general.

Jacob becomes a perfect main character, because he starts of not knowing anything about the peculiar children thing and now in this book he just like wow, I cant say much about how it turns out in this book because I will spoil a lot of things from this book for people who haven’t read this book yet.

The writing in this book is just as amazing as in the previous books in this series. And this means that the writing style feels like the author knows exactly what words to use to completely grab my attention and suck me into the story and not let me go until the very end.

The ending in this book is very big and there is a lot of things happening at the end which really blow my mind. At the same time the ending we get in this book is very satisfying. And I cant believe still how incredible the ending was.

“Hollow City” By Ransom Riggs Review

September 3, 1940. Ten peculiar children flee an army of deadly monsters. And only one person can help them – but she’s trapped in the body of a bird. The extraordinary journey that began in “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” continues as Jacob Portman and his newfound friends journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. There, they hope to find a cure for their beloved headmistress, Miss Peregrine.

This book is the second book in the “Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children” series, and so far being two books deep into this series and I cant help it but be absolutely in love with this series. Because so far, this series is getting better and better.

The plot in this book is just wow, there is so much happening in this book and with every page you read you get more and more sucked into this book. The plot is very unique and very very interesting and engaging.

The characters here are amazing, I love so much. There is a huge character development here, which I personally love a lot. And a lot of characters here have their unique personality and something which makes you care about them and identify with them.

The fact that Jacob is new to this entire peculiar children thing, makes it so much better for us as readers because we learn new things along side Jacob and we get to see everything happen through his perspective which I personally love a lot.

The writing style here is amazing because its like the author knows what words to use to suck you into it, and to not let it go until the very end and beyond that.

This book continues to expand the universe in this series, and we get much more action outside the loop we began this series with.

The ending here is very good, because it doesn’t live you at a cliffhanger but at the same time it does. The ending is very good and what I wanted from this book. And the ending leaves you with a urge to continue this series as fast as possible so of course when I finished this book I picked book 3 right away.

“Ignite Me” By Tahereh Mafi Review

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

This book is the third book in the “Shatter Me” series, and I need to say it again, Im loving this series more and more, with each book I read in this series.

To be fully honest, this book was an emotional roller coaster, which I loved a lot. There were huge love triangle drama in this book, and Juliette final made a final decision in her love triangle thing going on.

The beginning of this book was slow, but it was very very enjoyable to read. And the further you got in this book the more and more action this book began to have. Which really was very interesting and enjoyable. And while reading this book I lost all track of time because I was so sucked into this book.

The character became even better in this book, and if you compare the characters in this book with the same characters in the first book then you will see the huge character development which every character had got in this series.

The characters here are so unique, and they feel like real human beings, which really made me fall in love with them so much more. The characters in this book have depth, their own thoughts and opinions.

The plot in this book was wow where should I begin with it? There was so much happening in this book, even thou the beginning was slow it was still a lot of things happening there to keep you entrained.

The writing style here was amazing, because it was like the author knew what words to use to grab out attention and to not let it go to the very end.

“Unite Me” By Tahereh Mafi Review

Destroy Me tells the events between Shatter Me and Unravel Me from Warner’s point of view. Even though Juliette shot him in order to escape, Warner can’t stop thinking about her–and he’ll do anything to get her back. But when the Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment arrives, he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner cannot allow. Fracture Me is told from Adam’s perspective and bridges the gap between Unravel Me and Ignite Me. As the Omega Point rebels prepare to fight the Sector 45 soldiers, Adam’s more focused on the safety of Juliette, Kenji, and his brother. The Reestablishment will do anything to crush the resistance… including killing everyone Adam cares about.

This book has two separate books in it which are both Destroy Me and Fracture Me, which I’ve already reviewed few days ago.

This book is really nice because it contains two separate books, which makes you buy just one book instead of two books. Which means you save money and space on the bookshelf.

In my opinion Destroy Me is much better than Fracture Me. Because I found Warner’s perspective is so much better than Adam’s perspective. And because I like Warner much more than Adam.

Fracture Me, wasn’t what I’ve expected even from Adam’s perspective. Because he spend the 2 precious books in this series trying to prove himself to Juliette but when she gets taken by Warner’s father, and Adam’s little brother is in danger at the same time. He just doesn’t give a damn about Juliette and acts like she doesn’t matter anymore. I get it, you go save your little brother and then have the rest of the gang to go after Juliette. But don’t insist on everyone going to save your little brother even thou your group can split in half. But thats just one of my many problems with Adam.

