“Gerald’s Game” By Stephen King Review

A game. A husband-and-wife game. Gerald’s Game. But this time Jessie didn’t want to play. Lying there, spreadeagled and handcuffed to the bedstead while he’d loomed and drooled over her, she’d felt angry and humiliated. So she’d kicked out hard. Aimed to hit him where it hurt. And now he was dead – a coronary – on the floor. Leaving Jessie alone and helpless in a lakeside holiday cabin. Miles from nowhere. No-one to hear her screams.

In my opinion this books isn’t one of the best Stephen King’s books. Don’t get me wrong, this book is interesting but as a die-hard fan of Stephen King I was expecting something different.

This book had some interesting moments here and there, but for the most part I found myself not caring about it.

After I finished reading this book I started thinking that we could easily delete 40% of this book and it would somehow become better. Because most of this book isn’t that interesting and at times it seems like to drags for far too long.

The most interesting part of this book was the very end. Which really made me gives this book a higher rating than I first wanted to. There was something very satisfying about the ending which really made me happy that I didn’t give up on this book.

The plot in this book is for sure very unique. When I read the summary of this book I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read this book because it seemed so boring and flat to me. But after having read this book I am actually happy that I read it.

The plot contains a married couple going to a secluded house to have a lot of kinky sex, but it doesn’t go far because the husband dies after handcuffing his wife to the bed. Pretty bad timing I would say. But there was something about the whole situation which the wife have gaunt herself in which made me intrigued and made me want to read to the end to see what will happen with her.

The characters in this book are very very good. But this fact doesn’t surprise me because it was written by Stephen King. And that guy is the mastermind of writing incredible character even if the plot isn’t that good.

The writing style here was of course very good, because it was written by Stephen King. For me the writing style made this book better for me. Because it was like Stephen King knew what words to use here to grab my attention.

“Wuthering Heights” By Emily Brontë Review

At the centre of this novel is the passionate love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff – recounted with such emotional intensity that a plain tale of the Yorkshire moors acquires the depth and simplicity of ancient tragedy.

Ive heard a lot of good about this book, so I finally decided to read it. I had no expectations for this book and the book really surprised me because it was good.

The plot it this book is very unique because it is about two characters with bad temperaments. Well what can go wrong there right ? It is for sure very unique and original, which really made me like it more than I should.

The plot in this book is dark and it is more or less pretty fucked up. I personally had hard time trying to find the “romantic” part about this book. There are some very sweet lines here and there in this book but other than that there is no romance in this book.

The characters in this book, were very good and they had so much depth into them. I really liked them even thou I wasn’t the biggest fan of them. But there was a part of me which really related to them in some weird way.

The writing style in this book was very amazing here, the old writing style together with the old English really set a comfortable mood to it. And it was like the author knew exactly what words to use to grab my attention.

However there were couple of things which I didn’t like about this book. One of these things I didn’t like was Heathcliff’s obsession if you will for Catherine. 

This book is full of revenge moves, toxic relationships and misery. But in a way these things was what made me like this book, and grab my attention to the ending.

“How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps” By Ben Shapiro Review

I can’t believe how much I loved this book, this book is incredibly well researched and written. It really blows my mind.

This book talks about a very important subject which of course is the problem of democrats wanting to destroy what America been fighting for over 250 years. And what made America special in the 19 century where huge masses of people were migrating to USA from all over the world.

In this book Ben Shapiro gives us a very good presentation Libertarian and conservative views on America for the past, present and the future. All the reason Ben Shapiro gives us in this book are very good explained and they make a lot of sense. However if you aren’t very politically interested or you don’t know a lot about politics and what was happening for the past couple of years this book might get over your head.

The writing style in this book is very amazing. And it really shows how intelligent and how good of a written Ben Shapiro really is.

This book gives a very on point narrative of what is happening in USA and how the media in the USA is trying to portray the entire country as racist and discriminating for people who are trying to trash all what America stands for and make it a communist country.

This book is very important to read, because is so very well written and even better researched. Because this book takes an academic approach to a lot of very important topics like cancel culture, how the left is trying to change the whole country to fit their agenda and so many other topics.

At the same time this book is very thought provoking and it will for sure make you think about couple of things in this book. Which really make love this book even more. Because it wants you to think for yourself and not force you think like the author does.

“The Beautiful and Damned” By F. Scott Fitzgerald Review

It describes a handsome young man and his beautiful wife, who gradually degenerate into a shopworn middle age while they wait for the young man to inherit a large fortune. Ironically, they finally get it, when there is nothing of them left worth preserving.

I love this book a lot. In my opinion it doesn’t live up to “the great Gatsby” which is my favourite book of all time, but this book is for course one of the best books I’ve read last year.

