“Ripped: Preview” By Jay Busbee & Jason Flowers Review

20-Page Preview! Adam Fitzpatrick awakens one morning to find himself on a park bench in Dallas – on the very day of JFK’s assassination! A college dropout with the ability to travel through time, Alex is the only one who can stop the end of mankind, but will he be able to assemble the clues planted throughout history before it’s too late?

Let me start this review by saying that this one is just a preview for the entire comic book. And I read it because I wanted to see if the full comic book was worth the money and time I would spend on it. And I’m gonna give you the answer for that at the end of this review.

This preview sets up a thrilling narrative, which is blending elements of action and suspense with a unique twist. I personally found it to be very interesting and fun to read. I gotta admit here that this preview hooked me in, and I will for sure read the full version of this comic book.

The concept of this preview is innovative and it had hooked me into the world where surprises await at every turn which this preview gives us.

The pacing of the storyline in this preview is expertly handled, ensuring that the story maintains momentum and kept me interested and engaged throughout this preview.

The characters in tis preview are introduced to us with depth and complexity, particularly the protagonist, who is both relatable and intriguing. Which made me give this preview some extra points for doing.

The interactions between the characters hint at rich backstories and motivations which we would get more of in the full version. Which really helped this preview to get me very interested in reading the full version of this comic book.

The artwork in this preview is very standout feature of this preview. Because the artwork is combining detailed illustrations with a gritty, atmospheric style that perfectly complements the narrative.

This preview gives us the themes of identity, transformation, and morality which are woven throughout the narrative, adding layers of depth and intrigue to this preview. Which really I found myself liking a lot. Because these elements are thoughtfully explored, providing both entertainment and substance.

So will buy and read the full version of this comic book ? Yes I will. It might take some time for me to actually read the full version of this comic book because I have been way too optimistic when creating my TBR list for this year and I don’t know if I get the time to read the full version of this comic book this year. But I will read the full version of this comic book at some point in time.

Once again we are talking about another comic book from the “Spidey And His Amazing Friends” comic book series.  I need to admit here that Im starting to get a little bored of this series, so I’m gonna take a little break from it. But lets get into this review without making the intro longer than it already is.

This comic book presents a simple storyline featuring Spider-Man and his friends in a series of fun escapades they have in this comic book.

The concept in this comic book is pretty appealing for kids between the ages of 5 and 7. But reading it as an adult, I gotta admit that the narrative feels predictable and lacks complexity.

The characters in this comic book are portrayed with their characteristic charm and energy which they had in the previous comic book from this series which I already talked about in the near past.

The character development and depth is still very minimal because as always this comic book (and this whole series so far at least) focuses more on action sequences than on meaningful interactions or growth.

The artwork in this comic book is bright and colorful, effectively capturing the playful tone of the comic. Even thou the artwork is very appealing, the artwork doesn’t compensate for the lack of narrative depth. The style is lively but doesn’t enhance the storytelling significantly

This comic book gives us the theme of teamwork and friendship. Which feel not fully explored because of their superficial manner for an adult. While these positive messages are suitable for children, their presentation lacks the depth needed to make a lasting impression.

“Free Comic Book Day 2023: Spidey & Friends #1” By Various Review

SWING INTO ADVENTURE WITH SPIDEY! Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Miles will face off against Green Goblin, Doc Ock and more in this FREE spectacular special. Filled with easy-to-read comic stories based on the hit Disney Junior show, this book is perfect for the youngest readers aged 5-7. Kids will love this not-to-be-missed the perfect primer for the newest generation of Spider-Fans!

Once again we are talking about another comic book from the “Spidey And His Amazing Friends” comic book series. I gotta admit here that lately I’ve been in my superhero comic book phase and reading all of the superhero comic book I could get my hands on. But lets get into the review before I start talking about my phase on the superhero comic books phase of reading.

This comic book is offering us a lighthearted story which is of course featuring Spider-Man and his friends tackling various challenges as the previous comic books in this series I talked about.

The concept in this comic book is of course meant to be appealing for children which means that aren’t much of character depth being them being likable and relatable.

As I adult reading this comic book, I gotta admit here that the storyline lacks depth and complexity because this comic book is very simplistic and predictable. Which shouldn’t come across as a shock factor since this comic book (and the whole series) is meant for kids between 5 and 7 years old.

The characters in this comic book are very energetic and charming. Just as they were in the previous comic books from this series I talked about. Still the character development in this comic book (and in the previous 2 books I read in this series) us very minimal. Because this comic book focuses more on quick action to keep kids engaged rather than character growth or meaningful interactions between the characters.

