“The Titan’s Curse” By Rick Riordan Review

It’s not everyday you find yourself in combat with a half-lion, half-human. But when you’re the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster. Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive.

I’m still not aboard with this series even after being half way through this series. To be honest I am not the biggest fan of greek mythology so there are couple of things which annoys me or which I find confusing and boring.

I continue to not be the biggest fan of the characters I was in the first 2 books in this series. Because there something in them which doesn’t seem right to me. Of course the characters are very good in this series but I just me being very picky.

My main problem with the characters in this series is that there isn’t character development. They are exactly the same as they were in the beginning of book one.

This book had an small improvement in action from the previous 2 books. The action in this book is more interesting and enjoyable but there are still something missing in my opinion.

So far in this series I feel like there are the same things happening. And that there are the same mistakes made by the main characters which really made me want to bang my head against a tree.

Of course we get introduced more new characters in this book but it feels like we get the new characters introduced just to forgot about them in the next chapters and for them to never come back again in this series.

When it comes to descriptions there could have been longer and more detailed in my opinion at least.

The plot here was very slow at the beginning and at the end. And the middle part in this book was too fast for me to fully enjoy it. For me personally it was too fast and I couldn’t keep my mind around everything which was happening. The previous 2 books in this series have the same problem.

The writing style here was okay. To be honest it was probably my favourite thing about this book. In a strange way it made me like this book much more.

“The Sea of Monsters” By Rick Riordan Review

The heroic son of Poseidon makes an action-packed comeback in the second must-read installment of Rick Riordan’s amazing young readers series. Starring Percy Jackson, a “half blood” whose mother is human and whose father is the God of the Sea, Riordan’s series combines cliffhanger adventure and Greek mythology lessons that results in true page-turners that get better with each installment.

To be honest this second book in the series of Percy Jackson was weaker than the first book in this series. But it still enjoyed it in a way.

The plot here was a little bit all over the place and at times I had hard time to keep track of everything which was happening.

Monsters here were amazing, I really enjoyed reading about them. They made this book so much better for me.

There is a lot of action in this book which I’ve enjoyed a lot. There was something always happening.

In this book I came to enjoy the Percy’s narration of the events. Which it really surprised me.

I continue to not be the biggest fan of the characters in this series. Because there something in them which doesn’t seem right to me. Of course the characters are very good in this series but I just me being very picky.

The ending here was very slow which made me disappointed in a way. Because after reading all of the actions in this book the very slow ending really took the wind out of it for me.

When it comes to descriptions there could have been longer and more detailed in my opinion at least.

The writing style here was amazing. To be honest it was probably my favourite thing about this book. In a strange way it made me like this book much more.

“The Lightning Thief” By Rick Riordan Review

Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can’t seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. And lately, being away at boarding school is only getting worse – Percy could have sworn his pre-algebra teacher turned into a monster and tried to kill him. When Percy’s mom finds out, she knows it’s time that he knew the truth about where he came from, and that he go to the one place he’ll be safe. She sends Percy to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for demigods (on Long Island), where he learns that the father he never knew is Poseidon, God of the Sea. Soon a mystery unfolds and together with his friends—one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena – Percy sets out on a quest across the United States to reach the gates of the Underworld (located in a recording studio in Hollywood) and prevent a catastrophic war between the gods.

I had high expectations for this book but to be honest with you, this book didn’t live up to all of them.

The plot here was very good, very interesting, entertaining and engaging. But somehow I couldn’t get fully in there. I was never a big fan of greek mythology which means that I didn’t understand a lot of the greek relating things.

The plot here was a very good mix of being funny at times but also being sad at times. Which really made me add some points.

There is a lot of action in this book which I’ve enjoyed a lot. There was something always happening.

The ending here could have been better if it had ended up at a cliffhanger. The ending over all was very slow which really made me disappointed.

The universe of Percy Jackson is very simple and easy. Almost too simple for my taste at least. Which might be the reason why I don’t enjoy this series as much as I wanted to.

The writing style here was amazing. To be honest it was probably my favourite thing about this book. In a strange way it made me like this book much more.

The characters here were very good but I wasn’t the biggest fan of them I don’t know why. They make some stupid decisions sometimes which is part of my problem with this book.

When it comes to descriptions there could have been longer and more detailed in my opinion at least.

Monsters here were amazing, I really enjoyed reading about them. They made this book so much better for me.

“The Coldest Touch” By Isabel Sterling Review

Elise Beaumont is cursed. With every touch, she experiences exactly how her loved ones will die. And after her brother’s death—a death she predicted but was unable to prevent—Elise is desperate to get rid of her terrible gift, no matter the cost. Claire Montgomery also has a unique relationship with death, mostly because she’s already dead. Technically, anyway. Claire is a vampire, and she’s been assigned by the Veil to help Elise master her rare Death Oracle powers. At first, Elise is reluctant to work with a vampire, but when she predicts a teacher’s imminent murder, she’s determined to stop the violent death, even if it means sacrificing her own future to secure Claire’s help.

