“Breaking Dawn” By Stephenie Meyer Review

Bella and Edward Cullen get married, leaving behind a heartbroken Jacob. When Bella faces unexpected and life-threatening situations, she willingly risks her human life and possible vampire immortality.

I gotta say that this book was the best book in the twilight series so far. I still got two books to read in this series. And these two books are “Life and Death” and “Midnight Sun”. But so far this was the best book in the series so far at least and im giving this book extra points for that.

However I need to say that I have had less fun with this book than I’ve had with the first book in this series. Because I’m not team Jacob and pregnancy kind of disgust me.

There are some moments in this books which don’t make any sense like Edward having sex with Bella when Bella is still a human and Edward is basically the killing machine which can kill her at any second. Another thing is the pregnancy to Bella. She becomes pregnant and gives birth in less than 3 weeks. I gotta say that, that was the fastest pregnancy in the history of everything. There were more things but these two are the main things which made no sense to me.

The writing style feels like it had run down the hill since the first book in this series, because the writing style in this book was kind of bad but the writing style in the first book was amazing. 

The plot was okay, and for the most part it is what you can expect from twilight and teen book about love and vampires. 

The fact that Jacob and Edward in this book are starting to have a little bromance after 3 books of being in a war with each other also didn’t make much sense to me. But I guess that in young adult books nothing has too make sense as long as there is werewolves, vampires, a shy main character with not much friends and a small town.

“A Gentleman in Moscow” By Amor Towles Review

A Gentleman in Moscow immerses us in another elegantly drawn era with the story of Count Alexander Rostov. When, in 1922, he is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, the count is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him a doorway into a much larger world of emotional discovery.

I gotta say that I’ve had high expectations for this one, but it didn’t live up to these expectations. It means like the higher rating a book has on goodreads the lower my rating becomes for whatever mysterious reason. 

The plot itself is the overall about the Communist Russia where you aren’t allowed to speak about how fucked up Russia is but the main character got out of this trouble quit easily because he is a rich. And he spend the entire book yapping about how the world is unfair because his big apartment got taken away from him and he must live in much smaller apartment. 

The writing style is quit amazing, because it has the old timey vibe to it, but nothing more than this. It could have been much better if the author decided to not use so many words as he did in this book. It really seemed like the author was trying to put every word he knew in this book. 

The sentence structure is just insane in this one. Because it is bloated that it doesn’t even make sense sometimes. And the footnotes here are too many of them in this Novell. 

Everyone talks about how wonderful this novel is but in my opinion this novel is just a boring, stuffy and stodgy novel. 

This novel takes place in a period of 30 years. And there are times where characters disappears for year to just reappear again after like 20 years. This really annoyed me because it like deleting a part of the novel.

This book has talk a decent deal about best wines and best foods. And I don’t care for it. Of course I love food but when I’m picking a book I don’t want to read about how good expensive food and wine is. 

The main characters seemed like caricatures or a parody of a main character. And the amount of wine and other alcohol he drinks in this book is so unbelievable.

The descriptions in this one and the details are too much in this book. There will be couple of times where the author will spend one whole side describing nothing which brings something to the main story. 

The history aspect of this story is that it doesn’t make sense. Because while thousands of people have been killed during the Stalinist rule, our main character done a similar crime to people how have been murdered but he just gets the punishment to be locked in a luxury hotel and drink wine all day and do nothing.

“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” By J.K. Rowling Review

I can’t believe how fast I’m going through Harry Potter books, in a little bit over a month I was able to finish 3 Harry Potter books while reading other books on the side. 

I really wish that I’ve read these books when I was in grade school because I would have loved them more than I do now and I would get into reading sooner. 

This book really proves why the Harry Potter series is still one of the best book series which was ever written. It doesn’t matter if you like Young Adult books or not, I promise you that you will like this book and the whole series. Because it isn’t as much Young Adult as fantasy. 

The big twist at the end really blown my mind. I think that most of you know what twist I’m talking about but I won’t say it in case there is someone reading this review who haven’t read this book yet. But I gotta say I truly loved the twist at the end it was so fucking amazing. It was so good that I don’t even have words to describe it. 

