“Mansfield Park” By Jane Austen Review

Taken from the poverty of her parents’ home in Portsmouth, Fanny Price is brought up with her rich cousins at Mansfield Park, acutely aware of her humble rank and with her cousin Edmund as her sole ally. During her uncle’s absence in Antigua, the Crawford’s arrive in the neighbourhood bringing with them the glamour of London life and a reckless taste for flirtation. Mansfield Park is considered Jane Austen’s first mature work and, with its quiet heroine and subtle examination of social position and moral integrity, one of her most profound.

In my opinion this book gotta be the best book written by Jane Austen so far. Of course I didn’t read all of her works yet.

The plot here is super interesting, fun, enjoyable and overall super amazing. I read this book in one day because I couldn’t pull myself away from the plot and this book because I was so engaged in this book which really surprised me a lot. 

The writing style here was amazing, Jane Austen truly showed that she is one of the best authors of the past. After reading this book I truly understand the full hype with Jane Austen and her works. 

The characters here were super amazing. I would love to meet them if it was possible. I really loved all of the characters in this book. Because all of the characters had something unique to them which made them different from the rest of the character. Which I personally love when it happens.

“The Wide Window” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, If you have not read anything about the Baudelaire orphans, then before you read even one more sentence, you should know this: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are kindhearted and quick-witted; but their lives, I am sorry to say, are filled with bad luck and misery. All of the stories about these three children are unhappy and wretched, and this one may be the worst of them all. If you haven’t got the stomach for a story that includes a hurricane, a signalling device, hungry leeches, cold cucumber soup, a horrible villain, and a doll named Pretty Penny, then this book will probably fill you with despair. I will continue to record these tragic tales, for that is what I do. You, however, should decide for yourself whether you can possibly endure this miserable story.

This book is the third book in the “A Series of Unfortunate events”. And I gotta say that I continue to love this series.

The plot in this book is amazing. It’s interesting, enjoyable and sad at the same time. Violet, Klaus and Sunny are still followed by Count Olaf. And Count Olaf have more schemes to do.

The characters here are getting better than they were in the first book. Violet, Klaus and Sunny are so much better than they were in the first book. You can truly see the character development happening.

When it comes to Count Olaf, his schemes are getting better. Which at the same time is very good but also you make sad for the main characters. 

However I wish we could see more from the weirdos in Count Olaf’s trop. Because I would love to learn more about the set of weird characters from his trop.

This book is as gloomy, eerie and dark as the first and second book in this series. Which really makes me love to continue this series because it continues to have the same eerie and dark vibe which the first book in this series had.

The writing style is amazing just as in the previous books in this series. If I dare to say, the writing style is even better than in the first book.

However I wish that this book just as in this series, did make it obvious that Count Olaf will turn up at some point. It would have been so better if Count Olaf just showed up suddenly.

“Thinner” By Stephen King Review

Billy Halleck, good husband and loving father, is both beneficiary and victim of the American good life: He has an expensive home, a nice family, and a rewarding career as a lawyer but he is also fifty pounds overweight and edging into heart attack country.

To be honest this book doesn’t feel like a Stephen King book maybe because Stephen King tried to write it as Richard Bachman. This book is a fiction book and not a typical Stephen King horror book. 

This book is very quick to read due to its size. But it is still enjoyable and interesting. If you are a hardcore Stephen King fan like me you all find his book a little bit unusual because as I’ve said before it doesn’t seem like a typical Stephen King book. 

The characters in this book are okay but there were something missing and they just didn’t work for me. Because they didn’t have the depth which most characters in Stephen King’s books have. There are very few characters in this book and for the most part there are good characters but none of them aren’t super memorable. 

The plot here was okay for the most part but still it wasn’t on the level with some other Stephen King level when you compare it with the books he had written under his  real name. 

The premise of the plot was interesting but the way it was presented to us was some how boring in a way.

