“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” By Newt Scamander / J.K. Rowling Review

A copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them resides on almost every wizarding household in the country. Now, for a limited period only, Muggles too have the chance to discover where the Quintaped lives, what the Puffskein eats, and why it is best not to leave milk out for a Knarl. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to improving and saving the lives of children around the world, which means that the dollars and Galleons you exchange for it will do magic beyond the powers of any wizard. If you feel that this is insufficient reason to part with your money, I can only hope most sincerel that passing wizards feel more charitable if they ever see you being attacked by a Manticore.

Yet again another amazing book from the Wizarding World, to be honest here I wanted to read this book ever since I’ve read the entire Harry Potter series.

This book is an awesome bonus book for fans of the Wizarding World because it gives us an amazing insight of all the amazing creatures from the Wizarding World which will make the entire universe bigger and will give you more knowledge about all the animals.

The entire in this book was brilliant but the rest of this book was less fun but it still was amazing. To be fully honest here this book would be much better if we got illustration of every creature which this book talked about rather than just some of the animals which made me a little bit disappointed in this book.

But this book needs to get points for being simple but still very fun and enjoyable no matter if you are an adult, teenager or a child you will still have amazing time reading this book.

The writing style here was simple but still very good. Of course it wasn’t on the level with the Harry Potter books but the writing style in this book was still amazing.

This book felt like it was written by no other than Newt Scamander because it felt so personal to the character and we really could feel the love which Newt Scamander had towards all animals.

Every animal came with descriptions of their good and bad side but also what you should keep in mind when you dealing with each animal.

Reading this book felt like you were in Hogwarts and you were getting a very interesting lesson about each of the animals in the Wizarding World rather than reading a book.

I Give This Book 4 / 5

“Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” By Robert Louis Stevenson Review

Robert Louis Stevenson’s masterpiece of the duality of good and evil in man’s nature sprang from the darkest recesses of his own unconscious—during a nightmare from which his wife awakened him, alerted by his screams. More than a hundred years later, this tale of the mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll and the drug that unleashes his evil, inner persona—the loathsome, twisted Mr. Hyde—has lost none of its ability to shock. Its realistic police-style narrative chillingly relates Jekyll’s desperation as Hyde gains control of his soul—and gives voice to our own fears of the violence and evil within us. Written before Freud’s naming of the ego and the id, Stevenson’s enduring classic demonstrates a remarkable understanding of the personality’s inner conflicts—and remains the irresistibly terrifying stuff of our worst nightmares.

I was very impressed by this book. Because I’ve expected to not like it like most classics but in fact this book is one of the best classic books I’ve read so far.

The plot in this book is a horror book but much rather a thriller / mystery book. Of course there are some murders in this book. But most of the book is about finding the mystery of Mr. Hyde and who he is. The plot itself pretty much reminds me of old timey schizophrenia, but it was super fun to read this book and see what will happen next.

The characters here are good. Of course there are some characters who I didn’t like but the main character Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde very truly amazing and I loved them which I gave this book some extra points for.

There isn’t so much action here but there is a lot of wondering and mystery which I personally enjoy when it happens.

The action taken place in old London, which is an amazing setting for any thriller or horror book or movie in my opinion.

The beginning of this books is a police investigation which it intrigued me personally and it really was an amazing start to this book in my personally opinion.

Dr. Jekyll is the good one here and Mr. Hyde is the evil one. And it pretty much shows the good versus the evil.

The writing style here was amazing, it felt like going back in time and watching this all happen rather reading this book.

The end in this book is just as amazing as the beginning in my opinion. Because the ending includes psychological and philosophical apotheosis with Doctor Jekyll’s journal which explains how it all happened and how doctor Jekyll went to being mr. Hyde.

“Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman” By Alan Rickman Review

From his breakout role in Die Hard to his outstanding, multifaceted performances in the Harry Potter films, Galaxy Quest, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and more, Alan Rickman cemented his legacy as a world-class actor. His air of dignity, his sonorous voice, and the knowing wit he brought to each role continue to captivate audiences today. But Rickman’s ability to breathe life into projects wasn’t confined to just his performances. As you’ll find, Rickman’s diaries detail the extraordinary and the ordinary, flitting between worldly and witty and gossipy, while remaining utterly candid throughout. He takes us inside his home, on trips with friends across the globe, and on the sets of films and plays ranging from Sense and Sensibility, to Noël Coward’s Private Lives, to the final film he directed, A Little Chaos.

This book took me awhile to finish but I finally finished it.

I enjoyed this book a lot but at the same time I feel like this book shouldn’t have been published. Because this book is of all the diaries Alan Rickman had throughout the years. All his thoughts and choppy notes were for himself and he makes some few brutal comments about things and some actors.

Reading this book felt like taking a look at Alan Rickman’s mind throughout the years and during his cancer battle and years.

