“The Return: Nightfall” By L.J. Smith Review

Now that a supernatural force has brought Elena back from the dead, all handsome, brooding Stefan wants is to keep her safe. But when he is lured away from Fell’s Church, sleek, powerful Damon seizes his chance to win Elena over, unaware of the danger they’re both in. A malevolent being has infiltrated the town and is growing stronger. Able to possess Damon at will, the creature is also drawn to Elena and the new power she has acquired. But it’s after more than Elena’s power: It thirsts for her death.

This book is the first book in the “The Vampire Diaries: The Return” series which is a continuation of the first 4 books in this series.

This book take place a day or 2 after the events of book 4 in this series. It took me a more time to finish this book than the previous 4 books in this series. And in my opinion this book is so far the weakest book in The Vampire Diaries book series.

The majority of this book happened to be boring, and only the last 40 pages were very interesting. But the 90% of this book feels like the author trying to fill up the space and have a long book.

The beginning of this book was somehow cute but it could have been interesting but it turned out to be pretty boring with some cute moments here and there. And the middle part of this book was super boring and all I wanted is to skip it but of course I couldn’t.

The characters here become more likeable and more enjoyable. And the characters also become more relatable.

The plot here was very weird and I honestly needed to think about for couple of days before I’ve began writing this review. The plot here was super weird and very random which really surprised me because I wasn’t expecting it. But this in a way got me more interested to continue to read this series which I will do.

The writing style here was very easy as in the previous books. And it really made a good mix with the easy and strange plot.

To be fully honest this book felt more like a fan fiction than a continuation of the first 4 books in this series.

This book didn’t end at a cliffhanger it rather felt like it was a happy ending to the series. But of course it isn’t since there are more books in this series. Which really made me disappoint because it really doesn’t give us a reason to continue to read the series.

I Give This Book 2 / 5

“The Fury / Dark Reunion” By L.J. Smith Review

Elena: transformed, the golden girl has become what she once feared and desired. Stefan: tormented by losing Elena, he’s determined to end his feud with Damon once and for all – whatever the cost. But slowly he begins to realize that his brother is not his only enemy. Damon: at last, he possesses Elena. But will his thirst for revenge against Stefan poison his triumph? Or can they come together to face one final battle? Collected here in one edition are the third and fourth volumes of The Vampire Diaries, a riveting conclusion to the tale of two vampire brothers and the beautiful girl torn between them.

This book contains the third and the fourth book in the “Vampire Diaries” series. Both of them I’ve already reviewed.

The third book was good but the fourth was really the shinning star here.

I found myself enjoying the first and second book. And they kept me wanting to continue reading this series.

The book series is much different than the TV show. But I don’t mind that because somehow I like the book series better but I still picture every character as the actor who played the character in the tv show.

The plot here in both books is YA style but I found myself enjoying it much more than I’ve expected.  The plot first and second book doesn’t take a lot of brain power. However the word “Vampire” wasn’t even once said in the first or the second book. Maybe in the third book it will happen.

The writing style in both books is very simple and easy just as the plot. And they play very good along in a way.

“The Awakening / The Struggle” By L.J. Smith Review

A DEADLY LOVE TRIANGLE Elena: the golden girl, the leader, the one who can have any boy she wants. Stefan: brooding and mysterious, he seems to be the only one who can resist Elena, even as he struggles to protect her from the horrors that haunt his past. Damon: sexy, dangerous, and driven by an urge for revenge against Stefan, the brother who betrayed him. Determined to have Elena, he’d kill to possess her. Collected here in one volume for the first time, volumes one and two of The Vampire Diaries, the tale of two vampire brothers and the beautiful girl torn between them.

This book contains the first and the second book in the “Vampire Diaries” series. Both of them I’ve already reviewed.

I found myself enjoying the first and second book. And they kept me wanting to continue reading this series. I enjoyed the second more than the first book maybe because we get much more vampire content.

“Lady Susan” By Jane Austen Review

Beautiful, flirtatious, and recently widowed, Lady Susan Vernon seeks an advantageous second marriage for herself, while attempting to push her daughter into a dismal match. A magnificently crafted novel of Regency manners and mores that will delight Austen enthusiasts with its wit and elegant expression.

I need to be honest and say that I’m not a Jane Austen fan, of course I thought that this book is okay but nothing more than that.

This book is a mix between historical fiction and romance. I was a fan of the historical fiction part in this book but the old time romances aren’t for me because 100% of the time I just hate them.

The plot here was okay for the most part. The historical fiction part of this book was super interesting but the romance part had dragged it down a lot for me personally.