“The Reptile Room” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, If you have picked up this book with the hope of finding a simple and cheery tale, I’m afraid you have picked up the wrong book altogether. The story may seem cheery at first, when the Baudelaire children spend time in the company of some interesting reptiles and a giddy uncle, but don’t be fooled. If you know anything at all about the unlucky Baudelaire children, you already know that even pleasant events lead down the same road to misery.

This book is just as amazing as the first book in this series. 

This book is very short just as the first book, and I personally read it in one sitting and I loved every second of it as I did with the first book. And a part of me didn’t want this book to end because I’ve enjoyed it so much.

Before starting reading this book I had a fear that the series will go down in quality but the opposite happened. Because tis book is even better than the first book in this series which really made me love this series so much more.

The plot in this book is even better and more amazing than in the first book. There is more sadness and unfortunate events in this book. But there is also more schemes from Count Olaf which makes it more fun but at the same time more sad.

The character here are amazing. Violent, Klaus and Sunny are still the amazing characters as they were in the first book. Count Olaf is still up to his schemes. And we get a new character in this book which is Dr. Montgomery Montgomery which is a distant relative to Violent, Klaus and Sunny.

Dr. Montgomery Montgomery is the perfect guardian to the children but of course there is tragedy. Which is very sad, because after the kids receiving some happiness while living with Dr. Montgomery Montgomery, Count Olaf shows up and tragedy tricks the kids.

The writing style here is amazing. Because is easy and simple which means that it can be read by both children and adults. 

This series so far is very interesting, enjoyable and sad. And it doesn’t fail to capture your full attention and keep you reading until the last page.

“Pride and Prejudice” By Jane Austen Review

Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work “her own darling child” and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, “as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print.” The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring. And Jane Austen’s radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England.

I gotta say that this book was okay. I didn’t have a lot of expectations for this book but it still disappointed me in a way because I wanted to like much more this book than I’ve did after reading it. 

The plot here is again too much about romance in a way, which I personally aren’t the biggest fan of. But if we look away from the romances in this book than I found myself enjoying the plot in this book a lot and I found it to be interesting and enjoyable read overall. 

This book is mostly a character study of 19th century England and of its societies, courtships etc. I am a big fan of that part of this book because I found it super interesting. 

The characters here was likeable, and I liked them a lot. There were couple of times were I was annoyed with the characters but still I’ve liked them. The moment were one of the female characters rejected a man’s proposal but then she found out that he is rich and he instantly changed her mind made me literally throw the book across the room. Talking about an 19th century gold digger. 

There were couple of moments in this book which were really boring and I wanted to DNF this book. But I struggled through them and I found myself with positive feedback for this book. Of course  not all polite as you might have seen above but still I gave it a high rating.

“The Bad Beginning” By Lemony Snicket Review

Dear Reader, I’m sorry to say that the book you are holding in your hands is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about three very unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when the children are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune.

I finally found the best series to read if you are looking for a series with no happy ending and where there is a lot of things happening but all of these things which take place aren’t good.

The plot here is very interesting, enjoyable and it really is good at fully grading your attention and focus and not letting you until you finish the book.

This book is very short, and I personally read it in one sitting and I loved every second of it. And a part of me didn’t want this book to end because I’ve enjoyed it so much.

If you watched the series on Netflix with Neil Patrick Harris, then you must read this book since its even netter than the Netflix series. 

The plot in this book is where the parents to Violet, Klaus and Sunny die in a house fire and leave their 3 children as orphans with big fortune belonging to their dead parents. After the parents die, the children get involved in a spiral of sad, tragic and unfortunate events.

The plot here is simple which means that children can read it to as well as adults. However if you read it as an adult you will find it eerie at times and you will notice more details than the younger readers.

The characters here are very good, because they feel like they are real human beings. And they have something unique to them which makes them very easy to tell apart and to fully adore. 

Count Olaf is very evil and is fully of evil schemes to get his hands on the kids’s fortune. There is something very uneasy about him due to his actions and mistreating the main characters who are children and his focus being solely about their money. 

The writing style here is amazing. Because is easy and simple which means that it can be read by both children and adults. 