This book takes place in New York during the “Jazz Age” which I find myself to love more and more to read about. 

The fact that this book is F. Scott Fitzgerald second novel is mind-blowing to me because it feels like it was written by a author with huge experience in writing novels. Which really makes me love this book even more.

The writing style here is amazing, it felt like the author knew exactly what words to use to grab my attention and interested and to not let them go until the very end.

All of the characters in this book are incredible. Because they feel like real human being who were alive during the “Jazz Age” in New York City. All of the characters in this book have huge dept to them and they all have something very unique about them.

The ending in this book was very unexpected but at the same time it was very satisfying because it really gave us what the entire book was building up to. 

This book portrays the “jazz era” very realistically and without restraint and embellishments.

The plot in this book is very sad and depressing. And the fact that the Gloria and Anthony were heavily inspired by the author’s life and his wife, makes it even more brutally sad.

“1:35AM” By Scott Cawthon & Andrea Waggener & Elley Cooper Review

In this volume, horror master Scott Cawthon spins three sinister novella-length stories from different corners of FNAF’s canon. Each story comes complete with accompanying artwork from a fan-favorite game artist to bring the horror to life in a whole new way.

I gotta be honest here and say the further I go into this series the more I don’t like it.

This book has 3 different short stories in it, which happens in the 5 nights at Freddy’s universe.

All of the 3 stories in this book drag for way too long. They all could have been at least 30 pages shorter and it would make them so much better, rather than fill the pages with events with have nothing to do but to torture the readers.

The further I go into this series the more it feels like it is a very poor parody of “are you afraid of the dark?” And “goosebumps” books. 

Most of the stories in this book were focused on adults, however it they really felt like they were children because of the stupid decisions they made.

Ive said it twice before and I’m gonna say again I’m not a fan of the whole 5 nights at Freddy’s universe. And the more I read this book series the more reason I find to not like the universe.

The writing style here is very poor, and it feels like it was written by a child or an author who tries to make children love him / her.

“The Right Side of History: How Reason and Moral Purpose Made the West Great” By Ben Shapiro Review

Human beings have never had it better than we have it now in the West. So why are we on the verge of throwing it all away? In 2016, New York Times bestselling author Ben Shapiro spoke at the University of California–Berkeley. Hundreds of police officers were required to protect his speech. What was so frightening about Shapiro? He came to argue that Western civilization is in the midst of a crisis of purpose and ideas; that we have let grievances replace our sense of community and political expediency limit our individual rights; that we are teaching our kids that their emotions matter more than rational debate; and that the only meaning in life is arbitrary and subjective. 

This book is very interesting and quick to read. I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t pull away from it.

However it wasn’t the best work from Ben Shapiro I need to admit that. 

This book is about .History, religion, American politics, Greek philosophy but it mostly talks about all of these things in the context of Judeo-Christian society and its norms. Which really disappointed me a little bit because I wasn’t expecting something more thought proving from Ben Shapiro. 

The writing style in this book was very good. And it shows how intelligent Ben Shapiro really is. Which really made me give this book some points in credit.

And solely from the writing style you can tell how much time and effort Ben Shapiro put into writing this book.

Some of the philosophical concepts Ben Shapiro makes in this book are difficult to understand at once. So you will need to take some time to truly think about them to understand them.

I need to admit that after reading this book, like I just took an very intense class about Judeo-Christian society. Ive learned something from this book but there were moments while reading this book which really made me bored and tired.

Some of the descriptions in this book gets a little bit lengthy, and it really made me uninterested at times. I feel like the lengthy descriptions should be shorter.

“Persuasion” By Jane Austen Review

Persuasion is Jane Austen’s last completed novel. She began it soon after she had finished Emma, completing it in August 1816. She died, aged 41, in 1817; Persuasion was published in December that year (but dated 1818). Persuasion is linked to Northanger Abbey not only by the fact that the two books were originally bound up in one volume and published together, but also because both stories are set partly in Bath, a fashionable city with which Austen was well acquainted, having lived there from 1801 to 1805.

This book is quite an okay book from Jane Austen. Its not as good as some of her other books. But it is still pretty okay.

This book is short and quick to read. And it is interesting and enjoyable. If you are looking for a book to read which is slow and relaxing to read then this book is your go-to here.

The plot here talks about the main character being in love man who happens to be captain. Which is the plot for every book written by Jane Austen. But her books are cringey as the modern day romance book. Which is the reason why I like Jane Austen so much. But the main character is forced to marry someone else. And when she meets the captain again years later all her feelings for him come to live again.

There was something unique about this book which made me give this book some extra points. This book really became clued to my mind after I finished it. 

The characters here was pretty good, even thou it they weren’t the best character I’ve seen, I still had some good time with them.

The writing style here was pretty good and I love it. Jane Austen was a very good author and you can truly see it in her writing style the most.

