“The Power of Creativity: Learning How to Build Lasting Habits, Face Your Fears and Change Your Life” By Bryan Collins Review

This book is for new writers, musicians, filmmakers, artists and anyone who has ever asked questions like “How can I become more creative?” or, “How can I get more ideas?” or “How can I focus on my thoughts and just let them flow?” If you’ve ever struggled with a problem or challenge in your personal or professional life and thought, “I can’t do this, I’m not creative enough”, this book will help you.

I gotta admit here that this self-help book is not the greatest self-help book I have read in my time. But as always I will explain everything in this review. So if you are interested in hearing my thoughts about this book then keep reading this review my dear reader.

This book is a very quick read, because it has barely 100 pages and it explains everything in a nice and simple way which really makes going through this book quick. Which is one of the few things I liked about this book.

This book gives us a lot of quick success stories which makes it in a way more interesting to read this book and understand the points which the author makes in this book. Which made me give this book some extra points for doing.

But the self-help tips and topics this book talks about are very obvious in a way. Which made me think something along “no shit Sherlock, I have thought about this topic myself and came to the same conclusion”.

Which really shows in a way that the points which this book makes aren’t that hard to come up with. But this book doesn’t explain them in a nice and easy way which doesn’t make the points this book makes seem half bad.

But I gotta admit there that the majority of the points this book makes reminded me of other and better self-help books I have read in my time. Which made me think about the better self-help books I have read in my time reviewing books and comic books on this website which have been a while and involved a dozen of books by now.

The writing style in this book is very straightforward and easy going. Which makes this book easy to understand even thou this book is a self-help book which makes a lot of points on how to improve our lives.

I need to admit here that even thou this book is far from being one of the better self-help books out there in the world it wasn’t so bad as I feared this book would be.

But if someone wanted me to be honest here and say if I would recommend this book or not. I would say not. Because I would easily recommend better self help books I have read like “12 rules for life” by Jordan B Peterson, “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, “power of habit” by Charles Duhigg and “you are a badass” by Jen Sincero amongst other self-help books which would take too long for me to list them all here.

“The 7 Habits on the Go: Timeless Wisdom for a Rapidly Changing World eBook Companion” By Stephen R. Covey Review

This book is one of these self-help book which talk about the same things the more well known self-help book talks about but it just says it in different ways.

This book talks about a lot of self-help topics which I read hundreds of times in other and better self-help books at this point. Which means that this self-help book isn’t that unique but rather worse than the more well known self-help books available out there in the world.

This book is around 150 pages long which is like the average length for a self-help book. And in those 150 pages this book talks about a lot of topics, which means that each topics get very little time to explain itself.

Some topics in this book are very well and quickly explained which means you can understand it quicker than reading some other self-help book which has the same point in it. While other topics in this book are very poorly explained because of the short time they get in this book which makes it very hard to explain them properly.

The writing style in this book is okay for the most part. The writing style in this book is pretty generic to a self-help book. And it isn’t unique or extraordinary. Which really doesn’t give us a lot to talk about when it comes to it.

This book is pretty quick read and makes some good points here and there. But overall if you want to read a good self-help book than I wouldn’t say this book is a goo-to because it is. I would rather go with the more well known and better self-help books I already review on this website.

“An Effective Life: Inspirational Philosophy from Dr. Covey’s Life” By Stephen R. Covey Review

Covey wisdom ─ A key to satisfaction and success Stephen R. Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has inspired millions. Today’s generation will be newly inspired by Covey’s An Effective Life, a new approach to practicing the motivating principles taught by one of the greatest teachers of all time. An Effective Life shares original new perspectives on life and self-evaluation, striking infographics, and inspirational quotes in a fresh new package designed for the generation early in their careers and for those long-time Covey admirers who seek to improve their work and personal lives based on principles. You’ll also find a Personal Journal to help you process the insights you’ve gleaned from the book. This book is more than an inspiration, it is an introduction to important principles needed to live An Effective Life.

I gotta admit that this book feels like a very generic self-help book rather than a self-help book which is worth reading amongst all those millions of self-help books.

This book is more like a series of quotes and musings, rather than a “normal” book in the self-help genre. This book has more of a note-form style to it rather than being a regular self help book. This aspect of this book didn’t work for me personally for the most part but I think that this book makes some very good points throughout the entire book.