The writing style is so good, it really didn’t feel like a Young Adult writing style as much as it felt like a high fantasy writing style. It wasn’t on the level with “A song of ice and fire” but it was very correct writing style for the whole plot in this book and for the theme of the book.

The plot of this book was just wow. I gotta say that the plot have really blown me away. I knew that the books in this series was good but this one have created a new level for this series. 

However I wish that there were more talk about Sirius Black at the beginning and in the middle part of this book. Because this book is supposed to be about him but we don’t get much of him until we are pretty deep into this book. This kind of disappointed me. 

And I gotta say that this book was the first book which made me have some negative thoughts about Professor Snape. As someone of you may know, Professor Snape is my favourite character when it comes to the movies but this book made a huge change because after reading this book my new favourite character is none other than Sirius Black.

I loved also to see Hermione to develop more as a character and not just be the all nerdy school girl made my day. Especially when she gave a knuckle sandwich to Draco’s face.

“Eclipse” By Stephenie Meyer Review

In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

I gotta say that this one is the weakest book in the whole series so far, keep in mind that I have still like “Breaking dawn”, “Life and Death” and “Midnight Sun” to read. Which means that I’ve have 3 books to read in this series so everything can happen. But lets get into the review.

The plot oh boy, was very very weak. Because Jake begins to feel more or more crazy as the rest of the gang in this book. Edward become even more insufferable in this book, Charlie the only rational parent in this book have lost his mind as the rest of the gang. Bella gets even more insufferable than Edward because she won’t stop yapping about how being human sucks and how being a vampire is so amazing and great.  And I gotta say Rosalie have become my favourite character because in this book we get to know why she doesn’t like Bella and why she is always so grim. I really wish that Bella was like her and less like Edward in a way.

The writing style really takes a dive in this book, so much that I needed to switch to an audiobook instead of reading the physical version of this book. I had super hard time reading this book.

The situation between Jake, Edward and Bella is just even more insufferable than Edwards and Bella together. Because when Edward was gone in the second book in the series Bella became super best friends with Jake but the moment Edward showed up she completely forgets about Jake and just throws him out of her life like trash. It’s not a fun way to treat someone even a fictional character.

And the fact that Jake calls Edward “Blood-sucker” and Edward calls Jake “Dog” and Bella just lets them offend each other in front of her really pisses me off. Because how can you let your parent and your best friend insult each other in front of you and just not say anything about it? I can’t understand that. 

The big fight which this entire book is about doesn’t happen longer than 10 pages even the rest of the boo over 400 pages is about getting ready for the fight. Whats the point of doing that? Creating a fight for 400 pages but when the fight comes don’t give it longer time than 10 pages? Can someone explain this to me?

For the record I bought this book on Ebay very long ago, (2015) back when I was 13 years old and interested in witchcraft and supernatural stuff. But along the way something happened and I’m very skeptical person now. With that being said lets get into the review.

As you might expect this book is nothing but “spells” which will help you get rich, turn into werewolf, find love, turn into vampire and other not so clever things which can’t happen by just lighting candles and saying some words in the woods. 

I can’t say much about these so-called spells because I don’t know who people review spells but if any of you know that please let me know.

After going doing my research on Goodreads about this book I found out that most of the people who have read this book liked it but I didn’t.

The language in this book was pretty simple but some explanations were really hard to understand. It might be something to do with English being my second language but yet again I never read any spells before this book.

As I’ve said above I’m very skeptical person when it comes to everything out of the ordinary and magic is one of these things Im very skeptical towards. And this person didn’t do a good job at conniving me that magic is real.

For the most part it felt like a textbook from the Hogwarts which have been removed from the use. And it wasn’t even good enough for Hogwarts because it felt like it was trying way to hard to look like something from Hogwarts but not fitting.

“Cabin Fever” By Jeff Kinney Review

Greg Heffley is in big trouble. School property has been damaged, and Greg is the prime suspect. But the crazy thing is, he’s innocent. Or at least sort of. The authorities are closing in, but when a surprise blizzard hits, the Heffley family is trapped indoors. Greg knows that when the snow melts he’s going to have to face the music, but could any punishment be worse than being stuck inside with your family for the holidays?

