“Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” by Michael Wolff Review

With extraordinary access to the West Wing, Michael Wolff reveals what happened behind-the-scenes in the first nine months of the most controversial presidency of our time in Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House. Since Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, the country―and the world―has witnessed a stormy, outrageous, and absolutely mesmerizing presidential term that reflects the volatility and fierceness of the man elected Commander-in-Chief.

This book gives us amazing details about Trump’s first 9 months presidency, which was far from the best presidency’s in the history in the world. Not because of his politics or his showmanship but because there was pure chaos in the white house these 4 years, people staff all over the place without any purpose, people not doing the work which they were assigned to do and so on.

This book made me realise that Trump’s presidency was more terrifying than I’ve expected. But it also lets us know what we all expected which of course is the incompetence of the Trump administration.

The writing style in this book was amazing, like someone was telling me this instead of reading a book. Which I give this book points for. But there were times where I felt like the writing style was very heavy especially with all the information which it was giving us about the tragedy of Trump administration and Trump himself as president at times.

I gotta be honest here and say that this book doesn’t challenge your assumptions. Because it told us everything we pretty much assumed about Trump’s presidency and his staff and all the dramas.

It was a fun, interesting and super knowledge read. And it gives us many behind the scene information about how Trump’s mind work and how he was like the president who didn’t knew what he was doing for 4 years.

I gotta also give credit to Sean Spicer who really concluded in a perfect way Trump’s presidency by saying “you can’t make this shit up.” Which is true in the case of the 45th president on the USA.

“Dracula” By Bram Stoker Review

A rich selection of background and source materials is provided in three areas: Contexts includes probable inspirations for Dracula in the earlier works of James Malcolm Rymer and Emily Gerard. Also included are a discussion of Stoker’s working notes for the novel and “Dracula’s Guest,” the original opening chapter to Dracula. Reviews and Reactions reprints five early reviews of the novel. “Dramatic and Film Variations” focuses on theater and film adaptations of Dracula, two indications of the novel’s unwavering appeal. David J. Skal, Gregory A. Waller, and Nina Auerbach offer their varied perspectives. Checklists of both dramatic and film adaptations are included.

I had high expectations for this book because it is a classic and I’ve heard dozens of good feedback and reviews about this book. And I gotta say that this book lived up to my high expectations.

The writing style was amazing. And the old English really helped to set the mood for this book and made the whole plot even better.

The plot here was just amazing, I felt like a real life story in a way which I love when this happens in horror stories especially with Draculas and other classic monsters like mummies, Frankenstein and the non than the count Dracula himself.

The victorian horror is the thing I love the most in books and TV shows. And the fact that this is a classic made this entire book and plot even better.

This book is a masterpiece which everyone should read at one point. Because many horror books and TV shows have been influenced by masterpieces like this one.

“Gałęziste” By Artur Urbanowicz Review

Don’t believe anything you see or hear. There is a house where you don’t want to spend the night. For some reason, the darkness in it is different. Even more sinister than anywhere else. There is a lake where the undead live. Their advantage over you is simple – they don’t need to take a breath. There is a demon that you wish you didn’t know existed. An immaterial personification of evil that cannot be escaped. There is a place where this house is located. A place in the heart of which this lake is also hidden, and where this demon has always been. It’s a forest. A forest in which you would not want to get lost for anything in the world. Once you enter it, it won’t let you leave.

To be fair here I didn’t have any exceptions for this book. Which really made me enjoy this book more. All I knew about this book was that it had a cool cover and that it was written by an author which work I’ve read once before and I completely loved the book.

The plot in this book was just wow. It was amazing, it was like a regular horror story taking place in the woods but it had a very unique new perspective to it which I truly loved. And that it takes place in Poland makes it even more fun for someone like me who is from Poland. But there were times where the plot was too predictable which didn’t go well with me.

The writing style could have been better, which brought the atmosphere in this book down. Which really sucks because if the writing was better then this book would have been a banger.

The most annoying thing with this book is that it was so slow, and true action didn’t really happen until the second half of this book. It really annoyed me because the first half was many times so boring and it was nothing but drama between the 2 main characters.

The characters were okay here. I don’t like them at all. The main characters really annoyed me because there were making so stupid choices some times. And I couldn’t really relate to them, because the main female character was to hardcore religions and the main male character was acting like a child for 90% of this book. But there were few times were I could relate to them. The 2 main characters are adults but in the fist half of this book were acting like teenagers who are in relationship but don’t want to break up because they have been together for couple of years.