This book was surprisingly good, I personally expected it to be another lame YA book about vampires. But it turned out to be a pretty decent and enjoyable read.

The plot here wasn’t a masterpiece but it was good. The plot in this book is interesting, enjoyable at times and it holds you engaged in the book.

In this book we get two perspectives from the two main characters which are Elise Beaumont and Claire Montgomery. Which I really like because we get two perspectives of the same story.

The characters here were okay, I personally didn’t care for them. Because they are typical YA characters.

The love story here feels like one of these instagram love stories which are insufferable and very lame.

The writing style is very boring at times. Which really toke away the fun from this book at times.

This book is a quick read, because it only has 350 ish pages.

“How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days” By K.M. Jackson Review

Bethany Lu Carlisle is devastated when the tabloids report actor Keanu Reeves is about to tie the knot. What?! How could the world’s perfect boyfriend and forever bachelor, Keanu not realize that making a move like this could potentially be devastating to the equilibrium of…well…everything! Not to mention, he’s never come face to face with the person who could potentially be his true soulmate—her.

To be fully honest here this book was all over the place, and in a way it was very strange.

If you are looking after a book where you can turn your brain off completely then this book is very relevant. Because the plot is very easy and at times this book gets interesting.

This book gave me the biggest stalker vibe, since the main plot in this book is about a 30 + years old fangirl who is obsessed and chasing Keanu Reeves in the hope of marrying him. And if you don’t classify this behaviour as stalking I don’t know what will.

The main characters in this book are well over 30 years of age, but they act like high schoolers which was really annoying, because full grown adults acting as teenagers isn’t a good sign of stable mental health.

However the plot was fun at times, and it defiantly was interesting to read it even thou it was far from a good plot.

The characters here were pretty generic young adult characters. They are very cheesy, awkward and embarrassing but also none of them have the ability of logical thinking.

The writing style in this book was okay, but it to be fully honest here it was weak and at times very weak and boring.

The premise of this book was fun because it was very unique but the way it was done it just didn’t work out that well.

However this book was enjoyable and interesting as long as you don’t analyse it. It is also a really quick read.

“After” By Anna Todd Review

Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way. But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to. But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.

I am very surprised over the fact how much I love this book. There is really something about it which made me love this book.

The size of this book have animated me before I started reading it. Because this book has around 580 pages depending on what version of this book you get. Which really makes it to a big book. However after reading this book, I was left with the feeling that this book was too short.

The plot in this book is very unique but at the same time very generic in a way. But I loved it. There is something very unique about the plot in this book. The best way to describe it is the plot in this book uses the generic plot for YA and romance and then presents us it in a very unique way.

The main characters in this book are Tessa and Hardin. And to be honest they both are super relatable however they are the polar opposites of each other. Tessa is the ultimate good girl and Hardin is the ultimate bad boy. And the process of seeing them change each other slowly really makes this whole book so much better.

The side characters are also so incredible, because they feel like real human beings with their unique personalities and something which set them apart from each other.

The writing style here so incredible, its almost like the author knows what words to use to fully grab you and not let you go until you finish the book. Which I personally love when it happens. Because it feels like the author tells the story just for you to like it.

The most annoying thing about this book for me personally, was the huge cliffhanger this book leaves us with. After I finished this book I was angry in a way that it would leave us with the biggest cliffhanger ever, but at the same time it made me want to grab the second book in this series to find out what will happen next.

To be honest that’s my whole dynamics with this book, I hate it but at the same time I love it.

“Dead and Gone” By Charlaine Harris Review

The great revelation goes well at first – then the horribly mutilated body of a were-panther is found in the parking lot of Merlotte’s, and Sookie agrees to use her telepathic talent to track down the murderer. But there is a far greater danger than this killer threatening Bon Temps: a race of unhuman beings, older, more powerful, and far more secretive than the vampires or the werewolves, is preparing for war. And Sookie is an all-too-human pawn in their ages-old battle.

In this book we get a new way going on. But this time it isn’t vampire war nor a were war. This time it is a Fae war which really blow my ming because I didn’t expect that to happen.

The plot here was okay for the most part. It wasn’t a masterpiece as the rest of the series. But the action in this book have picked up from the previous books. And the action happened to be interesting and engaging and I just couldn’t put the book down.

The characters here are very likeable and the character development is amazing in this series. The characters are still are on the annoying side in this book but it doesn’t bother me anymore because over the 9 books I grown to like them.

Eric in this book becomes the best character in this series. Which he already was for me personally.

To be honest the author had over-delivered thing which we as readers didn’t really care for. And it in a way had disappointed me.

This book changed the focus from vampire to every other supernatural creatures like shapeshifters, fairies etc. this happened in book 7 or 8 if I remember correctly but this fact became twice as strong in this book. We really get to see vampires in this book for max 10 pages and the rest is focus on the other supernatural creatures.

