Who are you? What have we done to each other? These are the questions Nick Dunne finds himself asking on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police suspect Nick. Amy’s friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn’t true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they weren’t made by him. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone.

I had very high expectations for this book because of all the good things I’ve heard about this book. But unfortunately this one didn’t live up to my expectations. After reading this book I think that this book is very over hyped because it isn’t as good as people claim it to be.

The plot in my opinion is very weak, is very boring and uninteresting and it is way too long. The entire plot could have been cut in half and do much better. The plot sidetracks a lot in this book in the way that it talks about the main plot and then suddenly it just switches to something else which happened few years ago which doesn’t have anything to do with the main plot which really annoyed me.

The characters in this book were very annoying, because all the female character and even police just seemed like they knew Nick had killed his wife especially in the beginning when she first went missing and where there were absolutely no evidence that Nick had killed his wife. Its very sexist if you ask me, because it was like everyone believed Nick had killed his wife just because he was the husband.

When it comes to the two main character which of course are Nick and Amy were very far from being the good main characters. Both Nick and Amy were very flat and uninteresting. 

But Amy especially was a character I truly hated because she is psychopath and not in a good way. She just does shit just because she wants to be the center of the universe, she just wants everything t revolve around her and if she doesn’t get the attention from you well some very bad shit will happen for you.

And Nick in my opinion is just bad character as well because he isn’t trying to do anything to stop his bad shit crazy wife and even try to leave. Like your wife tried to blame you for murdering her and make you get (in the best case scenario) life in prison or (in the worst case scenario) get a death sentence. And you still love her and stay with her and pretend like nothing happened ? Its not what I would have done in this case.

The writing style here was very boring and chaotic. I don’t know what it is but there was something about the writing style which really really annoyed me. Because it is a strange thing because I already read one book by this author before reading this one and I liked that previous this book but I absolutely hate this one.
