“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” By F. Scott Fitzgerald Review

In 1860 Benjamin Button is born an old man and mysteriously begins aging backward. At the beginning of his life he is withered and worn, but as he continues to grow younger he embraces life — he goes to war, runs a business, falls in love, has children, goes to college and prep school, and, as his mind begins to devolve, he attends kindergarten and eventually returns to the care of his nurse.

I gotta admit here that the only reason why I read this book is because I’ve read a lot of good things about it on the Internet and I just thought that this book was just one of the way overhyped books which I read in my time. But after I read this book I gotta admit that it is pretty good after all, and of course I will explain everything in this review. So if you are interested in hearing my thoughts about this book then keep reading.

As some of you might know if you have been sticking around my website for a while, I’m a huge F. Scott Fitzgerald fan after reading for the first time “The Great Gatsby”. So of course I needed to read this book at some point in my life. And im very happy that I finally read this book.

The plot of this book is very interesting and enjoyable. Because as many of you would know the plot in this book is abut a guy who is born old, and as he grows older he becomes younger. Which had really fascinated me a lot because it is very unique plot and it was very well written.

The story in this book was very well written, at the same time it is also very fun and intriguing to read to follow this guy who ages backwards. Yes this book was a little bit quirky but in my opinion thats what made this book extra good.

However the story in this book doesn’t go into a lot of details which really annoyed me personally, because I really wished that it would have gone into more details at times because it would have made this whole story so much better at times.

The writing style in this book is incredible, because it was like the author knew exactly how to present the storyline to get me completely obsessed and hooked on the plot.

The writing style in this book is very straightforwards and doesn’t use a lot of unnecessary words to describe things which really made me really glad. Because I’ve come across a lot of classic books where the authors used war too many words to describe things which made the story unbearable long and boring. Which this books avoids doing which really made me very happy and love this story even more than I already did,

The characters in this book were very good. Yes we had very few characters in this book but the once we got in this book were very well written and created. Because the characters felt like real human being with real emotions and thoughts which made it very easy for me to like them and relate to them.

It could be just my opinion but I think that F. Scott Fitzgerald is incredible on writing very amazing characters which makes me always love the characters in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s books.

The only downside this book had in my opinion was the length. This book could have been easily longer and go into more detail about things this book talks about just because I couldn’t get enough of this book and I really wanted to learn more about the main character, the side characters and the whole plot.

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” By Truman Capote Review

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is the story of Holly Golightly, a hill-billy turned Manhattan playgirl, and the eclectic circle of friends who surround her. The unnamed narrator of the story is a young writer from a small town, out on his own for the first time. He lives in a New York brownstone and dreams of literary success.

I need to admit here that the only reason why I read this book, is because I have heard a lot of good things about this book. But after reading it I gotta admit that this book isn’t as good as good as the hype on the internet makes it out to be. But of course am gonna explain everything in this review, so if you are interested in my thoughts about this book, then keep reading.

The story in this book, was pretty interesting and had a huge potential to turn this whole book to an amazing book. But Truman Capote didn’t use the potential the story had to actually make this book to an really good book.

The story in this book was very interesting as I’ve said above. But at times the story tended to drag out for unnecessary long time which made it boring at times for me personally. But there were times where the storyline in this book was very good and enjoyable. Which pretty much left me split between the facts or liking this book and not liking this book.

The writing style in this book is pretty okay. I wasn’t a big fan of the writing style in this book but at same time the writing style was bad bad. Since in my time I have seen some very bad writing styles in books and the writing style in this book isn’t half as bad as the bad writing styles I have seen in my time.

The characters in this book were okay for the most part. I found the characters to be interesting and fun for the most part. But I just didn’t care about what happened to them which means that I wasn’t a big fan of the characters in this book.

“The Signalman” By Charles Dickens Review

In the story, a practical-minded narrator meets a railway worker who has been seeing supernatural visions. The narrator doubts the man at first, but at the story’s conclusion a strange event makes him a believer.

I gotta admit here that I wasn’t a big fan of this book. Ive heard a lot of good about this book and after reading this book I gotta say that this book doesn’t live fully up to the hype I’ve heard about it. But of course I will explain everything in this review so if you are interested about my thoughts on this book then keep reading.

The storyline in this book is pretty good. Because it is interesting, enjoyable and it has the eerie vibe to it which I really liked. But I gotta admit that the storyline at times was dragging out the action way too much for my liking.

The eerie vibe I mentioned above is very rare in this book in my opinion. But when it is present its very good and I really liked it the few rare times we get the eerie vibe in this book.