“From Dead to Worse” By Charlaine Harris Review

After the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina and the manmade explosion at the vampire summit, everyone human and otherwise is stressed, including Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse, who is trying to cope with the fact that her boyfriend Quinn has gone missing. It’s clear that things are changing whether the weres and vamps of her corner of Louisiana like it or not. And Sookie, Friend to the Pack and blood-bonded to Eric Northman, leader of the local vampire community is caught up in the changes.

This book is very engaging to be fully honest here I didn’t expect that because of the 2 previous books in this series which were meh.

The plot here was slow at the beginning but it picked up a little bit at the end which really wasn’t enough for me because I wanted more action.

Even thou we get a little bit of the action we still get engaged in this book because there is a vampire war and a were war going on. Which I personally found very enjoyable and interesting. Because of the 2 wars going on in this book we get more information and details on both the vampires and the shapeshifters. And we get more info on the hierarchy on these both groups.

In a way we get 4 different storylines in this book because there is the vampire war going on, were war, sookie’s boyfriend going missing and sookie trying to survive everything. To be honest it was confusing to keep track of everything and what problem we are going through at each page.

The characters here are very likeable and the character development is amazing in this series. The characters are still are on the annoying side in this book but it doesn’t bother me anymore because over the 8 books I grown to like them.

Even thou all these 8 books in this series so far take place in less than 1 year really don’t feel like it. It feels more like years went by because of the character development. Which really made me give this series a little bit of extra points.

“Cinderella Is Dead” By Kalynn Bayron Review

It’s 200 years after Cinderella found her prince, but the fairy tale is over. Teen girls are now required to appear at the Annual Ball, where the men of the kingdom select wives based on a girl’s display of finery. If a suitable match is not found, the girls not chosen are never heard from again. Sixteen-year-old Sophia would much rather marry Erin, her childhood best friend, than parade in front of suitors. At the ball, Sophia makes the desperate decision to flee, and finds herself hiding in Cinderella’s mausoleum. There, she meets Constance, the last known descendant of Cinderella and her step sisters. Together they vow to bring down the king once and for all–and in the process, they learn that there’s more to Cinderella’s story than they ever knew.

I had really low expectations for this book, to be fully honest I expected to not like this book but after reading it I came to love this book.

This book is a retailing of the cinderella fairy tale which everyone gets to hear many times during childhood. This book takes the cinderella fairy tale and puts it in a very dark places but in a very enjoyable way.

This book shows us that believing in something too much can be a bad thing and that it can makes us super blind. But also this book shows us that a hero role isn’t only for men but also for women.

The descriptions in this book are amazing, and they put a very clear picture in your mind.

There is corruption, money and power using which really seems like real life situation due to the politicians now on days.

The world in this book is amazing, it has the fairy tale feeling to it but at the same time it feels like it is a real life place.

The characters in this book are amazing, they feel like real human beings. Because they are super relatable, and we can relate to their feelings because we all been in situations where it seems that what we want to do is impossible.

The characters might have some lame and cheezy moments here and there, which really made it awkward at times.

The writing style in this book is amazing, its very easy at the same time it was like the author knew what words to use to fully crab your attention and make you read for hours.

The ending has a huge twist to it, which really wasn’t expected. Which really make this book so much better.

“All Together Dead” By Charlaine Harris Review

Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has her hands full dealing with every sort of undead and paranormal creature imaginable. And after being betrayed by her longtime vampire love, Sookie must not only deal with a new man in her life—the shapeshifter Quinn—but also contend with the long-planned vampire summit. The summit is a tense situation. The vampire queen of Louisiana is in a precarious position, her power base weakened by hurricane damage to New Orleans. And there are some vamps who would like to finish what nature started. Soon, Sookie must decide what side she’ll stand with. And her choice may mean the difference between survival and all-out catastrophe.

This book was disappointing in a way. Because there were even more drama than in the previous book and even less action.

This book was for sure interesting and the mystery was intriguing. But the ending here was too fast and too abrupt for me personally.

The first 2 / 3 of this book was about the normal life to Sookie and how pissed off she is on Bill. And the last 1 / 3 was about an vampire hotel. The action in this book didn’t take more than 5 pages all together.

However this book doesn’t disappoint with givings us more information and details on vampires, werwolves, fairies and in general the entire world of this series.

The characters here are becoming more and more likeable. While reading the first book in this series I didn’t like Sookie but now I just love here. It might be because I used the time to read the series I just became used to her.

Every character gets more and more development with each book which makes men love them more and more. And because of this I grow to enjoy this series more and more.

In this book we get way too little of Eric. But am glad that we get very little of Bill because for me he is the worst asshole there could be.

However the descriptions in the last part of this book were painful but also ridiculous during some moments.

The plot here goes up in a way for me because the plot starts to of in the fire section direction of a lot of deaths and violence in a way. I like it because I prefer vampires who wants to kill you and not kiss you.

Overall this book is very enjoyable, interesting and fun to read but at the same time it is very frustrating.

If I have to choice this book wasn’t my favourite book in this series. It might be one fact the second worst in this series so far for me personally.