As someone who has read multiple self-help books by now, I gotta admit that this book feels more like a summary of all the self-help books and all the topics which the self-help book talking about rather than brining something new to the genre and the topic of meaningful self help book.

Even thou this book feels like it is a summary of other self-help books I gotta admit that the points which this book talks about, makes those points seem easier and simpler than the other self-help books which talk about the topics in more detail.

The points this book makes, are made very easy and simple to actully do them in real life. Which made me give this book some extra points for doing, because a lot of the self-help books I’ve read so far makes their points seem very hard and challenging to actually do. But this book takes the same points as the other generic self-help books have, and this book makes those points seem very simple and easy to follow through with.

The writing style in this book is very simple and easy going. Which makes this book to a very quick and easy read but also it makes this book suitable to read for everyone no matter the education level, age, nationality or daily life challenges.

“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life” By Mark Manson Review

Manson makes the argument, backed both by academic research and well-timed poop jokes, that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade, but on learning to stomach lemons better. Human beings are flawed and limited—”not everybody can be extraordinary, there are winners and losers in society, and some of it is not fair or your fault.” Manson advises us to get to know our limitations and accept them. Once we embrace our fears, faults, and uncertainties, once we stop running and avoiding and start confronting painful truths, we can begin to find the courage, perseverance, honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and forgiveness we seek.

I wanted to read this book for a while, because Ive heard a lot of good about this book and after reading this book I need to admit that this book is very good. But of course I will explain everything in this review, so lets get started on this review.

First of all which is important to mention about this book is that it is very well written. The writing style makes this book very easy and quick to read. The writing style doesn’t make this book feel heavy with making this book feel like a heavy school textbook.

Even thou this book is a non-fiction book it doesn’t feel like it, since there are many times where the author says something funny and makes a joke in this book. Which really makes you feel like you have simple taking a chat with the author over coffee rather than reading a non-fiction book. I of course gave this book some point for the humor this book has.

This book makes some very good points about how you can get your shit together and have a better life. All the points this books makes are really easy to go through with unlike the some self help books who talk about making those big life changes which are very unrealistic to achieve. The points with this book makes, are very simple and the author explains how to achieve the result you want.

In this book we also get examples from the author’s life, who has also struggles with a lot of things a lot of people struggle with. The author gives us the examples from his own life and how he used the points which this book talks about to achieve a better life.

This book is very interesting and enjoyable. Which really made me give this book some extra points for that. Because I personally was very clued to this book as I was reading it and I just couldn’t put it down, thats how interesting I found this book to be. I personally read this book in one sitting, which really says something to how interested I was in this book.

The author talks about some very important issues and he shows us how easily we can fix the things we don’t like in out lives like quitting smoking, using less social media and your phone and all the other stuff you might not like in your life which you want to change.

All the solutions the author gives us in this book, are very simple and realistic to achieve. Which I already said a few times in this review. The solution which this book provided are like this quote from this book „Don’t just sit there. Do something. The answers will follow.“ It sounds easy and achievable right ? This book shows us that you don’t have to have all the answers straight away, but the moment you start doing something, fixing something your brain will start working and before you notice it the answers will come to you.

“Self-Discipline: Everyday Habits to Build Willpower and Achieve Success” By Luke Thybulle Review

Unlock your potential and learn how to navigate life’s challenges with this powerful book about Self-Discipline and Willpower. You’ll discover the tools and everyday habits that you need to build confidence and self-belief, stay motivated, and break through any adversity.

I gotta admit that this book isn’t the best self help book I’ve read in my time. And this review will explain what I say that, so lets get into the review.

First of all the writing style feels like it was written by ChatGPT, because it bombards us with information without showing any examples. In a way reading this book felt worse than reading a high school textbook which really says something.

At the same time this books gives us the some very stupid sentences like “Successful people are aware that time does not carve itself”, “Waiting pays off, as they say”  or “Should you decide to accept it, the objective is to enter a flow state, which is a state in which you are “in the flow”.

Everything this books says feels like it was written by either a toddler or the worst AI from 1970s (a metaphor).

The only good thing about this book is that it is a quick read. I personally read it in one sitting on a rainy Sunday.