The artwork in this comic book is very colorful and lively, capturing the playful essence of the comic. The artwork is very appealing and bright, which is under stable. The artwork is engaging but don’t add significant value to the story in general.

This comic book gives us the theme of friendship and teamwork, but those themes are explored in a superficial manner. Since it doesn’t go into the depth of those themes.

“Spidey And His Amazing Friends Halloween Trick-Or-Read 2024 #1 (Spidey And His Amazing Friends)” By Various Review

Marvel Trick-Or-Read is back in 2024 with 5 new titles! Swing into reading with Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Spin as they face classic villains and more in this spectacular special filled with all new fun activities and stories from the MY FIRST COMIC READER.

Yet another comic book in the “spider and his amazing friends” series we are talking about. I gotta admit that this comic book is much better than the previous comic book in this series I’ve read. Even thou it is very far from actually being good. But without making the intro longer than it needs to be lets get into the review.

The storyline of this comic book is set against a Halloween backdrop, and we yet again follow Spider-Man and his friends but this time they are navigating spooky adventures. I gotta admit that this was very fun to read because of the spooky element.

The concept of this comic book is pretty engaging because it is blending superhero action with Halloween themes. And if you read some of my reviews you will know that I love all Halloween themes so of course I liked this comic book a lot.

The storyline is very straightforward, it effectively captures the festive spirit, making it a delightful read for kids which of course this comic book is meant for.

The characters in this comic book are still very charming and energetic which they also were in the previous comic book from this series I read and talked.

The characters in this comic book stays pretty much true to their iconic personas. But the characters don’t get a lot of depth to them because this comic book (and the whole series) focuses more on the action rather than deep character development. Which is understandable since this comic book (and the whole series in general) is meant for 5 to 7 year olds.

The artwork in this comic book is very vibrant and colorful. And the the artwork is perfectly matching the playful tone of the comic. The artwork is very lively and engaging, drawing you into the Halloween-themed adventures.

I gotta admit that the style of the artwork in this comic book in a way enhances the festive atmosphere, making it visually appealing for us as readers.

This comic book gives us the themes of friendship, teamwork, and courage which of course are the central to the narrative. And the exploration of them is very light and playful which makes it very good and understandable for the younger readers this comic book (and series) is meant for.

“Spidey And His Amazing Friends Free Comic #1” By Various Review

IT’S SPIDEY TIME! Swing into adventure with Spidey, Ghost-Spider and Miles as they face Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and more! This FREE promotional comic features all new stories from MY FIRST COMIC READER, an easy-to-read comic book that is perfect for young Spidey fans ages 5-7. We promise you, kids will LOVE this not-to-be-missed sampler!

I need to make an confession here. This comic book is meant for kids ages between 5 and 7 which means it is very simple and easy to read. But I couldn’t help it but like this comic book more than I expected I would. But without making the introduction longer than it needs to be, lets get into the review.

This comic book is about Spider-Man teaming with Ghost-Spider, and Miles’s Spiderman to tackle the villains and save the day. I gotta admit that the comic book is very simple and easy going but at the same time fun.

The concept of this comic book is pretty engaging and fun, because it provides us a blend of action and humor. Even thou the action is very soft, there is no fighting action but rather the Spiderman team talks to the villain with something cheesy as “don’t do that, it is bad” and the villain just stops.

The one thing I didn’t like about the storyline of this comic book is that the storyline is very straightforward which means it lacks the complexity which really annoyed me.

The characters here are portrayed with charm and energy which was okay for the most part. The character developing is very minimal in this series, because it focuses more on the action than on deeper narratives. Which is understandable since this comic book is meant for 5 to 7 year olds. This approach works well for the intended audience but might not satisfy those looking for more depth

The artwork in this comic book is pretty vibrant and colorful. Which I really liked because it perfectly captures the playful tone of the comic book.

The artwork is pretty dynamic and engaging. At the same time the artwork is appealing and well-suited for the target demographic, enhancing the overall experience.

This comic book gives us the themes of teamwork, friendship, and heroism which are central to the storyline in this comic book. These elements are effectively conveyed, offering positive messages that resonate well with younger readers which this comic book is intended for. But the themes of this comic book are pretty unexplored if you are someone older reading this book.

“Monster Me #2: Body Chemistry” By iPOP! Labs Review

Learn about nutrition and sugar through comics! Follow the adventures of Midori and Perla, a Cookie Monster and a few friends as they go on an adventure to discover why Perla still feels hungry after eating a big meal. Includes a teacher’s guide.

Yet again we are talking about another comic book in the “Monster Me” comic book series. I gotta admit here that Ive already read a few comic book in this series and I start getting tired of this series. So after I read this comic book I decided to put this series on hold for awhile. Without making the introduction longer than it needs to be lets get in the review of this comic book.

