“Hashtag” By Remigiusz Mróz Review

Tesa wasn’t expecting any delivery, she wouldn’t order anything online – and even if she did, she certainly wouldn’t have chosen to deliver to a parcel locker. If she didn’t have to, she didn’t leave the house. However, she decided to check the mysterious package – and it turned out to be the biggest mistake she had ever made. She fell into a spiral of events that would completely change her life

At the time of writting this review this book is only available in Polish.

This book is sort is sort of a mystery-thriller book. Which isnt that good as you may think. If you are Polish and you know that author you might assocaite him crime series which is somehow popular in Poland.

However this book is a good prove that some authors should get out of writting books in the genre which made them popular in the first place.

It is said that this book is pyschological thriller but it is far from it, if you want me the be truly honest with you.

There are dozens and dozens pieces in this book which doesnt fit in togeter. There are sort of jumping back and forward in time all the time. And there is some kind of two dimensions vibe to this book because of the fact that the jumping in time happens so often in this book.

The characters in this book are too flat to even be ranked somewhere on the character scal. Which really speaks for itself. Yes there are few characters in this book, but none of them are worth speaking of or even mentioning. You can’t relate to any characters in this book which makes it not easy to like this book

The psychological game in this book is okay but it is to poor written and put together. The beginning was good but when the game began to bring in more details and the jumps in timeline become more and more frequent it had just ruin the story a lot.

The thing with Twitter involvement in this book is pretty good, but still kind of cheap trick and use of the psychological game. Even the unknown number calls or texts would be much better in this book than the Twitter element.

The writing style is kind of a cheap. Of course there are times where the writing style really drags you into the story but there arent a lots of these times and these times also doesnt last that long as you would like.

The way how the author choose to present the story to us was kind of a cheap and boring. It almost feels like the author really hard tried to be Stephen King and Dan Brown at the same time. Which never will work if you know the work of these two authors.

Even if you are a fan of psycholgical books like myself, you wil have hard time vibing with the story or even liking it.

“Psychopata” By Klaudia Muniak Review

At the BCT research and development center, tests are being carried out on a modern, non-invasive method of fighting brain tumors. Maja Lipska, a young researcher, achieves spectacular success. After a banquet at the end of one of the conferences, he wakes up on a park bench. To her horror, she discovers that she has no idea what she has been doing for the last thirty-six hours. At the same time, young women are brutally murdered in Krakow. All the clues point to the operation of a serial killer. The investigation is carried out by Maja’s partner, who does not like her reckless behavior. When one day at the BTC center the body of one of the workers is found, it seems that it is another victim of the “Krakow cutthroat”.

Before we start this review it is important to mention that at the time of writting this review this book is only available in Polish but lets hope that it will change soon.

First of all I need to give this book points for having a good idea behind it and that the main character was acctually amazing and written very well.

This book was my first medical thriller so I didnt have high expection for it, but still it had disapointed me. The whole story we got here is just a skeleton and nothing more than that.

Characters in this book was pretty decent. The main character was good and there were some good characters and some less good characters in this book. I mentioned it before in other reviews but the quality will always win over quantity. So it would be much better if this book had less characters but good characters. All characters were difficult to associate with.

There are things which really throw off me at least. Which I cant really mention without spoiling anything for you guys so I wont do that.

This book could be longer and have more descirptions, details and longer process than it acutally had.

Medical experiments and serial killer does usuallly the work for me when it comes to me liking a book but not in this case. Because the whole potential of this book wasnt used as it could have been.

For the most part this book as a whole was super annoying to say at least. Because of the drama which was created by the main character and that the whole potential wasnt used.

The beginning of the ending was pretty good but it quickly turned into complet trash and nothing more than that. If you are like me and you have watched dozens and dozens thriller movies and read dozens and dozens thriller book you will more or less expect it or expect something close it.

“Blood of Elves” By Andrzej Sapkowski Book Review

The only good elf, it seems, is a dead elf. As the threat of war hangs over the land and the child is hunted for her extraordinary powers, it will become Geralt’s responsibility to protect them all – and the Witcher never accepts defeat.

This book is very slow and very closed-off. Which really takes this book in a bad direction.

The main problem with this book (and the whole series) is that women are sexualised at almost every possible point throughout the series.

There were times when you got the vibe that the author mostly had no idea what he is talking about, especially when it came to women being involved.