The main character here which of course is Lady Susan is a manipulative, hypocritical, a liar and sort of a bitch. But overall Ive liked here for some strange reason, because in real life I would hate her. The rest of the characters in this book were okay for the most part. There were some characters in this book which I didn’t like but for the most part I liked the majority of the characters in this book.

To be fully honest this book feels unfinished in a way. And it lacks bit of polish to it in my opinion.

This book also contains a lot of letters send between the characters in this book, and they all contains the events and action happening in Lady Susan’s life.

“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” By Jenny Han Review

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed.  But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh.  As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

I gotta say that this book really surprised me a lot because I tend to not like very much romantic YA books but I loved this one.

This book is very easy, original and very easy to read. Which really made me love this book even more than what I’ve already did.

The only think that annoyed me in this book is the drama between Lara Jean and her sister’s ex. I know that Lara jean loved the guy before her sister but still it didn’t sit well with me.

I read this book in one day, which really proves how much this book sucked me into it.

The writing style here was very simple and easy. Which really was an amazing mix with the plot.

The characters here are very typical high schoolers with a lot of drama and school drama. But the main characters are somehow enjoyable and in the end I came to like and enjoy them.

The plot in this book is very juicy and very sweet. Of course there are drama but very low which in this book I didn’t mind.

This book wasn’t as emotional as some people on the internet claim it to be in my opinion. It was just a love story between two high schoolers.

The love story in this book, is very unique and I loved it because it wasn’t generic as most romance and ya books tend to be.

This book focus a lot about the importance of family and friends which I really loved about this book, because it wasn’t just about dating the most popular guy at high school.

“Vector Prime” By R.A. Salvatore Review

Twenty-one years have passed since the heroes of the Rebel Alliance destroyed the Death Star, breaking the power of the Emperor. Since then, the New Republic has valiantly struggled to maintain peace and prosperity among the peoples of the galaxy. But unrest has begun to spread and threatens to destroy the Republic’s tenuous reign. Into this volatile atmosphere comes Nom Anor, a charismatic firebrand who heats passions to the boiling point, sowing seeds of dissent for his own dark motives. And as the Jedi and the Republic focus on internal struggles, a new threat surfaces from beyond the farthest reaches of the Outer Rim–an enemy bearing weapons and technology unlike anything New Republic scientists have ever seen.

I need to say that this book is by far the best star wars book I’ve read so far.

Action here is amazing. But I wish that this book talk about some specific actions which it went too quickly over. The action here takes place over 20 years after the Battle of Endor. And the follows the OG characters from star wars universe which are of course Han Solo, Leia, Luke and Chewbacca. But we also gets characters who weren’t seen in the movies or series but people who have read books new Jedi order series then they should be very familiar with them.

Characters here are amazing, because we get to learn more and follow the OG characters which I mentioned above. But also we get new character which I wish we could see in movies or series from the Star Wars universe. Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin which are the children of Leia and Han are very similar to both of them but also they are amazing to read about because in a way it brings back the nostalgia of watching young Luke, Leia and Han in the original trilogy.

All of the characters in this book have something to them which makes me love them. All of the characters have something very unique to them which males them different from the other characters and which makes them super easy to like them.

We as well get a new fun but also horrific new villain. And we see the struggle which the heroes have to face in this book.

The writing style here is very good, there were some moments which it went down hill but I still enjoyed it a lot.

There were some parts in this book which I personally found boring, and that’s explains why I gave it 4 stars instead of the full score of 5 stars.

“The Last Olympian” By Rick Riordan Review

All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos’s army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan’s power only grows. While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it’s up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Tim

This book might be the best book in this wholes series in my opinion because it felt somehow different than the previous books in this series.

I continue to not be the biggest fan of the characters I was in the first 4 books in this series. Because there something in them which doesn’t seem right to me. Of course the characters are very good in this series but I just me being very picky.

My main problem with the characters in this series is that there isn’t character development. They are exactly the same as they were in the beginning of book one.

Of course we get introduced more new characters in this book but it feels like we get the new characters introduced just to forgot about them in the next chapters and for them to never come back again in this series.

When it comes to descriptions there could have been longer and more detailed in my opinion at least.

The writing style here was amazing. To be honest it was probably my favourite thing about this book. In a strange way it made me like this book much more. The writing style in this book must have been the best writing style in this whole series.

This book have the same problems as the previous books in this series. And the problem is that the action is very slow at the beginning and at the end. And the middle is just confusing because all action is put into 100 pages or less.

So far in this series I feel like there are the same things happening. And that there are the same mistakes made by the main characters which really made me want to bang my head against a tree.