If you are looking for a very bad self help book, then this one takes the number one place in my opinion because I haven’t read worse self help book so far at least in my life.

“This Is How We Do It: A Pep Talk” By Kevin Hart Review

YOU CAN DO IT. You’ve heard this advice before. Yes, of course you have. It’s straight out of the self-help bible. But wait. Are you ready to hear it from a guy who’s made so many mistakes he could fill eighteen other books about them? A guy who went to community college for exactly two weeks and earned a degree in nothing? A guy who wore long tights for a marathon?

To be very honest here I had very little expectations for this book, since its a self-help book and I am very skeptical to self-help books written by celebrities since celebrities are very detected from reality as it goes. But after reading this book I gotta say that its actually very good but I’m gonna explain why I mean here throughout this review.

This book isn’t the type of self-help book which well researched, it is more what the tittle of the book says which is a Pep talk if you will. Reading this book feels more like having a conversations rather than reading a self-help book which tries to motivate you. Which made me give this book some extra points.

This book is a very quick read. At the same time it is a fun and good read even they you can tell it isn’t well researched but rather what Kevin Hart have learned throughput his life in the comedy industry and acting industry. So it means that this book doesn’t hav the same professional aspect to it as the majority of self-help books out there which really in my opinion only added more to this book. Since as I said above it makes this book fun to read.

This book does a very good job at motivating you to actually do the hard work and make changes in your life in the areas you aren’t satisfied with in your life. Which really a lot of self-help books Ive read in my day fails to do so and bombards you just scientific jargon which really doesn’t help you. But this book is positively different from the majority of the self-help book.

Some of the writing in this book is not the greatest. Its not bad nor is it good. The writing style is simple and easy to read. But a lot of times the writing style feels like something you would use when you talk with one of your good friends rather than writing a self-help book for the rest of humanity to read.

All the solution to get a better life presented in this book are very realistic and very easy to achieve if you sett your mind to. Which really made me give this book a few extra points when rating it.

“Think Like a Monk: Train Your Mind for Peace and Purpose Every Day” By Jay Shetty Review

Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others. Heavily in debt, and with no recognizable skills on his résumé, he moved back home in north London with his parents.

So I heard a lot of good about this book, but after reading this book I needed to say that the internet have fooled me again because this book is way overhyped when you look at the quality of this book.

The majority of this book talks about the author’s experience of being a monk and his life after returning to normal life. We get some self help advice here and there in this book but the majority focuses on the author’s thoughts, experience and challenges. I personally think that this book should be more a biography about the author rather than a self help book. I know it might be a very unpopular opinion here but thats my opinion.

The writing style in this book was very simple and easy going. Which really makes this book for everyone and not only people with a degree in psychology. Which really made me give this book some extra points.

But because of the majority of this book being about the author’s experience I didn’t like this book as I wanted to. Because before reading this book I had no idea who the author was so of course I didn’t have any interested in the author and still don’t have after reading this book.

For the most part this book recycles what other self help books talked about, but it doesn’t do it in its own unique way but rather in a very generic way. So because of the recycling of information and basically the same topics as other self help books I took away some points from this book.

I personally wouldn’t recommend this book because there are much better self help this book than this one. But for the most part this book way okay and not the worst I’ve seen in self help genre of books.

“You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life” By Jen Sincero Review

In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author and world-traveling success coach, Jen Sincero, serves up 27 bite-sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word. If you’re ready to make some serious changes around here, You Are a Badass will help you: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, blast past your fears so you can take big exciting risks, figure out how to make some damn money already, learn to love yourself and others, set big goals and reach them – it will basically show you how to create a life you totally love, and how to create it now.

I gotta say that this book is probably the best self help book Ive read this year. This talks about some pretty useful things which I personally found to be helpful. At the same time this book offers you some great techniques to make your life better.

The writing style in this book was very good, because it was like the author knew exactly what words to use too completely grab your attention and to not let it go until the very end of the book.

If you been following this website for a while then you will know that I’ve reviewed my fair share of self-help books in the past, but this one is unique because it talks about things which weren’t mentioned in the books I read in the best which really made me give this book some extra points for.