The world which we get in this book is incredible and I would love to know more about it and get some different stories out of it. But this book really doesn’t use the potential of the characters nor the world. 

This book is more or less full of political intrigue. And this one doesn’t really deviate from the generic fantasy trope of races warring with races, crossing borders and sacking cities. 

There are parts where this book gives a huge YA fantasy vibe which again isn’t that great for someone who isn’t a fan of YA.

The writing style again felt like a cross between Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire Series. And again there were times where the writing style goes down hill for awhile. 

The characters are pretty okay. There are some good characters and there are some annoying characters. However these annoying characters really takes away this one. 

The plot as a whole sounds very interesting but the author did not use or care about the potential which this book could have.

The dialogue were pretty uneven kindly said. There were times where the dialogues had probably way too much exposition and varied very wildly in tone to each other.

This one is my third book in The Witcher series and oh boy, this series isn’t going well with me. Which is strange because I’m a huge fan of “A Song of Ice and Fire Series”.

“My Best Friend’s Exorcism” By Grady Hendrix Review

This book is probably one of the most overhyped books which are reviewed on this blog so far. Most of the people I follow in the book community on the internett have read this book and all of them have rated this book with 4 or 5 stars, which I don’t understand.

I need to give this book points for the 80s vibe in the design of this book, and for the 80s horror movie vibe to the whole story. An extra thing I have appreciated with this book is that there is a Spotify playlist to this book.

The characters in this book are flat, overdramatic and boring. The best way to describe the characters in this book is to say that all the characters are typical YA characters which not a lot of people will like. But in the end if you are not a fan of the YA genre you will not like this book as a whole. This book is a little bit surpricisng and harcorde for a YA book but in the end the way the story is written and the way all characters are presented you will instantly see that this book is a YA book.

The main character Abby really annoyed me annoyed me throughout the whole book. Because at the beginning she was the wannabe kid which wanted to be popular so badly that she could have done anything. And when the books jumpes in time when she and the other main chracter are teens, she is bascially making the stupiest decisions ever just as she had lost her brain somewhere when she was growing up.

The characters in this book felt like the author of this book really tried way too hard to create relevant teens which will make stupid decisions.

The ending is disappointed and you could feel it coming all the way from the middle of this book.

The main plot of this book is possesion, but there are also many (way too many) side plots like rape, some kind of personal vedetta, high school drama, boyfriend / girlfriend drama and other high school bull shit.

The book would be much better if the author cut hald of these side plots and stick to the main plot and dont just focus on the side plots in the middle of the book.

The excessive / gratuitous animal death doesn’t make this book better. If a book has a brutal / excessive / gratuitous aimal death just expect that, that book will get a bad review.

“I love you but not queerly, so don’t expect too much” is a recurring theme of this book so be warned.

It’s important to say that this book isn’t fully written by Stephen King, the best way to describe this book would be to say that Stephen King and Bev Vincent have edited this book. This book is a collection of 17 plane horror stories, however you will find in this book one short story written by Stephen King, one short story written by Bev Vincent and one short story written by the son of Stephen King aka Joe Hill. 

So if you are expecting from this book to be the typical Stephen King book you will be disappointed. This book I would say will be better for people who are starting their journey with books / short stories or for people who just want to read a relaxing book which don’t need a lots of brain power and work to it. 

For people who are already having a fear of planes and flying this book will only make their anxiety and fear bigger. But when it comes to people like me who loves to travel by plane will for the most part don’t create any anxiety or fear. It will for the most part give you stories to think about when you’re at the plane, flying somewhere. 

All the stories in this book are more or less different from each other. some stories are about zombies on the plane, some are about monster attacking the plane, some are about murder mysteries and all the way to the unknown demons in the clouds. And if you are a fan of time travel you will also find a story involving time travel in this book. So this book needs to get points for having at least one story for every one. It’s safe to say that each story in this collection are sort of related with other genres and styles, so this book also needs to get points for that as well. 

Each story in this book is some how introduced by Stephen King. And this sort of adds something to the stories and for sure puts another dimension to each of them.

In this book we have 17 different authors so it would be stupid to talk about writing style, because every author have some how different writing style. 

In the end this book is interesting and very fun to read. And for sure it has something which everyone will enjoy which doesn’t happen with a lots of books.