The writing style in both Destroy Me and Fracture Me, is incredible. Ive said it before but im gonna say it again. Tahereh Mafi is an incredible writer. Because its like she knows what words to use to grab our attention and to not let it go before the very end of the book and still making us wanting more.

“Destroy Me” By Tahereh Mafi Review

Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.

This book is written from Warner’s perspective, and I truly loved it because I loved getting to know him better and get a book in this series from his perspective.

Getting to know Warner and getting a part of the bigger story, from his perspective and to get to know the story from his perspective really made me love this whole series so much more.

In this book we get so much more information about Warner and we get to know his thoughts and feelings that it makes us feel like his very complex character even thou he doesn’t show his feelings to other characters other than when he and Juliette are alone together.

The fact that we get to know Warner’s thoughts and emotions, made me root for him much more, and because of this he just became my favorite character in this whole series. And because of this thoughts and emotions made me relate to him so much, that I cant even put it into words.

If you are a fan of this series, and haven’t read this book yet, then I have one question for you. And the question is what are you doing ? Read this book, because you wont regret it and this book will make you love this series so much more.

The writing style here is incredible. Because even thou we get Warner’s complex thoughts and emotions in this book, they are written in a very easy and simple way which makes us like him so much more.

The writing style shows how amazing writer Tahereh Mafi is, because reading this book felt like she knew what words to use to suck us into the story and to not let us go until the very end.

“How to Avoid a Climate Disaster” By Bill Gates Review

Bill Gates explains why he cares so deeply about climate change and what makes him optimistic that the world can prevent the worst impacts of the climate crisis. Gates says, “we can work on a local, national, and global level to build the technologies, businesses, and industries to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.” His interest in climate change is a natural outgrowth of the efforts by his foundation to reduce poverty and disease. Climate change, according to Gates, will have the biggest impact on the people who have done the least to cause it.

If you forget the fact that a billionaire is writing about climate change and how we should change our lives to stop climate change then this book is very very good.

It gives us a lot of knowledge how we could change how we create energy to stop destroying the earth. Which really made me enjoy this book.

This book is very particular book if you are interested in the subject of climate change. Because this book doesn’t complain about climate change, what it does is to give you some examples and ideas how we could stop climate change.

The writing style here was very good. It made it interesting and enjoyable. But also it made the whole topic of climate change topic more understandable and easy.

This book gives gives a lot of terms and a lot of information but at the same time it makes it easy to understand. Because it explains the terms and the information which means that you don’t have to look them up on the Internet.

At the same time this book is very optimistic in the way that we can actually change things to stop climate change without making our lives miserable or even change our lives in a very huge way.

This book is also gives us reason why still so many people choose fossil, and that is because it is cheaper than the eco ways available right now.

“Astrophysics for People in a Hurry” By Neil deGrasse Tyson Review

What is the nature of space and time? How do we fit within the universe? How does the universe fit within us? But today, few of us have time to contemplate the cosmos. So Tyson brings the universe down to Earth succinctly and clearly, with sparkling wit, in tasty chapters consumable anytime and anywhere in your busy day.

I need to admit that this book has been laying on my shelves for 5 years before I actually got to read it. And now I finally have read it.

As the title of this book might suggest, this book is about astrophysics explained in nice, easy, simple and quick way. Which I loved a lot.

The basic of astrophysics was very easily explained in this book, but at the same time it was explained in a very interesting and enjoyable way. And before I knew it I read this book in one sitting. Which really shows how well this book was done.

As you might know Neil deGrasse Tyson has a lot of books he have written, but this one was my first book by him. And after reading this book I need to say that I will be ordering the rest of his books of amazon after finishing this review.

You wont waist any time on this book because it so knowledgeable and you will learn a lot from this book even thou it has barely over 200 pages.

And wishing those few pages he explains the entirety of space and time.

As you might know astrophysics is a very complex and huge topic which may take years to fully get the hang of it, and this book gives you a starting point in astrophysics.

Even thou this book is written in a easy and simple way it still is complicated stuff as you might expect from astrophysics.

The writing style in this book was very good. The writing style is what makes this book so interesting and enjoyable because its like Neil deGrasse Tyson knows what words to use to get your attention and get you interested in astrophysics.