“Agnes Grey” By Anne Brontë Review

Having lost the family savings on risky investments, Richard Grey removes himself from family life and suffers a bout of depression. Feeling helpless and frustrated, his youngest daughter, Agnes, applies for a job as a governess to the children of a wealthy, upper-class, English family. Ecstatic at the thought that she has finally gained control and freedom over her own life, Agnes arrives at the Bloomfield mansion armed with confidence and purpose. The cruelty with which the family treat her however, slowly but surely strips the heroine of all dignity and belief in humanity.

To be fully honest here, this book have really surprised me in a good way. Because I wasn’t expecting to like this book because until now most classics I read left me not wanting to pick up another classic book ever again.

This book was very interesting and intriguing. It really hooked me up and I couldn’t stop reading it, because I really wanted to know how it would end. 

And to learn that this book was written from the author’s experience and perspective as a governess really made me like this book even more. 

The plot in this book is very straightforward which means that it is very easy to follow. The plot sets a really comfortable mood to it which I just couldn’t help myself but love. 

The characters in this book are very good, and it was just an pure joy to getting to know every character in this book. Expect of the two kids whom Agnes Grey needed to take off because she work as a governess. 

Every character in this book feels like a real human being and not like a fictional character made in 1847. And every time it happens in a book I just can’t but fall in love with the book.

The writing style in this book was amazing. And simply from the writing style alone I just can’t believe why haven’t read anything by Anne Brontë until now. But now that I read this book I will keep reading her other novels because her writing style really got me hooked.

“Blackout: How Black America Can Make Its Second Escape from the Democrat Plantation” By Candace Owens Review

Weaving in her personal story that brought her from the projects to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, she demonstrates how she overcame her setbacks and challenges despite the cultural expectation that she should embrace a victim mentality.

This book is easily the best book I’ve read in 2023. And I’ve been dying to read it ever since it was released.

This book is very well researched, and it makes absolutely valid and logical points which will make sense to everyone no matter their background, opinions and opinions.

In this book Candace Owens makes amazing and strong points about Black people in America and how the democrats try to put them into categories like “all black people need to vote democrat” and if that doesn’t happen they call them lunatics.

Candace Owens makes also amazing and valid points about how the democrats are trying to spin the card of a healthy government and get it into a communism government which we truly see a lot of for the past years.

All the points Candace Owens makes in this book are very good because they are true and makes a lot of sense the moment you read it and realised that it actually happens to be correct.

The writing style here is incredible. It feels like sitting down with Candace Owens and talking with her rather than reading a book. Which really made me give this book some extra points.

This book was really hard to put down and I read it in one sitting because it was incredible interesting and super enjoyable.

Candace Owens truly shows how intelligent and well spoken she truly is. Which really makes me love her even more. In this book Candace Owens also shows that how sharp and good at point making she truly is.

“The Bat” By Jo Nesbø Review

Inspector Harry Hole of the Oslo Crime Squad is dispatched to Sydney to observe a murder case. Harry is free to offer assistance, but he has firm instructions to stay out of trouble. The victim is a twenty-three year old Norwegian woman who is a minor celebrity back home. Never one to sit on the sidelines, Harry befriends one of the lead detectives, and one of the witnesses, as he is drawn deeper into the case. Together, they discover that this is only the latest in a string of unsolved murders, and the pattern points toward a psychopath working his way across the country. As they circle closer and closer to the killer, Harry begins to fear that no one is safe, least of all those investigating the case.

Ive been wanting to start this series for years now, and I finally did that. And the first book in the Harry Hole series is amazing.

This book is about Harry Hole being send to Sydney to help the police to solve a murder case which turned out to be a serial killer case rather than one singular murder case.

The plot here is very good because we don’t have the idea who the killer is until the last 40 or so pages. And in my opinion makes me give the book some extra points if the identity of the killer is given to us when the main character breaks it down for everyone else in the book.

The main character which of course is Harry Hole, is one of the best main character I ever encountered so far at least. Because you can truly see the depths of his character. Because you get to see that he is a good person but at the same time he is haunted with the demons of his past as he is struggling to solve the case.

And the rest of the characters which we get to know in this book are very good as well. They all have something unique to them and something that makes us like them. Which really shows how good of an author Jo Nesbø really is.

This book has one pretty gruesome scene in the middle of it, when a clown is killed in a very brutal way. Which might trigger some people but for me it only added another layer to this book. Because we truly get to see how gruesome the serial killer who Harry Hole tries to catch really is.

The writing style is very good as well, it is like the author knows what words to use to grab our attention and to not let it go until the end.

The ending here is not so good as the rest of the story, which made me give this book one star less than what I originally wanted to give it. Which really disappointed me in a way.