At the same time this book motivates you to actually put to use al the things which this book talks about. Which for me it rarely happens when a self-help book actually motives me rather than throw some mental health tactics down my throat.

At the same time this book is very easy and fun to read. Which really surprised me because most self help books turns out to be very uninteresting for me to read. But this one was different. I actually enjoyed reading this one.

This book is very hard to put down, because its so interesting and fun to read. I personally read this book in one day because I was so sucked into it and I just couldn’t put it down.

“Notes on a Nervous Planet” By Matt Haig Review

The societies we live in are increasingly making our minds ill, making it feel as though the way we live is engineered to make us unhappy. When Matt Haig developed panic disorder, anxiety, and depression as an adult, it took him a long time to work out the ways the external world could impact his mental health in both positive and negative ways. Notes on a Nervous Planet collects his observations, taking a look at how the various social, commercial and technological “advancements” that have created the world we now live in can actually hinder our happiness. Haig examines everything from broader phenomena like inequality, social media, and the news; to things closer to our daily lives, like how we sleep, how we exercise, and even the distinction we draw between our minds and our bodies.

This book has to be easily the best self help book I’ve read so far. This book literally consumed me while I was reading it and I found it very hard trying to pull myself away from this book, because it was so interesting.

This book was the first book ive read from Matt Haig and I need to say that I will read the rest of his books soon, because I absolutely loved this book and how it was written as well as how easy and understandable the author makes this book. If his books are as good as this one he will become my favorite author very easily.

This book makes a lot of good points about mental health and how to navigate our mental health in the era of instagram, Facebook, twitter, consumerism and internet in general. Which becomes a more and more relevant topic as more of our lives take place on the internet.

As someone who is dealing with panic attacks and depression I need to say that this book is very helpful and really motivates you to get your life back together even if it may seem very very hard or impossible at times.

As I’ve said above this book is very easy and simple to understand, which is a big reason why I love this book so much because even if this book uses a big words, the author takes the time to explain the term in a smooth and easy way. And the big words in this book are very rare because the author uses a very understandable language and not a lot of complex terms.

In this book, the author shares with us his personal experience dealing with mental health and what helped him and what he still struggles with decades later dealing with his mental health problems. Which really makes it relatable if you are struggling with your mental health and makes you realize that you aren’t the only one struggling even if it may seem like you are the only one.

This book shows you how you can take small steps when it comes with dealing with mental health problems, which may seem too small to matter what they will matter in the long run.

This book also inspired me to take a break from social media and try to quite the process of mindlessly scrolling through instagram, twitter or Tik Tok for hours each day and rather pick up a book.

The writings style here was amazing, it was like the author knew what words to use to fully grab my attention and to not let it go until the very end of this book. Which I complete love when it happens in books, but more so in non-fiction books.

When it comes to the ending of this book I thin it was a little bit weaker than the rest of this book, it wasn’t super bad or horrible but you could feel like this book gets a little bit worse during the last chapter of this book.

“How to Win Friends and Influence People” By Dale Carnegie Review

You can go after the job you want…and get it! You can take the job you have and improve it! You can take any situation you’re in…and make it work for you! Since its release in 1936, How to Win Friends and Influence People has sold more than 30 million copies. Dale Carnegie’s first book is a timeless bestseller, packed with rock-solid advice that has carried thousands of now famous people up the ladder of success in their business and personal lives.

Ive heard a lot of good things about this book, and thats why I decided to read this book. And I need to say that this book didn’t live up to all of expectations, which in a way disappointed me a little bit.

This book will for sure give you a lot of knowledge to learn from it, but at the same time some of the chapters in this book were short and I think that they should have been longer.

This book brushes against a lot of topics in psychology, like how to make people like you, how to influence other, be a good leader and how to make people feel important. And by doing so it gives us very good knowledge we can use in real life.

As I said above some of the advices were good to have in mind but other once where completely garbage and ridiculous.

The writing style here was meh to be fully honest here. Solely from the writing style you could tell that this book was written some time ago. This book was published in 1936, and the writing style pretty outdated and somehow hard to read at first if you aren’t accustomed to reading so old books.

This book is very well researched and done, but some of the tactics presented in this book are manipulative in way which makes me not applied them to real life because thats not quite ethical to be walking around and manipulating people to do what you want.
