“Misery” By Stephen King Review

93Paul Sheldon. He’s a bestselling novelist who has finally met his biggest fan. Her name is Annie Wilkes and she is more than a rabid reader – she is Paul’s nurse, tending his shattered body after an automobile accident. But she is also his captor, keeping him prisoner in her isolated house.

Another classic horror novel written by Stephen King.

The story in this book is marvelous, and its defiantly interesting. The whole story is told from an author’s POV.

The writing style is of course typical Stephen King. Which more or less means that it was good. But in the end it could have been better, because there were parts in this book which could have been cut out. And the action could have happened faster, because there were chapters which felt like a huge stretch of time.

The characters here are meh. Annie was brilliant and Paul was annoying at times. Annie is sort of a Norman Bates gone completely wild. There were times when Paul makes some really dumb decisions, which felt like a 10-year-old would take smarter decisions.

The writing style is of course typical Stephen King. But, which for me personally was a huge waste of story because the whole story could have been written from Annie’s perspective and at the end we could shift to Paul’s perspective. But that’s just my opinion.

This book isn’t scary, it is rather unsettling and have some strange vibe to us that makes us think that there are a lot of strange people in the world.

I give this book 3 / 5

"Run Away" By Harlan Coben Review

86You’ve lost your daughter. She’s addicted to drugs and to an abusive boyfriend. And she’s made it clear that she doesn’t want to be found. Then, quite by chance, you see her busking in New York’s Central Park. But she’s not the girl you remember. This woman is wasted, frightened and clearly in trouble. You don’t stop to think. You approach her, beg her to come home. She runs. And you follow her into a dark and dangerous world you never knew existed. Where criminal gangs rule, where drugs are the main currency, and murder is commonplace.

The whole story blows my mind, that’s how amazing it is. We have a lot of things involved in the plot in this book. We have cult, we have headhunters, we have private detective being killed, missing people, drug addicts and even more, the typical rich white family and even more.

The characters were brilliant, and there was a huge dynamic between them. The parents are doing anything they can to find their daughter. And we can feel the fathomless love of a parent throughout the whole story. You will be able to feel the pain of some characters as the story goes on.There are times when the character are annoying specially the cult people.

There were times when it was hard to put this book down, because it was so interesting and a lot of action happening.

No plot holes are relevant in this book. The whole plot is good and it is very good explained at the end.

The twist at the end is just priceless. Is so good. It started innocent with only some references to 23andMe and other DNA sites but then at the end the huge twist happened. I think that you will at least appreciate it.

You will have hard time being emotionally involved with a lot of stuff which is happening in this book. However there will be couple of times where you will sympathizine with some of the characters in this book.

I give this book 2 / 5

"Blaze" by Richard Bachman AKA Stephen King Review

1Once upon a time, a fellow named Richard Bachman wrote Blaze on an Olivetti typewriter, then turned the machine over to Stephen King, who used it to write Carrie. Bachman died in 1985 (“cancer of the pseudonym”), but this last gripping Bachman novel resurfaced after being hidden away for decades an unforgettable crime story tinged with sadness and suspense. Clayton Blaisdell, Jr., was always a small-time delinquent. None too bright either, thanks to the beatings he got as a kid. Then Blaze met George Rackley, a seasoned pro with a hundred cons and one big idea. The kidnapping should go off without a hitch, with George as the brains behind their dangerous scheme. But there’s only one problem: by the time the deal goes down, Blaze’s partner in crime is dead. Or is he?

Stephen King has ones again shown us that he is one of the greatest authors of all times. It’s kind of mind of how good this book is.

The whole story in this book is just wow. It’s so unique and amazing. Yes it is far from the typical Stephen King novels, but it doesn’t make it any less good. Many die-hard Stephen King fans skip this book and its more or less pointless and stupid. Because this book is good, and you will be surprised how good it is when you give it a shot.

The characters in this are very few of them. And the main character is a giant and a bit slow thinker, but overall he is likeable and pretty good as a main character. There are times when you will feel sad for him

Of course the main character does many stupid things but these things makes even more a likeable character. He does bad things but in his mind he thinks he is doing what he does for the best. His entire life was sort of linked to bad events and throughout his whole life he had only 2 really friends.

There were times while reading when it feels like you are reading something similar to “You” by Caroline Kepnes. This pretty much describes the writing style and how good it is. The writing style in this book is through the roof.

The ending was amazing but if you loved this character throughout the story as I did you will feel sad while reading the ending. Yes it is a sad ending but it is an ending we deserve to end a such good book. The last like 20 – 30 pages you will know that FBI will get some stuff done. But however you will not expect that ending which we got.

Details and descriptions in this book are pretty good. And it almost feels like you are watching a movie because details and descriptions are so good that it makes it as an movie before your eyes. But there are a lot of things which are overused couple times in this book, but these things are very small in the end.

I think that it is important to say that the main character cant sort of deal with the his friend (George), so more or less he is like acting like he didn’t die, and he is sort of hearing his voice in his head and pretending like George is still around and sort of bossing him around. The whole idea behind it is sort of mind blowing and cool. But I guess that some people will not like it. Because of the thing that the main character is imagining George, for some parts of this book you will not know hats happening. Because George will appear and disappear out of nowhere.

I give this book 4 / 5

"You" by Caroline Kepnes Review

100When a beautiful aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he Googles the name on her credit card. As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder.

This book is one of these incredibly creepy books, which you will either hate or love. Because this whole book is written from the perspective of a stalker.

The whole story is one of the most unique stories which I have reviewed on this blog by far and it is definitely the favorite. This whole book is so entertaining that it is very easy to dive into it and forget about everything.

This book is equally funny as it is terrifying. Because the main character Joe, is both a creep and the most charming character in a book I’ve ever read about. The best thing word which describes this book is “dark comedy”.

As mentioned above, this book was written from Joe’s perspective which means that we read both his actions and his thoughts. Which makes this book to even more interesting thing to read.

The writing style is amazing. The book is written from the bad guy perspective. Of course, the villain thinks that he is a good guy and everything which he is done for love. But of course, most of these things which he does are the very opposite of good. This book is just written so well that is almost impossible to explain it.  The writing style is perfect, because it has all these right things which a book should have. And it isnt cringe.

This book is so intense that I lack words to review it. There are so many factors in this book that it is hard to explain the whole book to you without spoiling anything for you.

Joe is exactly like a Dexter and Norman Bates in one person. Joe is so complexed character that he almost feels like a real human being.  This whole book is all about Joe and about his personality.  And having Joe as a narrator is just priceless. The thing that this whole book is written from his perspective makes you feel that he is talking directly to you as a reader.

There are times when you will feel guilty by simply reading this book but you wont be able to put it down.

This book really shows how easy it is to be stalked by a stranger by Social media.  But it also points out that it is very easy to misunderstand things and if someone is attracted to you or not.  However it also points out how  naïve and innocent some people are.

The whole story is super addictive, engaging and thoroughly thrilling. And there are times when this book goes to very dark places.

If you like pop culture references in books, then I have good news for you. There are a lot of these in this books, they are mostly comes from Joe. Which makes him even more a likably character.

However when it comes to the girl which Joe is obsessed with. She feels like a weak and not independent character. But there are times which she really shows her teeth and fights back.

Joe thoughts, lets talk about them for a second. There are times where his thoughts are so ridiculous that you just need to laugh.

This book also have some “Fifty shades of grey” type of stuff in it. You know these sex scenes which are described behind needed.

                 I give this book 5 / 5