The story in this comic book is of course about the protagonist of this series, facing new challenges tied to the metaphor of body chemistry and transformation. Which was okay for the most part. But I gotta admit here that this comic book gotta be the weakest comic book in this whole series in my opinion of course.

The narrative of this comic book feels very scattered and at the same time it lacks cohesion in a way. Because it jumps back and forward in the storyline which made me very confused while reading this comic book.

At the same time some of the plot points in this comic book felt very underdeveloped and unexplored because at times the plot points were very shallow and it didn’t go into details of this plot points but barely mentioning them.

The characters in this comic book is still relatable as in the previous comic book in this series I talked about in the past. But in a way his character development stoped in this comic book, because he didn’t seem to improve as a character or grow as a character since the previous comic book I’ve read in this series.

The side characters in this comic book just the same as in the previous books I’ve read in this series. Which means that the side characters add some humor and charm to the storyline of this comic book. But the side characters are still largely one-dimensional and without any personalities which would make them standout for themselves.

Overall the characters in this book (and in the whole series in general) feel very superficial, missing opportunities for deeper emotional engagement. Because of how flat and shallow they seem.

The artwork in this comic book is very good because it is vibrant and colorful. The artwork also captures the whimsical nature of the storyline which takes place in this comic book.

However the artwork at times feel very clustered and distracting from the the storyline of this comic book. And the artwork as good as it is, it still doesn’t compensate for the story’s shortcomings.

This comic book gives us the themes of self-discovery and change. But I gotta admit here that those themes feel very unexplored and somehow underdeveloped.

“Monster Me Vol. 1: No Fair” By iPOP! Labs Review

This 3-issue edition includes All Phone & Games, Body Chemistry and Newmon. Join in on the adventure as Newmon and his fellow classmates experience cyberbullying, learn about nutrition and tackle bullying together.

I gotta admit here that this comic book series is kinda fun to read for me. Because it is very simple and easy which means it doesn’t take brainpower to read it. So I decided to read this one, so if you are interested what I have to say about this comic book keep reading.

The story of this comic book, as always follows a young protagonist who navigates the ups and downs of adolescence through fantastical transformations. Which is pretty fun and engaging to read.

The concept of this comic book is kind of creative, because it uses the metaphor of monsters to explore themes of identity and self-acceptance. Which are pretty good themes for the younger reviews which this comic book (and the whole comic book series) is meant for.

While I liked the premise of this comic book I gotta admit here that the narrative in this comic book is pretty inconsistent. Because at times the narrative rushed through parts of this comic book while at other times the narrative drags on and on. Which makes some plot points underdeveloped while other plot point overdeveloped.

The protagonist is relatable, capturing the confusion and excitement of growing up. But at the same time he makes some stupid decisions throughout this comic book which really annoyed me a lot because of how stupid they were.

The side characters in this comic book add some charm and humor to this comic book. But they don’t have a lot of depth or personalities to them. Which really makes them look like the creators of this comic book didn’t give a shit about the side characters.

The interactions between the characters in this comic book is for the most part engaging but at times those interactions seems very cringy or lacks the emotional resonance which would make readers more interested and engaged in the storyline of this comic book.

The artwork is pretty vibrant and playful. Which in a way effectively conveys the whimsical tone of the storyline of this comic book.

But for the most part the artwork does complements the narrative perfectly in this comic book. Which made me add some points to the overall rating I gave this comic book.

As ive mentioned above, this comic book gives us the themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and friendship are woven throughout the comic book. These themes seem for the most part explored and they offer both entertainment and meaningful storyline for the younger readers which this comic book is meant for.

But there are times where the themes of this comic book could have been more explored and developed to make those themes more fun in this comic book

It is only during this journey that Marlow realizes that perhaps by avoiding suffering he has become like the zombies he so fears to become!

Let me start this review by saying that this one is just a preview for the entire comic book. And I read it because I wanted to see if the full comic book was worth the money and time I would spend on it. And I’m gonna give you the answer for that at the end of this review.

The concept of this preview tries to give us the mix of adventure and intrigue. Which sounded very interesting to me personally, so I choose this free preview to try to decided if I should buy and read the full version of this comic book.

Even thou the concept of this preview sounded very interesting to me at the beginning the way the storyline and concept is presented to us make the whole preview feel very lacking.

The storyline in this preview feels very disjointed and unclear which made it very difficult for me personally to get invested in the storyline of this preview.

This preview tries to introduces us to the key elements in the storyline of this preview, but those key elements seem without any context or development. Because the key elements seemed very flat and shallow.

