Let me start this review by saying that this one is just a preview for the entire comic book. And I read it because I wanted to see if the full comic book was worth the money and time I would spend on it. And im gonna give you the answer for that at the end of this review.

This preview offers a mixed bag of teasers and insights into the DC Universe’s upcoming titles. At the same time this preview provides fans with a glimpse into the new directions and storylines that emerged from the Rebirth initiative, which aimed to revitalize and refresh the DC lineup.

This preview feature a variety of beloved characters, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and more, each with their own distinct narratives and artistic styles. This diversity is one of the collection’s strengths, showcasing the breadth of the DC Universe and the creative teams behind each title. However, the sheer volume of content can feel overwhelming, with some previews standing out more than others.

One of the highlights is the preview for the Batman series, which captures the essence of the Dark Knight with its dark, gritty tone and compelling narrative hooks. The artwork is moody and atmospheric, perfectly complementing the brooding nature of Gotham City. This preview effectively builds anticipation for Batman’s role in the Rebirth era.

The Superman preview offers a different flavor, focusing on hope and heroism. The art style is bright and dynamic, reflecting the optimistic themes associated with the Man of Steel. While the narrative hints at intriguing developments, it feels somewhat familiar, lacking the fresh take that some readers might desire from a relaunch.

Wonder Woman’s preview stands out with its strong character focus and mythological elements. The artwork is both elegant and powerful, capturing the essence of Diana’s world. This preview promises an exploration of Wonder Woman’s origins and identity, which is likely to appeal to both longtime fans and new readers.

Despite these strong points, some previews in the collection feel underwhelming. Certain narratives lack the depth or originality needed to make a lasting impression, relying on well-trodden tropes or failing to fully convey the stakes and direction of the story. This inconsistency in quality can make the collection feel uneven.

The artwork throughout this preview is varied, reflecting the diverse styles of the artists involved. While some previews feature stunning visuals that enhance the storytelling, others have art that feels more generic or less polished. This variation in artistic quality contributes to the overall inconsistency of the collection.

The dialogues across this preview are generally effective, capturing the voices of the characters and the tone of their respective stories. However, with limited space, some narratives resort to expository dialogue to convey key plot points, which can feel forced or clunky.

So will buy and read the full version of this comic book ? Yes I will. It might take some time for me to actually read the full version of this comic book because I have been way too optimistic when creating my TBR list for this year and I don’t know if I get the time to read the full version of this comic book this year. But I will read the full version of this comic book at some point in time.

I Give This Book 3 / 5