The ending had some good twists there. Which I truly loved in this book. But the main twist at the end was so god damn an obvious that even a child could have seen it coming.

After all it was an okay read but nothing too extraordinary. There were couple of things which didn’t work for me and there were couple of things which I enjoyed a lot.

“You Love Me” By Caroline Kepnes Review

Joe is done with the cities. He’s done with the muck and the posers, done with Love. Now, he’s saying hello to nature, to simple pleasures on a cozy island in the Pacific Northwest. For the first time in a long time, he can just breathe. He gets a job at the local library—he does know a thing or two about books—and that’s where he meets her: Mary Kay DiMarco. Librarian. Joe won’t meddle; he will not obsess. He’ll win her the old-fashioned way: by providing a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand. Over time, they’ll both heal their wounds and begin their happily ever after in this sleepy town. The trouble is, Mary Kay already has a life. She’s a mother. She’s a friend. She’s busy.

I was super excited to read this book because I loved the first two books in this series and I had high expectations for this book. AndI gotta say that this book didn’t live up to all of mine expectations for it.

After reading this book I gotta say that the series is going downhill, unfortunately. The first book in this series was amazing, the second book was less amazing than the first but still amazing and this book was just okay. Which is a huge disappointed to me.

The writing style is still amazing which really made me glad to see. Because the writing style in this series is really the whole spirit of why I like it so much as I do. The writing style is very enjoyable, super engaging and it really it makes you see everything you read in your head.

The plot in this book is good enough. But I gotta say that it could have been better because after all we are talking about a book series about the infamous Joe Goldberg. What I’m trying to say is that the plot isn’t good enough for Joe Goldberg. Of course, it had some good moments here and there but still that wasn’t enough.

This book reveals what happened what happened after The Hidden Bodies had ended and it really disappointed me what have happened after the actions in the second books. Because after I read The Hidden Bodies I was really rooting for Joe to finally have some happiness in this life.

In my opinion this book shows that Joe becomes too soft after becoming a father between the end of The Hidden Bodies and the beginning of this book. And that thing really annoyed me for whatever reason.

Also it seems like this character focuses more on other characters instead of Joe. And as you might think I didn’t go well with me. Because when I picked up this book I wanted to read more about Joe and less about other characters which not gonna be in the rest of the series or at least no gonna have major role in the rest of the series.

It also annoyed me that the author of this book had made Joe a victim at the end instead of the guilty one. And it also seemed like everything had turned out way too connivant for Joe without him doing anything major.

However, I’ve still enjoyed it and had fun reading this one. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed the first two books but still I’ve enjoyed it.

However, I think that this book will be the place where a lot of fans really fall away from this series. Which is sad because this problem could have been avoided if the plot was more about Joe and the monster he is rather than poor Joe who isn’t telling the full picture to his new obsession.

And the two twists at the end aren’t that good as they could be of they were presented to us in a different way.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald: The Original Screenplay” By J.K. Rowling Review

At the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

This is the second book in the Fantastic Beasts book series which are the original screenplay from the movies.

In this book we get introduced to French Ministry of Magic and new fantastic animals from the Wizarding World which makes me love this book even more.

The characters here are so fucking awesome, and so well done and presented to us. But that’s just the thing with the Harry Potter universe because every character in this universe are so well written that they feel like real people who I wouldn’t have any problem being best friends with.

The fact that we keep learning more and more about Newt Scamander, Jacob Kowalski and Gellert Grindelwald makes me love this book and this series so much more. And the more I read and learn more about the trio I just can’t help it but love them more and more. And I find myself relating more and more to Newt Scamander after watching and reading the Fantastic Beasts series.

I gotta be honest and confess that Gellert Grindelwald might be on my top ranking of favourite characters from Harry Potter universe along side Severus Snape. I think that Severus Snape and Gellert Grindelwald are both underrated characters in the Wizarding world. It might be an unpopular opinion but now you know it.

The twist with Credence is so good, that it made me give more points to this book and the whole series. But of course you could see the twist before it happened when the tale with Phoenix was mentioned.

The writing is the original screenplay so I’m not gonna talk about it because I’m not a screen writer and I don’t know how to review them.

The plot was fucking awesome, and it was sort of like being a part of this story because you were following the characters so well.