The character we get in this preview doesn’t have any depth to them, they don’t have any personalities and their motivates are very unclear. Which really makes it hard for me to care about they go through in this preview.

The main character in this preview lacks a personality and we don’t get to learn any backstory of the main character. Which really annoyed me because the main character had a huge potential to be a very good and memorable character.

When it comes to the side characters in this preview, they are just as bad as the main character is. The side character are very underdeveloped and they add nothing to the storyline.

The artwork in this preview had some very interesting and enjoyable moments. Which was my favorite moment in this whole preview. But the artwork really struggles to convey the story effectively.

The artwork sometimes feel inconsistent and do not enhance the clarity of the narrative, which only adds to the overall sense of confusion which I had reading this preview.

This preview tries to give us the themes of adventure and exploration. But those themes were very unexplored, and only added to the incoherent storyline in this preview.

So will I buy and read the full version of this comic book ? I don’t think I will. The main reason behind this is how poorly this preview was very uninteresting for me personally.

“Mwumba: Preview” By Bruce Brown & Lizzy Brown & Eduardo Savid Review

10-Page Preview! Mwumba is the story of a little girl named Cassandra; the ruler of the jungle Mwumba. Everything in Cassandra’s world centers on her, and that’s just the way she likes it! For the first time, a mysterious monster has come into her jungle and is not only breaking sacred Mwumban law by eating vegetables, but worse yet, is taking all of the attention that rightfully belongs to her!

Let me start this review by saying that this one is just a preview for the entire comic book. And I read it because I wanted to see if the full comic book was worth the money and time I would spend on it. And I’m gonna give you the answer for that at the end of this review.

This preview introduces us to the imaginative world of Mwumba, a place filled with creativity and charm. Which I found to be very interesting and fun to read.

The concept of this preview is delightful, capturing the essence of a whimsical adventure. Which made me give this preview some extra point for doing.

The storyline of this preview is engaging, but it has a lot of moments where the story goes down heal. Because of how introductory it feels at times which didn’t help with me wanting to read the full version of this comic book. Because it left me wanting more depth and more details.

The characters in this preview are introduced to us with personality and potential. But the personality aspect here is pretty weak, we see the glimpses of the characters’s personalities but its not like the personality aspect is always presented for the characters.

The main character in this preview is pretty likable and has hints of a rich inner world and motivations. And easily the main character is my favorite character in this preview.

When it comes to the side characters in this preview they show some glimpses of them having something which would make them standout. But for the most part the side characters feel pretty one-dimensional and flat

The artwork in this comic book is pretty vibrant and lively which was my favorite thing about this comic book. Because of how perfectly the artwork is complementing the playful tone of the narrative.

The artwork in this preview bring the whimsical world to life, enhancing the overall appeal. And in a way it had drawn me into the charming setting of this preview.

This preview tries to give us the themes of imagination, adventure, and self-discovery. Those themes are present in this preview, but at times those themes feel pretty underdeveloped at times and those themes aren’t fully explored as I wanted them to be. But at the same time those themes offer us both entertainment and substance.

So will buy and read the full version of this comic book ? Yes I will. It might take some time for me to actually read the full version of this comic book because I have been way too optimistic when creating my TBR list for this year and I don’t know if I get the time to read the full version of this comic book this year. Before we start this review I need to admit here that the only reason why I read this comic book was because it was free on amazon for my kindle. So I decided to get it and give it a shot to see if I liked it or not. If you are interested in hearing my thoughts about this comic book then keep reading.

The concept of this comic book involves an ambitious sci-fi narrative and give trues to five us a sense of adventure and intrigue which it fails to do.

The way to concept it told to us makes the whole comic book feel like it lacks coherence and direction of any kind.

The storyline itself in this comic book feels very chaotic which made it pretty difficult for me to be invested in plot or follow the narrative of this comic book.

The characters in this comic book are introduced to us without any form of depth, development or personalities. Which if you know me, you will know that I absolutely hate when the characters are shallow and one-dimensional without any form of backstory or personalities.

The main character as well as all of the side characters in this comic book lack clear motivations and distinguishing traits which made it impossible for me to care about the their journeys throughout this comic book.  Which doesn’t help with me being engaged in the comic book.

The artwork in this comic book has some good moments, but for the most part the artwork really struggles to convey the story effectively. The artwork a lot of times is very cluttered and is very inconsistent. Which only added to my confusion in this comic book.

This preview tries to give us the themes of adventure and survival. Which in reality are very underdeveloped and unexplored. The potential for thematic richness exists, but the disjointed storytelling prevents these elements from resonating effectively with picky readers as myself.

So will I buy and read the full version of this comic book ? I don’t think I will. The main reason behind this is how poorly this preview was very uninteresting for me personally.