The storyline in this book is pretty straightforward and there isn’t any plot twists or big reveals in the plot. During reading this book you will come across a lot of questions, some of those questions will be answered by the time you finish reading this book, but a lot of those questions wont be answered. Because the author of this book tries in a way make you as a reader answer those questions from your beliefs, opinions and thoughts. I liked this aspect of the book because it leaves a lot up to us as readers to decide how we want to answer those questions from our own beliefs, thoughts and opinions

The characters in this book are very few. The characters we do get in this book are okay for the most part but if you want me to be honest here, I wasn’t the fan of the characters we got in this book. Because I felt like there was something missing when it came to them are characters. And I had a hard time liking the characters in this book or finding them to be relatable.

I think that a big part of that was how the characters were written in this book. The characters in this book were written in this very old timey way which really which of course is explained by the fact that this book was published in 1866.

The writing style in this book is very old timey, but in my opinion the writing style is the best part of this book. Because the writing style plays very well with the eerie vibe the storyline tries to set because of how moody the writing style is because of the old English.

Even thou I wasnt a big fan of this book I gotta admit that I am happy that I read this book because a part of me found this book to be interesting and enjoyable.

“An Effective Life: Inspirational Philosophy from Dr. Covey’s Life” By Stephen R. Covey Review

Covey wisdom ─ A key to satisfaction and success Stephen R. Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has inspired millions. Today’s generation will be newly inspired by Covey’s An Effective Life, a new approach to practicing the motivating principles taught by one of the greatest teachers of all time. An Effective Life shares original new perspectives on life and self-evaluation, striking infographics, and inspirational quotes in a fresh new package designed for the generation early in their careers and for those long-time Covey admirers who seek to improve their work and personal lives based on principles. You’ll also find a Personal Journal to help you process the insights you’ve gleaned from the book. This book is more than an inspiration, it is an introduction to important principles needed to live An Effective Life.

I gotta admit that this book feels like a very generic self-help book rather than a self-help book which is worth reading amongst all those millions of self-help books.

This book is more like a series of quotes and musings, rather than a “normal” book in the self-help genre. This book has more of a note-form style to it rather than being a regular self help book. This aspect of this book didn’t work for me personally for the most part but I think that this book makes some very good points throughout the entire book.

As someone who has read multiple self-help books by now, I gotta admit that this book feels more like a summary of all the self-help books and all the topics which the self-help book talking about rather than brining something new to the genre and the topic of meaningful self help book.

Even thou this book feels like it is a summary of other self-help books I gotta admit that the points which this book talks about, makes those points seem easier and simpler than the other self-help books which talk about the topics in more detail.

The points this book makes, are made very easy and simple to actully do them in real life. Which made me give this book some extra points for doing, because a lot of the self-help books I’ve read so far makes their points seem very hard and challenging to actually do. But this book takes the same points as the other generic self-help books have, and this book makes those points seem very simple and easy to follow through with.

The writing style in this book is very simple and easy going. Which makes this book to a very quick and easy read but also it makes this book suitable to read for everyone no matter the education level, age, nationality or daily life challenges.

“Star Wars: The Living Force” By John Jackson Miller Review

The Jedi have always traveled the stars, defending peace and justice across the galaxy. But, the galaxy is changing, and along with it, the Jedi Order. More and more, the Order finds itself focused on the future of the Republic, secluded on Coruscant, where the twelve members of the Jedi Council weigh crises on a galactic scale.

I gotta admit that this star wars books has to be the weakest star wars book I’ve read so far. But of course I’m gonna explain everything in this review, so if you are interested than keep reading.

The storyline in this book takes place in pre-Phantom Menace era, and as we all know by now it means that this book have all the OG star wars characters in it like Obi-wan, Yoda, Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn amongst others.

I fully expected to love this book because it has a all the characters which I already love. But in reality I found this book to be boring and dragging out the plot for far too long than the plot was made to be.

The storyline in this book was okay for the most part, but there were a lot of times in this book where the plot was going on and on forever without anything happening. Those moments were stretching the plot into forever which really made me very bored and uninterested at times in this book. Because of how the plot seemed to not have an ending in this book.

The characters in this book are pretty solid and just as good as they were in the movies. But there were times where I wished that we got to see more of those characters in this book. We didn’t get to see a lot of them, because this book focused more on the action rather than the characters and developing them further than what the movies did.

But I need to admit here that the characters in this book, was the best part of this book in my opinion. Because I already loved the majority of the characters we get in this book. So of course I would still love them in this book if the author didn’t completely ruin them and thankfully the author didn’t ruin them.

The action in this book is pretty much all over the place because we get different perspectives in this book. And this book doesn’t make it easy for us as readers to keep track of when the perspective changes. So I personally was left kind of confused a lot while reading this book.

The writing style in this book is pretty decent here, its not the best I’ve seen in star wars books in my time. But its neither the worst. I wish that the writing style would have been better because it would have been improved the plot and the entire book.

