“King Richard The Third” By William Shakespeare Review

Jealous and crippled, Richard of Gloucester wants to be King of England and uses manipulation and deceit to achieve his goal. He murders his brothers, nephews, and any opposition to become King Richard III. In the end, Henry of Richmond raises an army, kills Richard in battle, and becomes King Henry VII.

Yet again another play which didn’t work for me but to be honest I am not the biggest fan of plays in general so it might be me and not this play.

For the most part this play was so boring and really I just couldn’t keep up with the characters of who was who because they just kept bleeding with each for me.

This play has the William Shakespeare’s wit and sarcasm but still I just couldn’t force myself to like this play.

The writing style here was pretty okay for the most part but I know that William Shakespeare was capable of much better work than what he did on this one.

Both the plot and all the characters in this play are very erratic and disappointing for me personally.

I Give This Sonnet 2 / 5

“Hamlet” By William Shakespeare Review

The ghost of the King of Denmark tells his son Hamlet to avenge his murder by killing the new king, Hamlet’s uncle. Hamlet feigns madness, contemplates life and death, and seeks revenge. His uncle, fearing for his life, also devises plots to kill Hamlet.

I personally think that this play was okay. I didn’t love it nor did I hate it. Im like in the middle on this one.

The plot here was very fun and interesting to read but there were some bad moments here and there which were super boring for me personally but for the most part the plot in this play was good.

The theme of this play is madness and revenge which I really loved. And the ghost situation here was also good.

The writing style here was okay for the most part. Even thou it was classic William Shakespeare writing style in this plot I still think that William Shakespeare could have done a better job on this one.

The characters here are meh to be honest. And I just didn’t care for them at all. But this play becomes better and better as it goes on because 90% of all characters here die which made me so happy.

I Give Play 3 / 5

“Julius Caesar” By William Shakespeare Review

Jealous conspirators convince Caesar’s friend Brutus to join their assassination plot against Caesar. To stop Caesar from gaining too much power, Brutus and the conspirators kill him on the Ides of March. Mark Antony drives the conspirators out of Rome and fights them in a battle.

To be fully honest this one gotta be my favourite William Shakespeare play I’ve read. Because this one has something which the rest lacks in my opinion.

All of the characters in this book are so good. Every line which the characters say in this play really shows their character. The characters are super realistic in this play which really it made me like this play even more in a way.

The plot of this play is amazing because I love plots about friends betraying each other.

The writing style in this play is also very good because it has something to it which I personally enjoyed a lot.

I Give Play 4 / 5

“The Tempest” By William Shakespeare Review

Prospero uses magic to conjure a storm and torment the survivors of a shipwreck, including the King of Naples and Prospero’s treacherous brother, Antonio. Prospero’s slave, Caliban, plots to rid himself of his master, but is thwarted by Prospero’s spirit-servant Ariel.

To be honest this play is another one which didn’t quite get into my taste.

I personally thought that this play was super boring and uninteresting to that point that I DNF-ed it around 50%.

The plot here is very generic William Shakespeare plot about love, battle and the final tragedy which of course is death. It would be fine if it was presented to us in a different way because I personally found it not in my taste.

The writing style was very William Shakespeare ish with the fun poetic language which I enjoyed the most about this play

I Give Play 1 / 5

“Henry VIII” By William Shakespeare Review

It is a story of a ruthless race to power and the desire for an heir. The Duke of Norfolk tells Buckingham of the meeting between Henry VIII and Francis I of France at the Field of the Cloth of Gold. On the instigation of Cardinal Wolsey, Buckingham is arrested for high treason.

This one was pretty typical play by William Shakespeare. Involving royalty, battle and drama.

The plot here is very typical William Shakespeare. There is not much good in it in my opinion but still it was somehow okay read even thou I wasn’t the biggest fan of it but it wasn’t bad neither.

The entire plot here is pretty much Henry VIII leaving his wife and the church for his lover named Anne Bullen. Which really made me uninterested in a way because its like the generic plot for William Shakespeare.

The writing style here is very typical William Shakespeare writing style. Which means that there is old English, old sayings there and you would know if you read any plans by plays by William Shakespeare.

I personally ended DNF-ing this play just because I became so uninterested and bored of this play that I just couldn’t keep on. But that’s on me because I don’t like plays.

I Give Play 2 / 5

“Pericles” By William Shakespeare Review

Prince of Tyre leaves home to escape death only to win a jousting contest and marry a princess. Once he can return home, his family sails with him, but a storm separates them, so Pericles returns alone. Years later, Pericles finds his daughter and reunites with the wife he had thought was dead.