I gotta say that I was a big fan of the 3 first book in this series when they came out, and back then I was like 9 years old. And I the first book in this series is the first book I remember reading without needing to read it for school. 

Since I’ve read the first 3 book in this series as an idiot kid I’ve decided to re-read the books I’ve already read in this series and read the rest of this series. Which will take some time because I’ve also started the twilight series and Harry Potter series and I have to finish a song of ice and fire series and the Witcher series. So this series is pretty far down on the list of books I want to read this year. 

The children’s genre isn’t something I’m reading now while being 19 years old, and I didn’t read any book meant for kids for at 10 years. And this book is the definition for a book meant for kids in like the middle school level. But I kind of enjoyed it a little bit but most of it was because of the nostalgia thing to this book series. However this type of book isn’t my vibe, and I try to avoid at all costs books like this one.

The writing style is okay when you look at this book from the perspective of middle grade child who is reading this series for the first time without any hobbit or harry potter reading experience from the past. 

While reading this book I was bored out of my mind and I couldn’t focus on it because my brain and my attention wasn’t having it when it came to reading this book. 

The plot itself was okay for a book meant for. Middle grade kids but it wasn’t nothing to advanced or likeable reading it as an adult.

“New Moon” By Stephenie Meyer Review

I knew we were both in mortal danger. Still, in that instant, I felt well. Whole. I could feel my heart racing in my chest, the blood pulsing hot and fast through my veins again. My lungs filled deep with the sweet scent that came off his skin. It was like there had never been any hole in my chest. I was perfect – not healed, but as if there had never been a wound in the first place. 

I gotta say it felt nice to not have Edward on every single page of the book, and have a little break from him in this book. Not having Edward around, Bella have become so much better character than she is when Edward is around. Every time Edward is around Bella becomes a 10 year old girl in completely in love. That isn’t even half bad. The thing which is the worst with this series is that Bella won’t shut up when it comes to how Vampires are much better than humans and how being  a human sucks. This aspect of this series really pisses me off because being a human is something much better than being a worthless dumb vampire. Yes I’m not a fan of vampires.

The writing style here is bad, the first book was much better when it came to the writing style. Because the writing style in this one was just super bad and it didn’t make sense to me when I was reading it.

When it comes to the plot itself then I’m sort of mentioned it above, but overall it was much better than the first book in this series. Because Edward wasn’t in this book as much as he was in the first book. For me personally Edward is insufferable, and to me he feels like the definition of a bipolar disorder in a teenager. My favorite character after reading this book becomes Jacob because he is the only person who feels like he is fully sane when everyone else in this book series feels like they are completely insane and out of their minds. 

Im Still having super hard time with the story and the characters because the story and the characters feels so out of touch as it possible can be. Edward is basically the guy with bipolar disorder, Bella is this 18 year old who didn’t develop after the age of 6, and every character beside of Jacob have some kind of disorder to them which truly makes this whole series a freak show. 

However this book isn’t half bad as I thought after watching the movie. The movies in the twilight franchise it the pure torture in my life.

“11/22/63” By Stephen King Review

He enlists Jake on an insane—and insanely possible—mission to try to prevent the Kennedy assassination. So begins Jake’s new life as George Amberson and his new world of Elvis and JFK, of big American cars and sock hops, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake’s life—a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time.

This book was the first Stephen King book I’ve read this year, and it disappointed me because I had very expectations for this book which it didn’t live up to. Which was really sad to see because I’ve heard so many good things about this book. But it was still good, but not as good as I’ve expect it to be.

The ending pissed me off a little bit but it actually earned this book a star. The reason why it posted me off a little but is because Jake Epping got a girlfriend when he time traveled to 1963 and when he came back to the present at the end of the book he had stalked that poor girl like a complete psychopath. 

When it comes to this book as a whole I need to say that I’ve have very mixed feeling about it. On one side I didn’t like this book but on the other side I’ve liked this book.

The writing style here it didn’t feel quite like Stephen King but rather it felt like someone who was pretending to be Stephe King. Which really disappointed me as I was reading this book. 