The opening chapters of this book were very interest, and they have caught my attention. But the longer I got into this book the more it became very stretched thin and became uninteresting. Which really sucked because I have a lot of expectations for star wars books I read because I expect them to love them such as much as I loved star wars movies when I first watched them as a kid.

This book has to easily be the most disappointing book I’ve read in the star wars universe and I really hope this is the last one.

“The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx” By Nikki Sixx Review

Nikki Sixx is one of the most respected, recognizable, and entrepreneurial icons in the music industry. As the founder of Mötley Crüe, who is now in his twenty-first year of sobriety, Sixx is incredibly passionate about his craft and wonderfully open about his life in rock and roll, and as a person of the world. Born Franklin Carlton Feranna on December 11, 1958, young Frankie was abandoned by his father and partly raised by his mother, a woman who was ahead of her time but deeply troubled. Frankie ended up living with his grandparents, bouncing from farm to farm and state to state. He was an all-American kid—hunting, fishing, chasing girls, and playing football—but underneath it all, there was a burning desire for more, and that more was music. He eventually took a Greyhound bound for Hollywood.

I gotta admit that this year I’ve been getting into rock star biographies which I find to be very interesting, heartbreaking but also very enjoyable to read. And this book is probably one of the best biographies I’ve read so far in my life. But without naming this into longer than it already is, lets get into the review of this book.

The first thing I need to say about this book is the fact that it is very honest. Nikki Sixx really talks about all the shit he went through as a kid which really is very depressing and sad. But at the same time it made me like him so much more after reading this book than I already did.

This book talks about the first 21 years of Nikkis life from when he was born until the point he officially changed his name from Frank Feranna Jr to Nikki Sixx.

The only downside of this book in my opinion is that it doesn’t go into a lot of details of his upbringing. In this book Nikki Sixx only talks briefly about all the shit he went through in his early life and late teens. But even thou we only get fried details of his upbringing it is still very sad and depressing to read about.

This book also talks about how Nikki Sixx meet Mick Mars for the first time, while working at a liquor store and where he got the name “Nikki Sixx” from. Which was very interesting more me to read about because I didn’t know that fact about him even thou I think of myself as a huge Motley Crue fan.

The writing style in this book is very good. Because it was like Nikki Sixx knew exactly what words to use in this book to completely grab my attention and not let it go until the very end of this book which really made me give this book extra points for doing.

This biography is one of the rare biographies I would recommend to anyone to read, because it shows that even the biggest musicians can have a fucked up life no matter how famous they are or how much money they have today.

“Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Sword of the White Horse” By Elsa Sjunneson Review

Mercia, 878. Witch-warrior Niamh discovers a new order called the Hidden Ones is seeking to establish a foothold in Lunden. Her land is already scarred by Viking raiders, bloody wars, and clashing cultures. Determined to protect what remains of her homeland, she infiltrates this new group to discover whether they stand with her… or against her. Yet when Niamh learns the Hidden Ones have stolen an artifact sacred to her people, her own loyalties are challenged. Casting aside newfound alliances and friendships, Niamh soon discovers that betrayal comes with a heavy price and it will take everything in her power – her gods willing – to survive.

I gotta admit that the only reason why I bought and read this book is because I wanted to get back to the Assassin’s creed book series which I started 5 years ago and put it on hold. But lets not make this intro longer than it already is and lets jump into the review.

I need to say that this book isn’t exactly bad, but its still a very long way from being good.

The plot in this book is pretty fun. Because it is interesting and enjoyable. But I would say that the plot in this book is meant more for young adults and teenagers who are only getting into Assassin’s creed franchised and not for people like me who grow up playing assassin’s creed.

The plot is very simple and easy going in this book. And it doesn’t involve brain power on the reader’s side to actually enjoy this book.

The action in this book keeps building towards the big ending in this book which doesn’t happen. Which really annoyed me because the author uses 90% of this book to build towards the huge ending which in reality is very lacking and it seems like the author didn’t really think the ending through because of how weak it is.

The characters in this book are pretty okay for the most part. But they lack any distinct form for personalities. The characters in this book have some kind of personalities to them, but those personalities are very weak and shallow.

At the same time there aren’t a lot of characters in this book, which makes it easy to remember the shallow characters we actually do get in this book.

I personally felt like there was something missing when it comes to the characters in this book. It could be the fact that the characters miss something that would make them unique and standout for themselves which of course didn’t happen in this book.

The writing style in this book felt like its was aiming towards the YA readers and the teenager as I’ve said above.

The writing style is pretty simple and easygoing just like the plot in this book, which really makes this book lacking of something which would make this book unique and stand out in the Assassin’s creed franchise.