“Sword Of Destiny” By Andrzej Sapkowski Book Review

Geralt is a witcher, a man whose magic powers, enhanced by long training and a mysterious elixir, have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin. Yet he is no ordinary murderer: his targets are the multifarious monsters and vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent. He roams the country seeking assignments, but gradually comes to realise that while some of his quarry are unremittingly vile, vicious grotesques, others are the victims of sin, evil or simple naivety.

Just as “The Last Wish” this book was also a collection of short stories which follows Geralt. However these short stories are longer than the stories from “The Last Wish”.

It’s important to mention that this book was written 1 year or so before “The Last Wish” but chronologically this book comes after “The Last Wish” so keep that mind. 

There is much action in this one than in the “The Last Wish”, and there is less drama between Geralt and Yennefer which I personally am very thankful for.

The writing style is good but still there are times were it goes downhill just as in “The Last Wish”. As well as there are times when the writing style feels like a cross between Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire Series.

The characters are pretty okay. There are some good characters and there are some annoying characters. Which you can pretty much expect from a book series. Just as in “The Last Wish”.  However this one had more of these good characters and less of these annoying character as the “The Last Wish”.

This one also had more creatures in it which played bigger role than just couple of dialogues which happened in “The Last Wish”. 

 The dialogue were pretty uneven kindly said. There were times where the dialogues had probably way too much exposition and varied very wildly in tone to each other.

There were still parts which felt really boring just as in “The Last Wish”, but there were less of these parts than in the “The Last Wish”.

This book however provides you with large amount of details when it comes to Geralt’s work as the Witcher and details about many of the creatures and beats which you can find in the universe. 

This one also provides you with more details about Geralt’s and Yennefer’s relationship. Which for some people might be a big point.

This book is half autobiography and half bragging as you can expect from Donald Trump. But it is still 100% interesting, I personally dont Im a fan of his or fan of politics however I couldn’t stop reading this book.

This book will give you some good business lessons that are simple but people forget about them. So far this book is one of the best business books for beginner which you can read. 

No matter if you like this guy or not you will most likely learn something from it. Because it really shows that wealthy doesn’t happen overnight but rather throughout the years. 

This book is both very interesting and very engaging. Dont forget that Donald Trump is a showman and a very good business man. 

For the most part this book is a hands-on approach to your business mixed with very good advice, making your intentions known to the public and waiting until things fall into the right place for you to move with your plans.

However this book involves a lots of talk about Trump was dealing with licensing and zoning boards which gets boring after sometime. 

There are also many times in this book about him calling people up personally, and how these people were often happy to have that done. And there are also times in this book where he is choosing the marble for the floors or brass for railings, even taking an interest in air conditioning and piping.

For the most part this book is a good book even 30 ish years after it was written and published. 

If you are one of these people who wants to understand his early business background and influences better then this book is for you to read. 

In this book Trump discusses some of his early project in depth and concludes with a summary of which deals were successful, which ones were not, which ones he had to rework. 

This book is definitely a classic and a must read book in the business field. 

In this book Donald Trump is pretty honest about the early deals and business he has done. 

This book contains a lot of wisdom and knowledge that can be applied to in making various business deals but also in life in general. It will also give you knowledge about how to treat others and also about marketing yourself and your skills.

“The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne Review

The Secret contains wisdom from modern-day teachers—men and women who have used it to achieve health, wealth, and happiness. By applying the knowledge of The Secret, they bring to light compelling stories of eradicating disease, acquiring massive wealth, overcoming obstacles, and achieving what many would regard as impossible.

This book is another sort of a mix of nonfiction and self help book which as we all know some people will love and others will hate it. And there is nothing between hate or love when it comes to books like this. 

The whole idea is pretty good. Because it’s for the most part that “good attracts good” and “bad attracts bad” which sort of make sense which a lots of self help book lacks now on days. 

The writing style is bad, for the most part the writing is nothing but “do this and this will happened if you believe”. The writing style will make some people hate this book. Because it almost feels like the author didn’t care about putting good enough effort to this book. And all she did want is to collect pay checks for this book. 

This book could have had the potential to be so much better if the author would just cut out the quotes of other people and but more effort in the writing style. 

The whole book for the most part is just a collection of quotes from doctors, scientist, random people and the rest of humanity. And there is no origin story to “the secret” or something supporting that’s the real thing. All we get is that Albert Einstein believed in it and it’s real. 

There is no background to it and no evidence to it. If you want to believe it, no one on this blog is telling you that you can’t. I’m just saying that some people needs evidence supporting everything.