It was amazing to learn what he truly thought about some of his acting projects as Harry Potter movies and Die Hard.

This book and the diaries in this book gives us an amazing look into a very talented mind and his opinions.

Overall this book was super interesting and enjoyable.

“Quidditch Through the Ages” By Kennilworthy Whisp / J.K. Rowling Review

If you have ever asked yourself where the Golden Snitch came from, how the Bludgers came into existence, or why the Wigtown Wanderers have pictures of meat cleavers on their robes, you need QUIDDITCH THROUGH THE AGES. This invaluable volume is consulted by young Quidditch fans on an almost daily basis.

To be fully honest with you here I think that this book was the weakest book in the written in the Wizarding world yet. But of course it comes from somehow who isn’t a fan of Quidditch. But if you are a fan of Quidditch you will pretty much enjoy it much more than I did.

This book gives us the history of Quidditch and how it changed throughout the time and how things were added to it. Which really brings much more dept to the Wizarding World.

Overall this book was a fun, enjoyable and interesting read but still when you compare this book to other books in this series you will notice that this book is the weakest book in this series.

There were a lot of effort put by J.K. Rowling to make this book funny which wasn’t funny because it was way too forced to actually be funny.

The writing style was okay. You can easily tell that this book was meant for children which is still fine for me.

“Into the Water” By Paula Hawkins Review

A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged.Left behind is a lonely fifteen-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother’s sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from—a place to which she vowed she’d never return.

This was my first ever book written by Paula Hawkins and I gotta say that I was very disappointed because I have had heard so much good about this book which this didn’t book didn’t live up to for me.

The plot was very confusing and very boring. There are many POVs in this book which really annoyed me personally and at times I just couldn’t keep up with the plot. There are too many characters and to many switching of POVs was really made me want to DNF this book. The plot was on the edge of having a good mystery in it but every time the plot was starting to get even slightly exciting it was just killed off straight away. Which really made me personally very angry because I really wanted to like this book.

In general the plot in this book was all over the place and the ending really didn’t bring the big revel but rather an DNF from me when I was just 8 pages away from the end.

The writing style was bad but of course there were parts where the writing style was okay but come on I need more than that to like it.

I Give This Book 1 / 5

“The Great Gatsby” By F. Scott Fitzgerald Review

Young, handsome and fabulously rich, Jay Gatsby is the bright star of the Jazz Age, but as writer Nick Carraway is drawn into the decadent orbit of his Long Island mansion, where the party never seems to end, he finds himself faced by the mystery of Gatsby’s origins and desires. Beneath the shimmering surface of his life, Gatsby is hiding a secret: a silent longing that can never be fulfilled. And soon, this destructive obsession will force his world to unravel.

This is an amazing book but very overrated in my opinion. Because it yes it is good but not as good as people on the internet claim it to be.

This book is in a way a tragic book about a love story without an happy ending which is most perfect love story which could possible exist.

The love story in this book is complete flawless which really made this book so much better for me personally.

This book is one of these unique books which you can read several times, never get bored of it but also with each time you read it you notice something new. Which really shows in my opinion how good this book is.

The plot here is amazing here but I still had every once and a while hard time with fully connecting with the story. It might have something to do with a lot of action happening in a very short time. The plot however was very unique because I never come across a plot which was never slightly similar to this one yet of course.

The writing style here was very old timey but it fitted very well with the plot and how  the plot was presented to us. The writing style really felt like we were in the story like a third person in the round rather than reading about it.

The characters here were very good, they felt like real people who lived back in the day and I really liked every character presented in this book. Jay Gatsby felt like the classic best friend neighbour who later turns out to be a drug dealer or mob leader. But hey that’s what it made me like this book so much.

After reading this book Jay Gatsby became one of my top 10 favourite fictional characters because there is something mysterious to him but also something of a hopeless romantic in a way.

“Grzesznik” By Artur Urbanowicz Review

Without waiting for further developments, he and his faithful people decide to face him once and for all. The settlements end tragically – Marek falls down the stairs and suffers a strong concussion. When he regains consciousness after a week’s coma, it turns out that his group has been shattered and all the money earned through years of criminal activity is gone. He confronts Dry with a choice – he will either give in, or he will be taken from everything he has ever enjoyed. To make matters worse, Mark’s terrifying new abilities are revealed shortly after the accident

Another amazing book from the polish author Artur Urbanowicz. This was my third book written by Artur Urbanowicz and so far it was probably my second favourite but also it makes me realise that Artur Urbanowicz is criminal underrated.

After reading this book I need to say that Artur Urbanowicz have surprised me with this book in a good way of course. Because it really felt like a masterpiece.

The description of this book is very misleading I need to say after reading this book because it really have taken a entire new turn after like 2/3 part of this book. Because this book started with a typical mob leader theme but then after like the 2 / 3 this book have taken an entire new turn to a different theme which I can’t revile because it will classify as a spoiler.

