“Death in a Strange Country” By Donna Leon Review

Early one morning Commissario Guido Brunetti of the Venice Police confronts a grisly sight when the body of a young man is fished out of a fetid canal. All the clues point to a violent mugging, but for Brunetti the motive of robbery seems altogether too convenient. When something is discovered in the victim’s apartment that suggests the existence of a high-level conspiracy, Brunetti becomes convinced that somebody, somewhere, is taking great pains to provide a ready-made solution to the crime.

This is my second book in the Commissario Brunetti series which isn’t the best mystery series. It is in fact very far from it but it has something to it which makes it special at least to me. The fact that it happens in Venice, Italy aka a small town in Italy makes this series very special because I never come across a mystery series taking place in a small town in Italy.

The plot in this book was good but there were a lots of moments where the author had trailed off and focus on things which wasn’t important for the plot. But the overall plot and the main mystery was very good, but there were a lots of moments which should have been removed from the book because they were just taking us away from the main problem in this book.

The ending here really ruined the entire book because it pretty much went like “that is the guy who killed these people but don’t ask how and with what”. The ending pretty much gave us the killer without explain how he killed people or when or where which really ruined this entire book for me and I know that it will ruin the book for many other people.

There were no twist at the end because it was obvious who the killer was from like page 150 or so.

When it comes to the characters here I really like the main character here which of course is Commissario Guido Brunetti which really makes me want to continue reading this series even when it isn’t good. There are some other side characters which work with the main characters which I also enjoy because they feel like real people in a way but not complete real. However there are some characters here which just seem like they were made to just fill up the page with something.

I give this book 2 / 5

“Love’s Labour’s Lost” By William Shakespeare Review

A well-intentioned king vows to forego all fleshly delights, setting the stage for romantic hijinks. Ferdinand, the king of Navarre, insists that his court join him in a pledge to undertake a strict regimen of study and celibacy. The grudging compliance of three noblemen is sorely tested — as is the king’s own resolve — with the arrival of a French princess and a trio of comedy attendants.

To be fully honest here I cared very little about this play just because in my opinion it wasn’t worth remembering.

The plot in thus poem wasn’t the best. It might be because of the ageing process or that I’m very picky about things what I like.

The Sex jokes together with pedant mockery really made me dislike this play and it really made me want to DNF this play very fast which I didn’t but looking back at it I don’t know why I didn’t DNF it.

The characters here are very flat and uninteresting and they really made me want to stab myself in the eye with something.

This play in my opinion is very flat and boring because. Because there are a lot of things which pissed me off because of the many sex jokes in this play.

I Give Play 2 / 5

“The Phoenix and the Turtle” By William Shakespeare Review

To be honest in this poem William Shakespeare gets a little ahead of himself.

It wasn’t that good and I had bigger expectations for this one than I had for the majority of William Shakespeare’s work. But it didn’t live up to most of my exceptions which disappointed me somehow.

The plot in this poem are in a way about death which the majority of William Shakespeare’s work is about. But this pome takes a little Bit unique take on it which I gave it extra points for.

I Give Poem 2 / 5

“The Passionate Pilgrim” By William Shakespeare Review

The Passionate Pilgrim is a collection of poems and sonnets that were attributed to William Shakespeare upon their publication, though it is unclear which of them were truly written by the bard

This one is a collection of poems and sonnets by William Shakespeare. Most of them were about Venus & Adonis.

Most of these sonnets and poems are pretty boring but there are few which are really good and which I enjoyed a lot.

The writing style there were pretty William Shakespeare ish and they all had the biggest William Shakespeare vibe to them which I enjoyed.

I Give Poem 2 / 5

“Sonnet 150” By William Shakespeare Review

This sonnet is anther average sonnet written by no other than William Shakespeare.

I gotta say that this wasn’t the greatest sonnet ever because the plot here felt like the most generic poem plot ever.

The writing style here was probably the best part of this poem because it was really on the level with William Shakespeare

“Sonnet 146” By William Shakespeare Review

In this sonnet William Shakespeare talks about his soul and why it spends so much time seeking more and more money when it should be concerned about becoming immortal.

Which is a unique plot for a poem but it is still strange in a way at least for me.

I gotta say that this wasn’t the greatest sonnet ever because the plot here felt like the most generic poem plot ever.

In this sonnet William Shakespeare pretty much confesses a litany of failing but begs to have them become forgiven.

In this sonnet William Shakespeare tells us that he is a man of many faults but he was never “false of heart” no matter how many wrong things he have done.