This one was a pretty okay play written by William Shakespeare. This one surprised me in a good way because I didn’t like the majority of plays written by William Shakespeare but this one was pretty good for me.

This play have a huge Charles Dickens Vibe to it which I personally come to enjoy and to be honest I ended giving this play some extra point for the Charles Dickens Vibe which it had.

The plot in this play was pretty good but still it had the generic William Shakespeare plot about love, battle and the huge tragedy at the end which of course is death. But to be honest I didn’t mind in this one because of the way it was presented to us which made the plot a little bit more fun and a little bit more interesting.

The writing style here was good here. Of course it had the typical William Shakespeare writing with the fun poetic language in it.

I Give Play 3 / 5

“Venus and Adonis” By William Shakespeare Review

It tells the story of Venus, the goddess of Love; of her unrequited love; and of her attempted seduction of Adonis, an extremely handsome young man, who would rather go hunting. The poem is pastoral, and at times erotic, comic and tragic. It contains discourses on the nature of love, and observations of nature.

This was an okay poems / plays written by William Shakespeare. In my opinion it was one of the best plays written by William Shakespeare. But it goes back to the fact that I personally don’t like plays at all.

The plot here in this play talks is a generic William Shakespeare with love, battle / war, tragedy etc. You know the deal if you read any of William Shakespeare plays before. However the way it was pretend to us made is fun and okay. And it was interesting and enjoyable to read it.

In my opinion this one was too melodramatic for me but it had many good moments.

The writing style here was very good it really showed me how good of a writer William Shakespeare was and why so many people love his work.

This one is sort of a mix between play and a a collection of various poems. Which makes it a little bit hard to review.

For me personally it felt like there was something missing but it might be just me not liking plays / poems.

I Give Play 3 / 5

“King Henry VI, Part 2” By William Shakespeare Review

The second part of this play is the same as the first one, it is just as bad as the first one.

This one feels like an unfinished play which really annoyed me a lot because it really killed the entire play for me.

This play has the same problem as the first one which is that if you don’t know anything about British royal family back in the day then you we struggle throughout this entire play and it is be torture.

There are many good characters but they really didn’t made me like them or made me care for them. I appreciate very character in this play but to be fully honest here I didn’t care for me at all.

The writing style was pretty good, I’m still pretty fresh to William Shakespeare so I can’t compare it to some of his other works but it was good enough I assume.

For me personally it was pretty boring and it was too many of names to follow and it makes even harder that I’m not familiar with the British royal family from hundreds of years ago.

I Give This Play 2 / 5

“Henry VI Part I” By William Shakespeare Review

A boy king, Henry VI, is on the English throne, and the indomitable Talbot leads the English cause in France. Joan La Pucelle (Joan of Arc), who becomes captain of the French, claims to be chosen by the Virgin Mary to liberate France. The English, however, consider her a sensual witch.

I gotta say that I was disappointed in this play because I was expecting something more than death and speeches which this play is full of.

This play start at the funeral of Henry V which to me felt like it started mid-story which really confused me.

I feel like this play would have been soo much better if Jean of Arc was the main character in this play because he was easily the most interesting character in this entire play and of course he is seen as the tragic heroine character.

There are many good characters but they really didn’t made me like them or made me care for them. I appreciate very character in this play but to be fully honest here I didn’t care for me at all.

This play is mostly exposition and battles and preparations for what’s to come which really made it to a torture to read for me.

“Timon of Athens” By William Shakespeare Review

Wealthy and popular, Timon of Athens helps his friends, gives many gifts, and holds a feast. After ignoring his true friends’ warnings, Timon runs out of money, and none of his “friends” will help him. He runs away to a cave where he curses humanity, finds gold, funds someone to destroy Athens, and dies.

This play is very poorly constructed because it is all over the place and sometimes it feel like the play missed couple of pages because it felt not quite complete.

The plot of this play is very boring and it was a pure torture for me while I was reading this one. I ended up DNF-ing this one after having read like 40 ish % of it just because I couldn’t take it anymore.

The plot in this play was generic William Shakespeare plot about love, battle and the huge tragedy at the end which of course is death.

The characters here are very boring and I just couldn’t keep track of who was who in this play. Because every characters just felt like the same person to me which really made it hard for me to like it. But this tends to be the biggest problem for me with plays written by William Shakespeare.

The writing style here was typical William Shakespeare writing with the fun poetic language in it. Which to be honest must have been the best part about this play.

I Give Play 1 / 5