There are couple of inconsistencies in this book and the whole Fantastic Beasts series but I love the Wizarding wording so of course it won’t bring it down for me.

And we finally get some scenes from Hogwarts while Dumbledore was still a professor and not the headmaster. And the fact that we learn more about Dumbledore is just brilliant.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay” By by J.K. Rowling Review

When Magizoologist Newt Scamander arrives in New York, he intends his stay to be just a brief stopover. However, when his magical case is misplaced and some of Newt’s fantastic beasts escape, it spells trouble for everyone. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, author of the beloved and internationally bestselling Harry Potter books. Featuring a cast of remarkable characters, this is epic, adventure-packed storytelling at its very best.

We been waiting for a long time for new Harry Potter books and finally they are here. Of course this is a screenplay of the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them but it was still super fun to read it. Ive watched the movie when it first came out and since that time I forgot things which have happened in it and this book was a good reminder of what have happened.

This book was super fun to read and it was super interesting and enjoyable as well. I couldn’t stop reading it because it was so interesting and so fun to read it.

Of course we can’t talk much about the writing style and the way it was written because it is a screenplay book of a movie so there are some limitations on how this book can be written. But I’ve still enjoyed it and I had fun reading it.

This book as well as the movie brings the Harry Potter universe to more adult level than the original 7 books of the Harry Potter series. And I loved it. And the fact that we learn more about characters and events before Harry Potter have been born brings more to universe and it makes it feel more real.

The characters here or so brilliant and awesome. We learn more about important characters in the Harry Potter universe like Newt Scamander, Credence Barebone, Gellert Grindelwald and many more. By learning more about the characters the Harry Potter world becomes so much real and so much interesting.

The fact that the Harry Potter world expends and grows with the readers makes this series so unique.

The friendship between Newt Scamander and Jacob Kowalski reminds me of the friendship between Ron and Harry but also in a way the friendship between Newt and Jacob is unique because as we all know Newt is a wizard and Jacob is a mugle.

The fact that we get introduced to more creatures from the Harry Potter world really makes this books as well as the movie so much more unique because it really shows us that the wizarding world is so much bigger than we thought when the first Harry Potter book came out.

“Werewolf” By Ed And Lorraine Warren Review

The legend of the werewolf is as old as man himself. From Ed and Lorraine Warren, the world’s most famous demonologists, comes perhaps their most incredible and horrifying case: the true story of William Ramsey, whose bizarre seizures terrified the English town of Southend-on-Sea. Believing Ramsey to be a victim of demonic possession, the Warrens arranged for the rite of exorcism to be performed. Not since the exorcist shocked the nation has there been such a such a horrifying account of a supernatural battle between good and evil within the soul of one human.

So this was book written by none other than Ed and Lorraine Warren. Frankly I didn’t know about this case until I picked up this book. Ive watched all the movies in the Ed and Lorraine Warren Cinematic Universe and this book is a nice little additional resource to the cinematic universe of Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Ive mention it before on this website that I’m a huge skeptic so I don’t believe that the stuff which is written in this book is real and that it happen. I just treated it like a good horror story as it should be treated.

Im gonna believe in demons, ghosts etc when I see them with my own eyes without being under the influence of anything. Until then the Cinematic Universe of Ed and Lorraine Warren will just be for me good horror stories for horror movies.

The writing style in this one was super incredible, it really shows that Ed and Lorraine Warren were good writers and good story tellers if you will.

When it comes to the highlight of this book which was the exorcism of William Ramsey then it was super short which really disappointed me because it could have been longer.

However when it comes to William Ramsey then he felt more like he had schizophrenia not that he was possessed by a animal spirit or whatever you want to call it.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” By J.K. Rowling Review

It’s no longer safe for Harry at Hogwarts, so he and his best friends, Ron and Hermione, are on the run. Professor Dumbledore has given them clues about what they need to do to defeat the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort, once and for all, but it’s up to them to figure out what these hints and suggestions really mean. Their cross-country odyssey has them searching desperately for the answers, while evading capture or death at every turn. At the same time, their friendship, fortitude, and sense of right and wrong are tested in ways they never could have imagined. The ultimate battle between good and evil that closes out this final chapter of the epic series takes place where Harry’s Wizarding life began: at Hogwarts. The satisfying conclusion offers shocking last-minute twists, incredible acts of courage, powerful new forms of magic, and the resolution of many mysteries. Above all, this intense, cathartic book serves as a clear statement of the message at the heart of the Harry Potter series: that choice matters much more than destiny, and that love will always triumph over death

And yet again we are talking about an amazing Harry Potter book and it really hurts to say that this is the last book in the series.