The plot itself was okay but it had the potential to be much better than it actually was. It was good enough fir it to get 3 stars but nothing more than that. It felt like Stephen King could have done so much better work than what he had actually done in this one.

And 1 / 3 of this book wasn’t even about the assassination of JFK but rather about Jake having two girlfriends at the same time and having a two different life in the early 1960s. Which really didn’t go well with me because I didn’t pick up this book to read about Jake going back in time, get two girlfriends, prevent the assassination of JFK, go back to the present and then stalking one of these two girlfriend from the early 1960s. This book would have been so much better if this 1 / 3 of this book was just edited out because it really killed the mood of this book and it made it so uninteresting and boring.

“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” By J.K. Rowling Review

Harry Potter’s summer has included the worst birthday ever, doomy warnings from a house-elf called Dobby, and rescue from the Dursleys by his friend Ron Weasley in a magical flying car. Back at HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY for his second year, Harry hears strange whispers echo through empty corridors – and then the attacks start. Students are found as though turned to stone… Dobby’s sinister predictions seem to be coming true.

I gotta say that I’ve enjoyed this second book much more than the first book in the series. And it was a little bit better than the first book but not much better just a half point better. 

I think that most of you have read this books well as the whole series. So I don’t need to explain this book.

The writing style in this book was the generic young adult book writing style as you might expect from it. But when it comes to the overall rating of the writing style then it was pretty decent but nothing extraordinary. 

I gotta give this book points for giving us more background of Hogwarts and what things happened before Harry Potter arrived at the school. 

The plot in this book is amazing, it gripped me and wouldn’t let me go until I’ve finished the entire book. The entire plot it super interesting and enjoyable but there couple of moments where the action went to slow.

When it comes to the action then it was very slow. The whole action of this book happens at the ending fo the book which really pissed me off because this book would have been better if the action started sooner then the ending.

The ending was super fun, and it brought a lot to the story which I need to give it points for. 

However I wished that we could have seen more from the teachers and that the book would make every teacher in the book different from the other teachers. 

When it comes to my favourite character in the series then it is still Professor Snape. If he would have been a real teacher at my school back in the day, then for sure he would be my all time favourite teacher and I would have been at least 5 minutes early to each of his classes.

“The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” By Stephenie Meyer Review

Exploration of the life of newborn vampire Bree Tanner, who briefly appears in the novel Eclipse as a member of Victoria’s vampire army. Bree is a teenage girl who is changed into a vampire by Victoria. Bree lives with a coven of twenty other newborns and Riley, Victoria’s subordinate.

So I gotta say here that this book was so much better than the first twilight book. This one was my second twilight book so I can’t really compare it to other books in the series. But that gonna change that soon enough, I hope at least. 

The things which pissed me off with the first twilight book didn’t exist here because it wasn’t about Edward and Bella. They were in this book but they were more like side characters which I enjoyed. Bree, the main character was younger than Bella in the first book but she was more likeable, she made better decisions. If Bella was even somehow similar to Bree then the whole main plot would have been so much better.  

This book provides us with a new and unique look into the book series which I truly enjoyed and Stephenie Meyer should write more book in this series which are from perspectives of more side characters like Jasper’s perspective, Jacob’s perspective, Esme’s perspective, Carlisle’ perspective and so on. Doing this would add a lot to this whole universe. 

The writing style was okay, but not much to talk about here. It for the most part was a typical YA book writing style which you know isn’t too deep or too hard. The language is very simple which really speaks that it is a YA book.

The plot itself was very good, it was so much better than the first twilight book. Because it had much more into it. It was short and it didn’t drag for so long as it did with the first book.

The characters here didn’t make so many decisions which pissed me off like they did in the first book in this series. Im really grateful for that because it shows that Stephenie Meyer can great good characters. 

I kind of wished that this book would have been longer than it was. And that this book had more descriptions to it and that it would start at the moment when Bree become a vampire so that we would be more familiar with her and get to know here better.

The ending here was good because it ended in the battlefield between the two covens on the open field in the forest. And I kind of liked that because you wasn’t left with nothing to connect the book to.