“Star Wars: Red Harvest” By Joe Schreiber Review

The era of the Old Republic is a dark and dangerous time, as Jedi Knights valiantly battle the Sith Lords and their ruthless armies. But the Sith have disturbing plans—and none more so than the fulfillment of Darth Scabrous’s fanatical dream, which is about to become nightmarish reality.

I gotta admit here that I didn’t have a lot of hopes for this book, but after reading it I gotta admit that I liked this book a lot because of how fun and interesting it was. But lets get into this review without making this into any longer than it already is.

The storyline in this book is very interesting and fun. I gotta admit that this book feels like a continuation of Death Troopers because of the things the storyline involves but which I cant say much about without giving away spoilers for people who haven’t read this book yet.

The event of this book take place at Sith Academy on the planet named Odacer-Faustin. And if you been around this website for a while you will know I am a sucker for star wars books which are written from Sith perspective. So this automatically was a big hit for me.

As Ive mentioned above the storyline is very interesting and fun. So much so that I read this book in one sitting because of how hooked I got into the plot. Which really made me give this book some extra points for doing.

The writing style in this book is amazing, because it feels like the author knew exactly what words to use to complete grab my attention and to not let it go until the very end of this book.

The writing style was very simple and easygoing. Which really made reading this book into a pleasure because it uses the every day language which means that everyone can read this book no matter if they are 10 years old, 25 years old or 60 years old.

At the same time this book adds a lot to the star wars universe because it talks about the Sith academy, how it functions, and where everything from the canteen is located, where the sleeping areas for the students are, where the teachers rooms are at and so on. Which really made me like this book even more because of all the info about the Sith academy we get in this book.

There is a lot of action in this book which really makes this book to a very fun and eventful read because of all the things which happen in this book which keeps you interested from start to finish.

I Give This Book 4 / 5

“The Canterville Ghost” By Oscar Wilde Review

This is Oscar Wilde’s tale of the American family moved into a British mansion, Canterville Chase, much to the annoyance of its tired ghost. The family — which refuses to believe in him — is in Wilde’s way a commentary on the British nobility of the day — and on the Americans, too. The tale, like many of Wilde’s, is rich with allusion, but ends as sentimental romance.

I need to admit here that I’ve heard a lot of good about this book, and this book has been on my TBR list for a few years now. And I finally read it. If you are curious about my thoughts when it comes to this book then keep reading.

I need to admit here that this book is very inserting and very fun to read because of how good the plot line in this book is. Which really made me love Oscar Wilde even more than I already did before reading this book. Is it just me or is there someone else who also love Oscar Wilde more and more with each book they read ?

The storyline in this book is very good and interesting which I already mentioned above. There is something about the storyline in this book which makes it feel very eerie but at the same time very funny. Which I really liked and which made me give this book some extra points for doing.

The storyline in this book is more or less a victorian ghost story which I loved a lot. Because I personally love a lot any victorian story because every story set in the victorian era seems so fun and interesting to me.

This book involves a lot of mystery, suspense, horror and romance which I found to love in this book because of how well Oscar Wilde made this book and story.

The writing style in this book is very good, because it was like the author knew exactly what words to use to completely grab my attention and to not let it go until the very end of this book.

The characters in this book are very good and very likable. All of the characters in this book have a lot of personalities to them and something which makes them unique and standout from the rest of the characters in this book.

“Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America” By Maggie Haberman Review

Few journalists working today have covered Donald Trump more extensively than Maggie Haberman. And few understand him and his motivations better. Now, demonstrating her majestic command of this story, Haberman reveals in full the depth of her understanding of the 45th president himself, and of what the Trump phenomenon means.

I need to admit here that I was very skeptical about this book because I thought it would be another woke propaganda book about Donald Trump. But after reading this book I gotta admit it wasn’t that bad as I thought it would be. But of course I’m gonna explain everything in this review.

First of all I want to mention that this book is pretty well written. This book has a easy and simple writing style which makes this book quick read. Most of the nonfiction and politics books I’ve read then do sound like university text books, but this book is one of the rare nonfiction books which is actually fun to read.

However the biggest issue I had with this book was the fact that this book is more of a fun-fact list of everything about Donald Trump rather than a coherent book about Donald Trump. This book lists all the facts about Trump which you might not have heard before.

If you have read other books about Donald Trump then you will know most of the things this book talks about. Because this book is more or less a summary of all the other books and articles about Donald Trump.

So if you are like me and read countless books about Donald Trump then this book will feel like all the books about Donald Trump into one book. But at the same time I need to give this book extra points for being more fun to read than the other books about Donald Trump. So if you want to get into books about Donald Trump and all the shady stuff he has done during the presidency, then this book is a very good choice because it talks about the same things as all the other Donald Trump books.

For the most part this book seems very well researched which made me give this book some extra points for doing. Which really shows how much time the author used to research and write this book, which really made me like this book more.