The plot of this book was very interesting and super enjoyable because it sort of was a typical mob plot but then it started to take more and more different turn which I really enjoyed.

The writing style was amazing. The writing style felt like it was written by Stephen King and not like an author who only have written like 5 full books at this point. What Im trying to say is that it feels like it was written by someone who have bigger experience rather than just 5 books.

The ending have had an okay twist there, of course it could have been better but I can’t complain because it was good enough. But the really the ending made me give this book 1 star less than I intended to give it originally. Because it sort of killed of the eerie mood which this book was building up since the beginning which really disappointed me.

“Tales of Norse Mythology” By Hélène A. Guerber Review

Scandinavians of the Viking Age explored the mysteries of life through their sagas. Folklorist Helene Adeline Guerber brings to life the gods and goddesses, giants and dwarves, and warriors and monsters of these stories in Tales of Norse Mythology. Ranging from the comic to the tragic, these leghends tell of passion, love, friendship, pride, courage, strength, loyalty, and betrayal.

This book have fucked up couple of names when it comes to the norse mythology, I know this since Ive been interested in the norse mythology for years now and I’ve read a lot about it by now.

You have to know that if you want to get into norse mythology then this book isn’t the choice here. Of course this book has these amazing stories from the norse mythology but this book is very dry and it might make you hate norse mythology before you give it a good shot.

To be full honest with you this book doesn’t tell us the stories of the norse mythology but rather just reports them to us which really made be so uninterested at times and so bored of this book.

However this book needs to get points for giving us a good idea about the personality and the look of the major gods and goddesses in the the norse mythology which I really liked.

The writing style here was very okay for the most part but to be fully honest here with you the writing style in this book was a roller coster ride because it had many good moments but it also had many bad moments.

For the most part this book had a very simplistic overview of the gods which really annoyed me at times.

I Give This Book 3 / 5

“Dune” By Frank Herbert Review

Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, heir to a noble family tasked with ruling an inhospitable world where the only thing of value is the “spice” melange, a drug capable of extending life and enhancing consciousness. Coveted across the known universe, melange is a prize worth killing for.

Ive heard so much good about this book which it didn’t live up to which really had disappointed me because I really wanted to like this one as well.

I need to be honest that I was bored the entire time I spend reading this book which really made it to a torture. Of course there have been many good moments in this book which made me slightly interested but these moments came very going to an end every time they showed up.

In my opinion there were too many descriptions in this book which really made it even more boring for me. But also the most annoying thing with this book for me was he way Paul’s mom describing him because it was super weird and somehow uncomfortable at times.

This book feels horribly outdated when you read this book for the first time in 2020s as I did. This book was also at times almost incomprehensible.  The reason why I say that this book is outdated is because it is prim and  the scientific dialogue in this book are so heavy that makes you realise very quick that no one would ever actually speak like that now.

The reason why I give this book 2 stars and not 1 star is because that this book is the foundation for the modern science fiction in a way.

The beginning of this book was very good but the further we went into this book the worse it got and it ended up that I just DNF-ed this book when I was 68 pages from the end because I just couldn’t do it anymore.

The writing style here was very old and you can clearly see that it was written over 50 years ago to say at least

I Give This Book 2 / 5

“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” By Suzanne Collins Review

Ambition will fuel him. Competition will drive him. But power has its price. It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the tenth annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to outcharm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute.

This book is probably best typical YA book I’ve read in 2022. And it is easily the best book in the Hunger Games series. It is as well about the most interesting character in this whole series which of course is Coriolanus Snow I personally always liked him from the first time he was introduced to us in the original trilogy.

The beginning of this book was pretty boring because it was mostly about somehow rich kid and his struggles but the more this book kept going the more I’ve personally enjoyed this book.

I needed to be honest here with you and say that this book didn’t feel like it go in too deep on how President Snow became the corrupt person he was in original Hunger Games trilogy but it defiantly it was the beginning on how and why he was the person he was in the original Hunger Games Trilogy which I pretty much enjoyed.

The plot was super interesting, enjoyable and it really sucked me into it and I just couldn’t put the book down. Which really made me turn this book into one of my favourite YA books so far. The plot was super engaging and I really had a great time reading this book.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original hunger games trilogy but really this book was the greatest thing ever and it really made the appreciate this whole series much more than I’ve did.

The writing style was a typical YA genre writing style but really it made an amazing mix with the plot and the rest of this book. The writing style was super easy but still enjoyable and really I wish that the original trilogy was like this one.

The almost all characters were amazing here, there were a few character which were a pain in the ass.  But still these characters we’re very few so I can overlook it and really enjoy the characters which were amazing and brilliant.

I personally could relate a lot with Coriolanus Snow which really made me give this book more points.