This book gave the series the ending which it deserved. Of course the ending is said because there are some very popular characters among the fans of this series who die. But this book really gives the the satisfaction that it is a fucking good end to a series which is so amazing as it possible gets.

And the fact that we learn much more about Severus Snape in this book was what I’ve been waiting for since the first book in this series. And by learning more about him we see that he had much more impact on the whole series than we first thought. Which really made my whole day because as some of you might know he is my all time favourite character from the whole series.

We also learned more about Dumbledore which was the best thing which possibly could happen because we learned that Dumbledore wasn’t really the all-good character and it changed my opinion about him. I went from liking him to just being “fuck this guy”. And it was because he was raising Harry Potter and teaching him to just wanting to kill him at the proper moment for the greater good. No one in their right mind would do that because how could you do that to a 17 year old child?

The writing style is really the best because as you read the book you can see everything which is described in this book in your head. Which really takes a brilliant author to make it happen.

In this book there is a much more action than it was in the previous books in this series which I truly liked because you really couldn’t stop reading and once you started to read you just will not be able to stop.

The only thing which pissed me off in this book was that some of the characters which I truly loved have been killed off. And that’s the only thing which I didn’t like about this book.

After reading this book I’m kind of bipolar on it because im sad that the series is done but at the same time I’m glad that it is the last book because it was an amazing adding to Harry Potter series.

I give this book 5 / 5

“King Lear” By William Shakespeare Review

The play tells us about families struggling between greed and cruelty, on the one hand, and support and consolation, on the other. Emotions are extreme, magnified to gigantic proportions. We also see old age portrayed in all its vulnerability, pride, and, perhaps, wisdom—one reason this most devastating of Shakespeare’s tragedies is also perhaps his most moving.

So this one was my first play or anything written by William Shakespeare. And I gotta be honest here and say that I wasn’t a fan of this one. I didn’t like it so much that I DNF-ed it at the end because I just couldn’t finish it.

The writing style was really old English which made it hard to understand for someone like me who have English as their third language.

I love the old English when it comes to horror tales but not when it comes to the plays but that’s just my opinion.

The plot but was overall good but it didn’t speak to me so this might explain the low rating and why I DNF-ed it at the end.

I give this play 1 / 5

“Passion” by Louise Bagshawe Review

A failed marriage between Melissa Elmett and Will Hyde did a lot of damage. She was too young, he was hurt when she left him. Years later, Melissa becomes the target for a kidnap plot, a consequence of her father’s ground-breaking energy-saving invention, and Will is the only man who can protect her. Now they’re on the run, thrown together again by the pursuit of vengeance, will their passion for each other reignite?

This book is so confusing because the chapters jump all over the timeline of the book. And there is nothing to indicate if there is past or present you just have to take the hints and determine if it is past or present. I have no problem with multiple timelines in a story, I love it when it is clear like in “IT” by Stephen King if it is past or present.

The beginning was okay for the most part but the moment when the main characters began to be chased around town by professional hitman who have been doing the job for years and for whatever reason that hitman just forgets everything which she learned and just starts to chase the main character around like Leatherface. At that point I just couldn’t read on because this book became so insufferable.

The characters here are okay for the most part. The male main character is okay but he acts like the stereotypical rich guy who is dating all the super models, drives the most expensive cars, live in the best apartment in New York City and just doesn’t give a shit about anyone else but himself. When it comes to the female main character is so confusing and child like. Because she dated the male main character in college and she left him and ever since she left him she is like “I wish that I didn’t leave him but I guess I’m gonna marry the guy who reminds me of my father just because I’m in my 30s and I want kids”. I really didn’t care about any of the characters in this book because they were so fucking unrelatable and they felt like cartoons which may created to make a parody a thriller book or movie. Think about all the stereotypical stupid decisions you can make while a hitman is after you and you will have the main female character.

The writing style was also like super boring and confusing. Because in one paragraph you will be at the female main character’s work while she is working and in the next at a dinner 2 weeks later. The writing in this book is on the level with grade school children who are learning how to write something which will stick together.

The twist in this book were so god damn obvious that you could predict them even before they have happened.

The plot here was bad as well, because it was just all over the place and I just could keep up with it.

I give this book 1 / 5
