“Polaris” By H.P. Lovecraft Review

In the story, an unnamed narrator describes his nightly obsession with the Pole star, and his recurring dreams of a city under siege. The narrator struggles with determining whether his reality is real, or if his dream is the true reality. Critics have noted autobiographical elements in the story, and have connected it with Lovecraft’s experiences of uselessness during WW1

The atmosphere here in this one wasn’t great for me because I didn’t quit get it and it felt strange.

The write style in this one was pretty strange and it didn’t feel quit as H.P Lovecraft. And it also felt like it was written by someone who have never written anything before. It could be just be me who is being to harsh for everything I read.

The plot here is pretty basic and not to much to talk about here because there isn’t much which is happening here.

The characters here are also not much to talk about here, because they are super flat and they feels like there is nothing to tell them apart here.

I give this short story 2 / 5

“The City” By H.P. Lovecraft Review

So this is another short story by H.P Lovecraft which really disappointed me. But it surprised me that not a lot of people are talking about this short story it seems like  everyone about forgotten about this one. But lets into the review shall we?

The plot itself in this short story feels like it was written by a high school student in the gothic era. It was bad but it had the gothic vibe to it which I really loved but as a whole I just can’t give it a full score.

The writing style here was poor, and there isn’t much to talk about here as you may expect.

The characters here are also very poor, and I count connect with them at all. Is you might expect the rating to be low.

“The Millionaire Next Door” By Thomas J. Stanley Review

“The Millionaire Next Door” is a book that explains the intricacy of today’s millionaires, people you would be surprised to find wealthy, and the habits and decisions that got them to that wealth level. But, it’s more than just a book about wealth and tips to get there.

As someone who have read this book I can say that this book only teaches you 7 characteristics / common denominators among millionaires in USA. And these 7 things are

1) They live well below their means

2) They allocate their time, energy, and money efficiently, in ways conducive to building wealth

3) They believe that financial independence is more important than displaying high social status

4) Their parents did not provide economic outpatient care

5) Their adult children are economically self-sufficient

6) They are proficient in targeting market opportunities

7) They chose the right occupation

And that’s pretty much all you will get from this book.

Gotta be honest with you and say that so far this book is one of two worst business book I’ve read so far.

The writing style seemed like I was reading a long and boring essay for school home work. Which as you may expect isn’t great.

This book was so very difficult to get through. And it took me 3 weeks to read it. Because it was so uninteresting and boring.

This book only shows that if you are saving 90% of your monthly income for 40 years and you will be rich. I’m not rich but I guess thats not the way on how to get rich.

I give this book 2 / 5

“Think and Grow Rich” By Napoleon Hill Review

This is the original 1937 version of Napoleon Hill’s Classic Book: Think and Grow Rich. To the greatest extent possible, the text and formatting have been kept exactly the same as in the original release with the exception of some minor formatting changes.

So this is a business and self-help book in one. I gotta say that no one should mixed these two genres into one book.

This book makes success seem like it is just “read this book and you will be successful”. Which isn’t how success works as you can imagine. No book without action can make you successful overnight.

The writing style was boring, however there were times when it was interesting for a moment.

This book had some good topics which everyone should no about. Like looking at yourself about what is stopping you to go forward in life. However for the most part this book is a little kooky.

When I bought this book and began reading it I was expecting some kind of practical guide to managing personal finance but it wasn’t that.

I picked up this book because almost everyone in the reading community on the Internet was recommending it. But Oh boy it wasn’t that good as people was claiming it was.

It took me a lots of time and effort to go through this and finish it but eventually I did.

I give this book 2 / 5

“The Rats in the Walls” By H.P. Lovecraft Review

The story is narrated by the scion of the Delapore family, who has moved from Massachusetts to his ancestral estate in England, known as Exham Priory. On several occasions, the protagonist and his cats hear the sounds of rats scurrying behind the walls. Upon investigating further, he finds that his family maintained an underground city for centuries and that the inhabitants of the city fed on human flesh, even going so far as to raise generations of human cattle, who eventually began to de-evolve due to their sub-human living conditions.

And yet again we are talking about a 2 star short story from H.P Lovecraft.

The plot in this short story is bad, super bad however it had some good moments which I found myself enjoying but these moments were rare in this short story and it is sad. The plot in this short story had the potential to be much better than it acutely was but its too late to change it now.

The writing style in this one was bad, like super bad. And it was the worst part of this short story. The writing style didn’t feel like something written by the goat himself.

The first 5-10 pages of this short story were pointless for the rest of the short story so I don’t understand the point of these first pages because they only take extra space and extra time to read and they don’t do anything.

For the most part this short story was very drown out with some few parts in it.  And this short story was the sign that some show stories doesn’t age well because what people like and don’t like change with time.

I give this short story 2 / 5

“The Lurking Fear” By H.P. Lovecraft Review

So this is another short story from H.P Lovecraft which involves multiple different short stories in it.

To be honest here none of them were specially good. All of them were good enough to relieve 2 stars as a whole but they wouldn’t get that if they were standing alone let me say that.

The writing style here was pretty decent and I think that the writing style was the best part of this whole short stories collection.