“The Battle of the Labyrinth” By Rick Riordan Review

Percy Jackson isn’t expecting freshman orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears at his potential new school, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickly move from bad to worse. In this fourth installment of the blockbuster series, time is running out as war between the Olympians and the evil Titan lord Kronos draws near. Even the safe haven of Camp Half-Blood grows more vulnerable by the minute as Kronos’s army prepares to invade its once impenetrable borders. To stop the invasion, Percy and his demigod friends must set out on a quest through the Labyrinth – a sprawling underground world with stunning surprises at every turn.

I continue to not be the biggest fan of the characters I was in the first 3 books in this series. Because there something in them which doesn’t seem right to me. Of course the characters are very good in this series but I just me being very picky.

My main problem with the characters in this series is that there isn’t character development. They are exactly the same as they were in the beginning of book one.

This book repeats the same things as the previous 3 books have told us thousands of times which really annoyed me. Because I hate reading or hearing the same thing over and over again day in and day out.

When it comes to descriptions there could have been longer and more detailed in my opinion at least.

This book have the same problems as the previous books in this series. And the problem is that the action is very slow at the beginning and at the end. And the middle is just confusing because all action is put into 100 pages or less.

Of course we get introduced more new characters in this book but it feels like we get the new characters introduced just to forgot about them in the next chapters and for them to never come back again in this series.

In my opinion this series would done better if it was a trilogy rather than a 5 book series.

For me personally this book was boring with some very few moments went the action started to get interesting but almost imminently went down.

The writing style here was okay. To be honest it was probably my favourite thing about this book. In a strange way it made me like this book much more.

So far in this series I feel like there are the same things happening. And that there are the same mistakes made by the main characters which really made me want to bang my head against a tree.

“American Psycho” By Bret Easton Ellis Review

Patrick Bateman is twenty-six and he works on Wall Street, he is handsome, sophisticated, charming and intelligent. He is also a psychopath. Taking us to head-on collision with America’s greatest dream—and its worst nightmare—American Psycho is bleak, bitter, black comedy about a world we all recognise but do not wish to confront

I need to confess that this book might be the greatest thriller book ever written.

This book is very dark and perhaps controversial to some people. But it is also very interesting, enjoyable and a page turner.

Patrick Bateman is an amazing main character, due to his delusions and the complexity of his character. But he also represents in a way what a lot of people became in modern times which more or less are slaves to materialism. But having a psychopath as a main character is really satisfying.

The plot here is wow. It’s very unique, engaging, interesting and it keeps you interested from the first page to the last. The plot gets very dark at times, and the fact that we can’t distinct if its reality of just delusions to Patrick Bateman keeps you question a lot but in a very interesting way.

The writing style here is incredible, it felt like the author knew exactly what words to use to get you engaged in the plot and keep you reading this book until the end. The writing style in this book is brutal at times due to the way some moments are described which makes it even better and interesting.

This book is very violent and brutal at times but I suppose that’s what you get from a book where the main character is a psychopath who puts the perfect smile in-front of everyone. And it will for sure stick with you for a long time after finishing it.

In this book we also get a lot of essays of shorts from the main character about the 80s music, movies and famous brands.

Patrick Bateman is a psychopath and this book is from his point of view but he only shows us in this book what he wants to show us. Which makes his point of view very unreliable. And in this book the unreliable narrator is the best thing which could happen to this book. Because it makes you question if it really happened or not.

“The Titan’s Curse” By Rick Riordan Review

It’s not everyday you find yourself in combat with a half-lion, half-human. But when you’re the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster. Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive.

I’m still not aboard with this series even after being half way through this series. To be honest I am not the biggest fan of greek mythology so there are couple of things which annoys me or which I find confusing and boring.

I continue to not be the biggest fan of the characters I was in the first 2 books in this series. Because there something in them which doesn’t seem right to me. Of course the characters are very good in this series but I just me being very picky.

My main problem with the characters in this series is that there isn’t character development. They are exactly the same as they were in the beginning of book one.

This book had an small improvement in action from the previous 2 books. The action in this book is more interesting and enjoyable but there are still something missing in my opinion.

So far in this series I feel like there are the same things happening. And that there are the same mistakes made by the main characters which really made me want to bang my head against a tree.

Of course we get introduced more new characters in this book but it feels like we get the new characters introduced just to forgot about them in the next chapters and for them to never come back again in this series.

When it comes to descriptions there could have been longer and more detailed in my opinion at least.

The plot here was very slow at the beginning and at the end. And the middle part in this book was too fast for me to fully enjoy it. For me personally it was too fast and I couldn’t keep my mind around everything which was happening. The previous 2 books in this series have the same problem.

The writing style here was okay. To be honest it was probably my favourite thing about this book. In a strange way it made me like this book much more.