I really wish that I’ve read this book as a child because after reading this book I found what was missing in my childhood. And it is of course this book.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid; Old School” By Jeff Kinney Review

Life was better in the old days. Or was it? That’s the question Greg Heffley is asking as his town voluntarily unplugs and goes electronics-free. But modern life has its conveniences, and Greg isn’t cut out for an old-fashioned world.With tension building inside and outside the Heffley home, will Greg find a way to survive? Or is going “old school” just too hard for a kid like Greg?

This book is the 10th book in the “diary of a wimpy kid” series. And to be honest I haven’t gotten to this book before so this time around it was my first read of this book. 

I need to say that this book must be the best book in this series so far (for me). 

The whole plot of this book is that Greg goes for a car ride with his grandfather in his father car and the car ends up in a ditch. So because of this Greg decided to go to a school camping trip with his class.

To be honest I really liked this book because it showed me that I would be the same as Greg on a camping trip. Because I have no knowledge of surviving in the woods for a longer than a couple of hours.

Greg isn’t learning anything after getting into trouble, book after book. And he just continues to blame other people for being an idiot himself.

Of course Greg is 12 years old but still he shouldn’t blame everyone else but himself for his stupid plans and getting into trouble. 

Another problem with this series so far at least is his parents are really bad at parenting. Because they threat Manny (Greg’s younger brother) as a god and they just end up not caring what Greg and Rodrick are doing most of the time. They only get reminded of Greg and Rodrick when they get in trouble at school or with other kid’s parents.

This book wasn’t as funny as the 4 previous books because most of the moments were pathetic.

This book has around 220 pages (depending on which edition you get) and there is at least one illustration on each page which means that this book is really quick to read. And it can be fully read in one hour or so.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid; Hard Luck” By Jeff Kinney Review

Greg Heffley’s on a losing streak. His best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has ditched him, and finding new friends in middle school is proving to be a tough task. To change his fortunes, Greg decides to take a leap of faith and turn his decisions over to chance. Will a roll of the dice turn things around, or is Greg’s life destined to be just another hard-luck story?

This book is the 8th book in the “Diary of a wimpy kid” series. And so far I continue to be disappointed in this series.

The entire plot in this book is that Greg is being followed by a dark cloud. It seems like his bad luck can get any worse until it does. 

Greg and Rowley had a big argument over something stupid. So in this book they are almost enemies and because of this Greg is trying to find some new friends and it much harder to do than said.

Greg isn’t learning anything after getting into trouble, book after book. And he just continues to blame other people for being an idiot himself.

Of course Greg is 12 years old but still he shouldn’t blame everyone else but himself for his stupid plans and getting into trouble.

Love is in the air – but what does that mean for Greg Heffley? A Valentine’s Day dance at Greg’s middle school has turned his world upside down. As Greg scrambles to find a date, he’s worried he’ll be left out in the cold on the big night. His best friend, Rowley, doesn’t have any prospects either, but that’s a small consolation. An unexpected twist gives Greg a partner for the dance and leaves Rowley the odd man out. But a lot can happen in one night, and in the end, you never know who’s going to be lucky in love.

This book is the 7th book in the “Diary of a wimpy kid” series. And so far no I can’t find the joy in this series which I had while I was a kid reading this series.

The plot here is all about Greg trying to find a date for the Valentine’s day school dance. And I need to say that his attempts to find a date for the dance gave a throw back to how much I hated middle school and how pathetic most kids at the age of 12 are.

Greg isn’t learning anything after getting into trouble, book after book. And he just continues to blame other people for being an idiot himself.

Greg Heffley has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is getting older really all it’s cracked up to be? Greg suddenly finds himself dealing with the pressures of boy-girl parties, increased responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come with getting older—all without his best friend, Rowley, at his side. Can Greg make it through on his own? Or will he have to face the “ugly truth”?

This book is the 5th book in the “Diary of a wimpy kid” series. And so far this series isn’t getting better