The plot wasn’t good enough in any of these 4 stories which this short story involve. I had hard time trying to focus on them and they didn’t get my attention because I didn’t like them so much as I wished too.

All of the 4 short stories were boring and uninteresting, and that’s why it didn’t get my attention. There were too many words in this one and too little action which really didn’t go well with me

I give this short story 2 / 5

“The Dreams in the Witch House” By H.P. Lovecraft Review

The story follows Walter Gilman, who takes a room in the Witch House, an accursed house in Akham, Lovecraft’s fictional New England town. The house once harbored Keziah Mason, an witch who disappeared mysteriously from a Salem jail in 1692. Gilman discovers that over the centuries most of its occupants have died prematurely. In his dreams while at the house, Gilman travels to the city of Elder Things and communes with the evil witch and her henchmen.

Gotta say that this short story was kind of good in a way, but not the best I’ve read from H.P Lovecraft. It wasn’t disappointing at least which gives this short story extra points.

I personally found this short story kind of dull. This is because the plot in this one was boring and uninteresting but it had 1 or 2 good moments here and there. But overall it didn’t capture my attention and I had, had hard time trying to focus on it while reading it.

I also feel like this short story was a little bit too wordy and the descriptions in this one were a little bit off if you ask me. However it had some good descriptions here and there so ill give this short story points for that

The scary part in this short story didn’t exists which is sad because you know H.P Lovecraft wrote it. This short story had some moments where it gave you chills but these moments were very rare but still they were here.

I give this short story 2 / 5

“In the Vault” By H.P. Lovecraft Review

An undertaker finds himself trapped in the vault where coffins are stored during winter for burial in the spring, and is mysteriously injured when he escapes.

So this short story was kind of okay, I didn’t have any expectations for this since the past couple of short stories by H.P Lovecraft was a disappointing.

The plot itself was okay for the most part but there were a lots of moments where the story went down the hill. There were a lots of moments where this short story was super boring and I didn’t care for this short story. But I gotta say that this short story had the potential to be better than it actually was.

When it comes to the horror part of this short story then it didn’t exist because it wasn’t scary at all. It might be scary for a kindergarten kid who never read any horror stories before.

This short story had a little twist in it but it didn’t work for me at least, which is kind of a disappointment.

I give this short story 2 / 5

“Salems Lot” By Stephen King Review

Thousands of miles away from the small township of ‘Salem’s Lot, two terrified people, a man and a boy, still share the secrets of those clapboard houses and tree-lined streets. They must return to ‘Salem’s Lot for a final confrontation with the unspeakable evil that lives on in the town.

The famous Salems Lot by Stephen King, I finally read it and oh boy was it disappointing ? unfortunately it was. I had high hopes for this book which it didn’t live up to. This one is a Stephen King classic which oh boy I really wished to like but didn’t. Getting into this book I really wanted to love this book but it turned out to be a book which I didn’t care about so much.

The writing style in this one didn’t feel like quit Stephen King which might have something to do with it being one of his early works. But it didn’t give the horror vibe which almost every Stephen King book does give the reader.

There were some good moments which really made the chills run down your spine but there were very few of these moments which is again very disappointing at least for me.

The plot itself is amazing but I really had a hard time with connecting it. I don’t know why because Im a huge fan of horror stories which involves something bad going on in a rural town.

The ending in my opinion was the best thing in this whole book. Need to say that the ending was very fast which is a typical Stephen King thing which happens in every book and story he writes. And which I love.

However I need to give this book a lots of points for giving us a pictures how vampires should look like and not just some Twilight bull shit.

This book isn’t so good as many other Stephen King books but it is of course a book which every Stephen King fan MUST read.

To be fully honest with you, I need to say that this book is my least favourite book right after “Elevation” written by Stephen King (so far).

I give this book 2 / 5

“Tesla’s Words: A Stunning Utopia of the Future” By Ellis Oswalt Review

Tesla’s Words is a reconstruction of Nikola Tesla’s autobiography designed for a 21st century audience. In the book, Nikola Tesla speaks to you directly to share the story of how he came to invent the modern world. He shares some of the most intimate details of his life, and speaks at length about a mysterious life-long health condition that renders his mind into perpetual, fantastical hallucinations and inconceivable mental abilities that sound like magic.

If you are a Nikola Tesla fan as I am, this book is for sure a must read and it is a quit enjoyable and quick read as well. Which makes this book even more fun to read.

So this one was pretty good book about Nikola Tesla and his words together with his ideas and facts which the world at some point or another have forgotten. Which in my opinion is super bad because I can’t get my head around the fact about how we can forget stuff about probably one of the most important people in the history of humankind and the entire earth as an independent planet.

The writing style was far from good, and it was clear that this book was re-written by a first time author. Which really speaks for itself.

I personally appreciate the amount of the knowledge which this book and author gives, because you can really learn a lot from it. Even if you think that you know a lots about him.

Keep in mind that this book is sort of re-written by Ellis Oswalt, the first versions of this in sorts is written by the man himself which of course is Nikola Tesla.

However this book there were times were this book was super boring which of course isn’t great.

This book could have been written in a much better way than it already was.

I give this book 2 / 5