“Inkub” by Artur Urbanowicz Review

Two eras. Two stories. One village. One witch. One curse. Imagine you can do anything. Even cheat death. The case of his death is being investigated by Vytautas Česnauskis, a policeman of half Lithuanian origin from the municipal headquarters in Suwałki. He discovers that Jodozior’s dark history has its roots in the seventies

This book has around 730 pages, which may scare off some people. Because you will need at least 2 – 3 weeks to finish it. And this size scared me at the beginning and I needed couple of weeks to actually start reading it. But when I began reading it, I read this book in 2 weeks. 

The whole plot of this book felt to me at least really overrated because there are dozens and dozens of books about witches, curses and haunted houses. But Artur Urbanowicz in this books shows us that you can actually write something original, unique and good in the topics which now on days are overrated.

Ive done some research and I found out that this story is based on a true real life legend of a village in the Suwałki County in Poland. The whole legend is very similar to this book when it comes to the basics here. Which are allegedly a witch living in a small village who had create a curse on a village. But let’s go back to the book. 

In this book Artur Urbanowicz really shows that not only Stephen King can write brilliant, scary and creepy books with eerie moods to them. 

This book is written in a similar way to “It” by Stephen King because it involves two different time periods in it. And every chapter goes from 1971 to 2016 and back to 1971. However I personally felt that this was very annoying in “It” by Stephen King because it was too long and a lots of parts could have been edited out, but this book was different then “It” by Stephen King. Everything which is in this book feels like it needs to be there just to see the whole picture of this book which it presents to its readers.

Because of the reason that this book goes back and forth between 1971 and 2016, the reader feels like we are lost somewhere in time. Because of the reason that we see the two stories from two different points in life happening side by side. 

This book (at the time of writing) has not been translated to English or any other language except of polish. But I do hope it will be soon for all fans of the horror genre. Because this book is something which every horror reader and horror fan should read. Because this book shows that a you can get a different perspective on a topic which now on days with all these games, books and tv shows have been over used so many times.

I need to say that it is sort of hard to get into this book for the first couple of chapters but as the story reveals that there might be something more to the infamous village it sort of drags you in and you cant stop reading it.

The writing style itself can be compared with Stephen King. Because this book holds onto you until you finish it, and it really stays in your mind for a long time. The writing style in this book makes you feel like you are a part of the story and like you are following the main characters from 1971 and 2016.

The atmosphere in this book seems like a cross between Edgar Allan Poe and Stephen King. Because you have the witch character which 

sort of gives you the gothic vibe because of the black dress she uses and as well as the demons, ghosts and hallucinations which Stephen King really loves you use in his books.

The ending is a banger. Because it ends with a juicy and big cliffhanger. Which really makes you want that this book would have a sequel to it, but you know after finishing this book that the sequel would ruin the whole fun you had with this book.

For a really long time I personally was waiting to read so good book as this one. Since “outsider” by Stephen King which was in November of 2020, I haven’t read anything that good.

“The Art Of War” by Sun Tzu Review

This book is military strategy book which is based on Chinese warfare and military thought. Since that time, all levels of military have used the teaching on Sun Tzu to warfare and civilization have adapted these teachings for use in politics, business and everyday life.

Its important to say that for some people this book may be out of their comfort zone because it is a military based book which basically tells us how we should lead a military army in the right way. However this book is good to show us how a good leader should behave. No matter if that person is leading an army, a business or just a group projects at work or school.

It is save to say that this book will more or less help you to master some strategist which are mentioned in this book. But for some people this book might be boring or the stuff which are told in this book will not help you out.

The whole book goes around the idea of “The wise warrior and leader avoids battles and wars”. 

Sometimes books about war tactics or war in general might be harsh, boring, confusing, destruction, death and all sad things that are results of a war. However this one is different, I would recommend this book to people who wants to get into the war genre field. Because this book is unique and gives you new ideas as well as linking it to the war tactics theme. 

This book as well gives us an amazing insights to the war tactics field as well as the insights to the ancient Chinese military.

The writing style is amazing, it really sets the vibe to this book which drowse you in even more into this book. After reading this book, I really wish that more war books could have been writing like this one or even similar to this one.

Of course this book is one of the classics which everyone needs to read in their life time. 

You will learn few things while reading this book. You will also become a somehow better leader after reading this book, or must of you.
